  Quick Method:
 
  1.   Stir 1-1/2 cups boiling water into gelatin in large bowl at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved.
  2.   Mix 1 cup cold water and ice cubes to make 1-1/2 cups. Add to gelatin, stirring until slightly thickened. Remove any remaining ice.
  3.   Refrigerate 30 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove 1-1/2 cups of the gelatin; stir in fruit.
  4.   Stir whipped topping into remaining gelatin with fork until blended. Pour into 8-inch square pan. Refrigerate 10 minutes until set but not firm. Carefully spoon fruited gelatin over layer in pan.
  5.   Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm. Dip bottom of pan in warm water about 30 seconds. Cut into squares. Lift from pan. Makes 9 pieces.

  1   package (6 oz.) JELL-O cherry or strawberry flavor gelatin
  1   can (8.75 oz.) mixed fruit, drained
(may use tropical fruit salad)
  4   oz. whipped topping, thawed
