As much of a bio as your gonna get

I was born and raised in the suburbs of NYC, on Long Island, in 1954.  You can do the math.   I  have a twin brother that I'll tell you about later.  As a kid, I remember turning in empty soda bottles on Sundays to get $0.35 to go to the movies down the street.  Cigarettes cost $0.35 a pack when I started at 16.  I remember lots of other stuff too, but you don't want to know all of that anyway.  My brother and I used to go wormhook2.gif    fishing together.    We used the old hook and worm technique and did pretty well for kids out on their own. fly2.gif Later after college I finally learned how to fly-fish.  It is the most interesting, hardest and relaxing hobby that I have.  I was a founding member and on the Board of Directors of the local chapter of Trout Unlimited which is a conservation organization dedicated to the preservation of cold water resources.

Like a lot of other little kids, we all took piano lessons. piano.gif Other kids  would come around to play ball, but, nnooooo, we had to practice.   I'm actually glad that I took piano lessons, because it made it easier to learn the second instrument that I didn't want to learn, which was the trumpet.  I played it in Jr. High School until about 8th or 9th grade when it just wasn't hip to be playing the trumpet. trumpet2.gif    I did enjoy it after a while, and still have that trumpet in the closet downstairs.  I can still blow a C-scale and play a few riffs.  Somewhere in the middle of all of that I was a boy scout and had learned all about camping and hiking, camp fires and knots, and women, let's not forget women.

All my life as a child, all I can remember ever wanting to be was a chemist.  Sure enough, that's what I did, and got a job right out of college working for Litton Industries Potentiometer Division as their ink chemist and materials lab supervisor.  There was no rush to enter the limited job market back in the mid-seventies, so I let college occupy 5-1/2 years of my life.   Another 7 years later  we managed to buy a small house out in the middle of the woods.  We, right..., Marie and I were married the first year out of college in 1978.  You can travel to  Family to learn more.  I currently work for a small company in CT called Xamax Industries.

Fly-fishing, fly-tying, vegetarian cooking, jogging, bicycle riding, photography, the harmonica, and now cyberspace fill my time.  I love surfing the web, and hanging in some chat rooms.  I came across the  mIRC  chat program and the undernet chat rooms trying to find a cheap alternative to the aol chat for Sarah my oldest.  She wouldn't give up aol, but in the mean time, I had found a new world with some neat people, weird people, but mostly nice, and many that I now consider friends.  You know who you are <G>.

Oh yeah, my brother, life was interesting as a twin.  I always had a built-in best friend.  You can see a bit about him by going to Authors .  We lost my sister  Arline  back in '96.
