New Issues

We're back to a normal sized list after last issue's record-breaking size...

New releases out include titles by the new group, The Bad Plus (Ethan Iverson/Reid Anderson/David King), on Columbia; Stefon Harris on Blue Note; and Christian McBride on Warner Bros.

Also out are titles by guitarists Jeff Barone on String Jazz; George Barnes on Acoustic Disc and Leo Kotke on Blue Note. (The Kotke's are a pair of instrumental compilations.)

Other new titles include Charlie Mariano on Justin Time/Enja; Carol Weisman on Savoy; Jim Cifelli on Short Notice; John Taylor/Kenny Wheeler/Ricardo Del Fra, Stephan Oliva/Francois Raulin and Jean-Philippe Viret on Sketch; and the String Trio of New York and Christof Knoche on Omnitone.

And there are SACDs out from Tony Bennett/K.D. Lang on Columbia and Mark O'Connor on Sony; and a DVD by Jane Monheit on N-Coded.

Reissues & Vintage Issues

Reissues & vintage issues this week include an unreleased live date from Gerry Mulligan on Concord and a batch on Savoy from Cannonball Adderley/Kenny Clarke, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker. There's also a DVD-Audio disc by Dizzy Gillespie on Silverline.
