Bio.......Larry L. Cantrall

Welcome to my web site. My name is Larry L. Cantrall and I'm a freelance photographer and writer in Newberg, Oregon. I seek out editorially distinctive locations and subjects to publish into media articles with award winning photography. I also accept various photographic assignments such as commercial and publishing for those needing these kind of services. 

Since entering the freelance photography arena in 1995, I've been blessed with continuing successes. Photo publishing credits include several regional and national magazines, magazine covers, post cards, Keiko book projects, promotional photo services and travel interpretative centers. Awards have been bestowed in the 1st Rising Star contest; the last five annual Photographers Forum Spring Contests and the Great Nevada Picture Hunt sponsored by Nevada magazine. While Keiko, aka Free Willie, was in Newport, Oregon; I also shot several photo sessions with him for file press photography for the Free Willie Foundation.

Editorially, my first feature article appeared in print in late 1996. Since that time magazine credits include features and a motorsports column on RV Journal magazine and regional travel pieces in RV Life and Northwest Travel magazines. Nationally, articles have appeared in Railfan and Railroad magazine along with Motorhome by TL Enterprises.

In the past, my byline only appeared under my given name, Larry Cantrall. Recently, however, some of my photographic and editorial material has started appearing  under the pen name, Gene Lawrence. In the future my byline may appear under either name.

I will consider and accept assignments, both photographically and editorially, anywhere in the world as scheduling allows. Photographically, I work in 35mm, 645 medium format and digital. Stock photo files currently number over 8,000 images in various subjects. Examples can be found elsewhere in this web site.
