"Then Began Men to Call Upon the Name of the LORD"
Genealogies can be exciting to explore. We can spend a lifetime listening to Aunt Mary talking about the antics of Cousin Tom and Grandma laughing about Uncle Bob's first bicycle. But who are they? Where did they come from? Who were their ancestors? These are questions that can become an intriguing mystery to those who know and have been raised by their parents.
For those who don't know their true parents it can become a painful reality causing them to feel like a missing link trying to add credibility to their lives. There is a sense of rejection that desires the utmost in approval. It leaves a hollow place inside the heart that cannot be filled except by the most intimate love. The greatest security a child can ever feel is wrapped inside the warm blanket of their parents love. When the blanket is removed they become most vulnerable.
Adam and Eve were not alone but the moment they disobeyed God's commandment the righteousness of God that was upon them departed leaving them naked and ashamed. In *Genesis 3:8-9 it is recorded that in the cool of the day Adam heard the voice of God walking in the Garden calling his name.
There are arms that long to hold you. To take away all the tears. To make all that is wrong in your life right. To cover you with His blanket of love. We have a loving Father Who has never forgotten you. He has never abandoned you. He has not left you without a heritage.

The account of the people's lives from Adam to Noah are vague, yet in the plan of the ages they are extremely important. Each soul born to man has played an important part in the eternal plan of God. It reveals mankind's need for a redeemer. Each man lived and each man died separated from God but one. *Genesis 5:24 "And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him."

The course of our lives may seem lost without a parent to guide us. Those who we may call our mother and father might not be part of our true family but God has given you a family and lineage to call your own. He has given us a way to become adopted into the household of God. Through Jesus Christ He has given us a way to become part of His kingdom and we are able to cry out "Abba Father" to the One Who has created us. Because of Jesus' sacrifice we are no longer strangers or foreigners but we are of the household and fellowship of God.
Finding our parents in this world may be a goal or quest that often leads us into dead ends but God will never ever lead you into a place of no return. He has provided you a way, a heritage, a lineage that is far greater than what this world can imagine. He is preparing a place for you to live forever. Right now, at this present time, you are able to sit in heavenly places with Him through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord," (*Romans 8:38-39).
Enter His covenant of promise through the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord. There you will find a family full of love, joy, hope, and heritage that nothing in this world or the world to come can ever offer.
