  Directions:
 
  1.   Cut turnip cake into 1/2-in thick slices.
 
 
  2.   Place steaming booster in pan, add water to half high of booster.


Place steaming plate on top of the booster.
 
 
       
 

   What you'll need:
 
  1   chunk turnip cake, about 1 lb
  1   little cilantro (optional)
  1   stalk green onion
  3   tablespoons corn oil
  2   tablespoons ketchup
  Directions (continued):
 
  3.   Prepare Steamed Turnip Cakes:
Arrange cake slices on steaming plate, cover. Bring to a boil; let steam for 8 minutes.
      Open cover; add green onion and cilantro bits. Cover and steam 1 minute. Set aside.
 
  4.   Prepare Fried Turnip Cakes:
Heat 1 teaspoon corn oil in skillet, fry cake at medium heat until both sides are light brown. 
  5.   Remove from heat. Arrange on plate with steamed cakes. Serve hot with ketchup or mustard. Makes 4 servings.
