  Directions:
 
  1.   Cook chopped dates with 1/2 cup orange juice in saucepan, about 5 minutes, or until thickens. Stir in remaining juice and 1/4 cup cranberries.
  2.   Combine oats, flour, sugar, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Stir in melted butter until mixed evenly.
  3.   Press about 2/3 of oat mixture onto bottom of foil-lined 9" square pan. Spread date fillings over the oat mixture layer..
  4.   Stir remaining 1/4 cup cranberries into the remaining oat mixture. Cover fillings with oat mixture. Press down firmly.
  5.   Bake at 375° F, 25 minutes or until lightly brown.
  6.   Serve warm. 24 servings

  1   package (8 oz.) chopped dates
  3/4   cup orange juice, divided 1/2 and 1/4
  1/2   cup dried cranberries, divided equally
  1½   cups quick cooking oats
  1½   cups all-purpose flour
  1/2   cup packed brown sugar
  3/4   cup unsalted butter, melted
  1/4   teaspoon baking soda
  1/4   teaspoon salt
