    What you'll need:
 
  Ingredients
  1/4   lb pine nuts
  1/3   teaspoon salt
  2/3   cup sugar
  1/2   cup corn oil
  1½   cups water
 
 
  Directions:
 
  1.   Bring 1-1/2 cups water to boil in pan, add sugar and salt; stir. Boil for 1 minute. Pour in pine nuts. Bring to boil. Turn off gas. Leave on stove top and let soak for 30 minutes, then drain dry. Set aside.

  2.   Heat oil to about 250° F in pan; pour in drained pine nuts slowly and carefully. Fry over low heat for 3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove nuts from heat. Drain dry. Serve cool. Make 3 servings.
