  What you'll need:
 
  1   package (8 oz.) chopped Dates
  ½   cup orange juice
  1½   cups quick cooking oats
  1½   cups all-purpose flour
  ½   cup packed brown sugar
  ¾   cup unsalted butter, melted
  ¼   teaspoon baking powder
  ¼   teaspoon salt
 
  Directions:
 
  1.   In saucepan, cook dates with orange juice over medium heat, about 5 minutes, or until thicken. Set aside. Preheat over to 375° F. 
  2.   Combine oats, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in large bowl. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
  3.   Do not grease pan. Press ½ oat mixture in the bottom of  a 9x 9" square pan firmly. Spread date fillings over the layer evenly.
  4.   Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture on the top; press lightly. Bake 25 minutes or until lightly brown. Serve warm. Make 16 servings
