Question: I'm a registered user and a new version of Quick Mpeg has come out. What do I do to upgrade to the new version?

Answer: Just download the new version and click the "Accept" button. It will install the new version and you will still be registered. DO NOT click the "Uninstall" button!

Question: What is the Mute on the ScreenSaver Settings Screen for?

Answer: If you are using Quick Mpeg as your selected screensaver(it comes on after a period of inactivity on your computer), you might not want the sound coming on disturbing people. If this is set it will always initially mute the sound when the operating system starts the screensaver. You can of course still toggle it On/Off with the up arrow key.

Question: When running in screensaver mode in XP the program always returns to the welcome screen.

Answer: Click on the Start Button and select Control Panel. Then select display and click on the ScreenSaver Tab. Uncheck the box that says "On resume, click Welcome screen" and click on the Apply button. Now the only time it will return to the Welcome screen is when you have a password set for your account and the "Password protected" box is set on the Quick Mpeg Screen Saver Settings box.

Question: After upgrading to Windows XP some of my movies won't play, the sound plays but not the picture.

Answer: Windows XP deletes some/all of your avi video codecs. Usually downloading and installing the Intel Indeo codecs from: http://downloadfinder.intel.com solves the problem.
