The Root to Radicals is a software program that helps students manipulate square roots in radical form. The topics covered include perfect squares, simple square roots, multiplication and division. Each section contains 2 to 6 levels of difficulty including problems with and without coefficients.
The Root to Radicals allows students to break down each problem on the screen. Students have 2 to 3 chances to find the correct answer. Answers to all problems are clearly displayed on the screen. Using this program, students can work at their own pace and their own level. Students have the option of saving their progress to disk. Reports can be printed to the screen or printer. Therefore, you can send students to the computer lab to work on The Root to Radicals and have them return with a printout of their progress.
The Root To Radicals is written for Apple and IBM (including compatible) computers. For $25.00, you will have permission to make enough copies for all of your students. Included with this package is a reproducible signup sheet and a student instruction handout. Who says that quality educational software has to be expensive?
