What does your schedule look like?

A Typical Day (please go to the bottom for blank scheduling sheets).

I especially liked reading "A Patchwork of Days" which is a collection of, for want of a better word, diaries of homeschooling families that illustrate what their schedules look like. Mine isn't nearly as ambitious as some but I thought it would help to illustrate weekday in our lives. This is taken from my journal.

Monday

*Breakfast first thing.

*Chris reads 1 hour (The Bronze Bow)

*Sean works four pages of math out of "Keys to Percentages"

*Ben and I work on writing slant lines and circles.

*Chris works two pages of math using "keys to Algebra book five"

*Sean reads at least 45 min. (The Bronze Bow)

*Ben plays lincoln logs and paints after we read a book or two.

*Chris takes a break and plays with Ben. I usually make sure each boy reads to Ben.

*Sean writes in his daily log. We correct punctuation, grammar and spelling mistakes together.

*Chris writes and then we correct it.

*Lunch and chores

*Chris and sean and I work on Scout badges (currently Citizen in the Communtiy) (We use the scout badges as part of our curriculum sometimes.)

*Chris also starts the seeds for cabbage in flats and waters the other flats he's alredy started (he's also working on his gardening badge.)

*Sean and Ben make Egyptian artifacts and Chris plays with his dogs. (Sean is working on his archeaology badge in scouts too.)

*The boys practice piano or guitar.

*All boys outside to ride bikes, play ball, paly with friends.

*Chores are finished before dinner.

*Dinner

*Scouts on Monday evenings

*The kids sometimes watch NOVA or other PBS specials or we have playtime, crafts, games. Michael plays music with them.

*(Books and Bedtime (my kids have turned out to be bookworms and look forward to reading before they sleep.)

A few notes:
The boys usually read books, fiction or non that relate to the topic we're studying. Right now we're studying the history of the Middle East. Journal writing may consist of an assigned book report, a letter to a family member, a scout badge requirement, etc... I require the boys write out everything pertaining to their scout badge requirements and keep a notebook for scouts. We trade history/social studies topics for science topics every 6 weeks or so.
