Trumpeter Art Farmer died on October 4, 1999. With this sad news came the memory of an interview that Steve Schwartz conducted with Farmer on one of his rare visits to Boston. Farmer tells his story in his own words. His tale begins with his move as a teenager from Phoenix to Los Angeles to meet the "greats" and make his first recordings, to touring Europe with Lionel Hampton at the age of 23 and his return to New York to record with Horace Silver and Sonny Rollins. This special also features discussions about his important collaborations with George Russell and Gerry Mulligan.
