Bryant was the "peacemaker". If a boy was being messed with, he went to see Bryant, who would talk to that person and see that the problem was taken care of. You see, Bryant was the "big brother" to all of us. We all looked up to him as being powerful. Bryant was the first boy I met, upon visiting Boys' Home in 1962. I figured that if all of the boys were like him, it must be an okay place for me to go to live for awhile.

Bryant was killed in the Vietnam war. I have seen his name on the Vietnam Memorial Wall. He is missed by all of us. And by his brother, Curtis, his family, by Boys' Home.... and his country. - DAVID HERRING -
