  What you'll need:
 
  ¼   cup Holland pearl barley
  ¼   cup millet
  ¼   cup mung beans
  ¼   cup red beans. Tip.
  ¼   cup lotus seeds. Tip.
  ¼   cup peanuts
  ½   glutinous rice
  12   longans
  2   tablespoons rice wine
  1   cup sugar
       
  Directions:
 
  1.   Cook red beans, lotus seeds, peanuts, and mung beans separately in slow cooker 5 hours or until soft.
  2.   Combine longan, barley, millet, and rice in pot with 6 cups water. Bring to a boil; continue to cook over medium high 20 minutes or until done. Stir frequently halfway through cooking.
  3.   Add 1 cup sugar, stir to mix well. Add 2 tablespoons rice wine; stir well. 
  4.   Remove from heat. Serve hot. Makes 8 servings.
