Last Quarter's Answer

Patient Information: 65-year-old woman, presented to the Emergency Room due to an episode of syncope that occurred few hours earlier. What is the diagnosis? What might the next EKG show?

Diagnosis: There is severe prolongation of the QT interval. The next EKG showed polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (torsades de pointes). The initial episode of syncope that brought the patient to the Emergency Room was -apparently- secondary to another episode of torsades.

I received a total of 79 responses.
