![]() Alabama law pertaining to homeschooling is a bit fuzzy. A copy of Alabama's homeschool laws are located here at the HEART website: HOME EDUCATORS of ALABAMA ROUND TABLE That same website includes a list of homeschool groups in the state of Alabama so that if you chose to join a group, you will be able to find one that suits your needs. The site is very worth visiting! Most parents who homeschool in Alabama belong to a group. Belonging to a group has advantages. You should find out if the group you are interested in has field trips, a library, a mentoring program, etc. You might want to ask if they provide workshops or classes and sports opportunities too. I am a founding member of East Lake United Methodist Academy and I'm glad to tell you about my group if you email me. We are an inclusive church based cover school in the heart of Birmingham, Al. We do not require a statement of faith. We offer large and small group sessions on homeschooling 10 times a year. Our large HOMESCHOOL LIBRARY provides teaching resources and homeschooling resources that can be checked out for 30 days. We also offer field trips, a teen group and various classes.
