The Brown Bear Club
The Brown Bear Club is a philosophical group formed by the leading bear minds of Honeywood.
The purpose of the club is to encourage the perpetuation of bears in human's lives as well as to promote growth and understanding of other bear cultures.
We believe that there is a fundamental interest by bears in social gatherings, adventures
and making humans happy! We really love to tell stories -especially epics like Bearowolfe- as well as
hold gatherings to discuss key events in the lives of bears and their humans. Many of us have traveled extensively and we believe that
it is important to have an adventure on a regular basis and to document it thoroughly so that is may be shared with bears everywhere!
We encourage other bears to communicate with us by visiting or by correspondence and join the Brown Bear Club.
Although the club is primarily made up of brown bears we have many chapters for bears of other colors as well as non-bears.
Thank-you Honi Kaua, President, BBC

The Prather Chapter has mailed their latest news. Let's see what is going on in the mountains!
December Minutes of the Brown Bear Club-Prather Chapter Minutes- President Ulysses presiding.
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 PM, on December 19th, 1999 with all club members present.
The first order of business was to distribute the refreshments which included Stout, Christmas Pudding, Honey, Lemon Curd and Scones, Devonshire cream, and baked apples.
The club members offered their kudos to Hoppy, who had filled in for Muffy while she was away on the expedition to find Fall. A motion was made by Henry to open presents on Christmas Eve.
Old Business:
Napoleon said that in fact the presents should be opened on Epiphany, January 6. To prevent arguments, the remainder of the club members voted on Christmas Morning, so that the opening would coincide with breakfast, and they would be able to see what Santa Claus had left in everyone's stockings.
The decorations for the BBC tree were to include cranberries and popcorn, but no one was to eat the decorations prior to Christmas Morning.
It was decided that rather than everyone exchanging gifts they would draw names and then the group would spend the remainder of their money on the feast for Christmas.
Eliza suggested that in fact the group plan the feast for the Twelve Days of Christmas, with a different bear responsible for the entertainment each evening. The motion was seconded by Shakesbeare who offered to write a Masque for Twelfth Night.
Sir Edmund reminded him of the fact that the Play was already written and they should divide up the parts to start working on their performance. The motion was carried unanimously.
Bruinette called for the report of the Expedition to find Fall. Obviously we had moved on to winter since there was snow the third week of December.
A resounding cry of Hurrahs and Applause rang from the great room at Best Hall in Prather at the conclusion of the reading by Shakesbeare.
Sir Edmund suggested that the adult bears go out to find and cut the perfect Christmas Tree, but the youngsters would have none of being left behind. The size and shape were to be determined at the success party for the Fall expedition.
The meeting was adjourned in time for the party, since all club members except Shakesbeare and Ulysses had already left for the kitchen , leaving up turned chairs and Bear mugs sitting in Best Hall.
Sincerely, William Shakesbeare, esq.
Secretary, Brown Bear Club- Prather Chapter.
Camera footage of Alpenbeare and Sir Edmund Bearaly climbing the Great Tree of Best Hall. They are especially equipped to hang some ornaments and shiny stuff on it for decoration. This is actually an unusual rock formation in the shape of a tree!Sir Edmund would like to remind all members that he is an expert climber and great care is to be taken when leading something this vertical. He rates it at 5.12b because of snow on the rock.

The Brown Bear Club has designed its own coat of arms! The members would like to encourage other members to design their own coat of arms or other heraldry and colors. They will be published on Valentine's Day at their "We Love Bears" party.
Please write if you are interested in becoming a member of the Brown Bear Club. Annual Membership is by local chapter approval. New Chapters may be forming in your area now! Maybe you would like to be a founding Bear?
