HERE,HEREAFTER,THERE
STRING = HERE
2: 4 And who believe in the Revelation Sent to thee, And sent before thy
2: 4 time, And (in their hearts) Have the assurance of the Here after.
2: 8 Of the people there are some who say: " We believe in Allah and the
2: 8 Last Day;" But they do not (really) believe.
2: 20 The lightning all but snatches away Their light; every time the
2: 20 light (Helps) them, they walk therein, And when the darkness grows
2: 20 on them, They stand still. And if Allah willed, He could take away
2: 20 Their faculty of hearing and seeing; For Allah hath power over all
2: 20 things.
2: 20 SECTION 3.
2: 22 Who has made the earth your couch, And the heaven your canopy; And
2: 22 sent down rain from the heavens; And brought forth therewith Fruits
2: 22 for your sustenance; Then set not up rivals unto Allah When ye know
2: 22 (the truth).
2: 23 And if ye are in doubt As to what We have revealed From time to
2: 23 time to our servant. Then produce a Sura Like thereunto; And call
2: 23 your witnesses or helpers (if there are any) besides Allah, If your
2: 23 (doubts) are true.
2: 25 But give glad tidings To those who believe And work righteousness,
2: 25 That their portion is Gardens, Beneath which rivers flow. Every
2: 25 time they are fed With fruits therefrom. They say: "Why, this is
2: 25 What we were fed with before, For they are given things in
2: 25 similitude; And they have therein Companions (pure and holy); And
2: 25 they abide therein (for ever).
2: 30 Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I will create A vicegerent on
2: 30 earth," They said, "Wilt Thou place therein one who will make
2: 30 Mischief therein and shed blood?- Whilst we do celebrate Thy
2: 30 praises And glorify Thy holy (name)?" He said: "I know what ye know
2: 30 not."
2: 35 We said : "O Adam ! dwell thou And thy wife in the Garden; And eat
2: 35 of the bountiful things therein As (where and when) ye will, but
2: 35 approach not this tree, Or ye run into harm and transgression."
2: 38 We said: "Get ye down all from here; And if, as is sure, there
2: 38 comes to you Guidance from Me," whosoever Follows My guidance, on
2: 38 them Shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
2: 39 "But those who reject Faith And belie Our Signs, They shall be
2: 39 Companions of the Fire. They shall abide therein."
2: 39 SECTION 5.
2: 41 And believe in what I reveal, confirming the revelation Which is
2: 41 with you And be not the first to reject Faith therein, nor sell My
2: 41 Sign For a small price; and fear Me, And Me alone.
2: 49 And remember, We delivered you From the people of Pharaoh; they set
2: 49 you Hard tasks and punishments, slaughtered Your sons and let your
2: 49 women folk live; Therein was a tremendous trial from your Lord.
2: 52 Even then We did forgive you; There was a chance for you To be
2: 52 grateful.
2: 53 And remember We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion (Between
2: 53 right and wrong): there was A chance for you to be guided aright.
2: 58 And remember We said: "Enter this town, and eat Of the plenty
2: 58 therein As ye wish; but enter The gate with humility, In posture
2: 58 and in words, And We shall forgive you your faults And increase
2: 58 (the portion of) Those who do good."
2: 60 And remember Moses prayed For water for his people; We said:
2: 60 "Strike the rock With thy staff." Then gushed forth Therefrom
2: 60 twelve springs. Each group knew its own place For water. So eat and
2: 60 drink Of the sustenance provided by Allah And do no evil nor
2: 60 mischief On the (face of the) earth.
2: 63 And remember We took Your Covenant And We raised above you (The
2: 63 towering height) Of Mount (Sinai) (Saying); "Hold firmly To what We
2: 63 have given you And bring (ever) to remembrance What is therein:
2: 63 Perchance ye may fear Allah."
2: 64 But ye turned back thereafter: Had it not been for the Grace And
2: 64 Mercy of Allah to you, Ye had surely been Among the lost.
2: 74 Thenceforth were your hearts Hardened: they became Like a rock and
2: 74 even worse In hardness. For among rocks There are some from which
2: 74 Rivers gush forth; others There are which when split Asunder send
2: 74 forth water; And others which sink For fear of Allah. And Allah is
2: 74 Not unmindful of what ye do.
2: 78 And there are among them Illiterates, who know not the book But(see
2: 78 therein their own) desires And they do nothing but conjecture.
2: 79 Then woe to those who write The Book with their own hands And then
2: 79 say: "This is from Allah," To traffic with it For a miscrable
2: 79 price!- Woe to them for what their hands Do write, and the gain
2: 79 They make thereby.
2: 81 Nay, those who seek gain In Evil, and are girt round By their
2: 81 sins,- They are Companions of the Fire: Therein shall they abide.
2: 81 (For ever).
2: 82 But those who have faith And work righteousness, They are
2: 82 Companions of the Garden; therein shall they abide (For ever).
2: 82 SECTION 10.
2: 86 These are the people who buy The life of this world at the price Of
2: 86 the hereafter: their penalty Shall not be lightened, Nor shall they
2: 86 be helped.
2: 86 SECTION 11.
2: 87 We gave Moses the Book And followed him up With a succession of
2: 87 Apostles; We gave Jesus the son of Mary Clear (Signs) and
2: 87 strengthened him With the holy spirit. Is it That whenever there
2: 87 comes to you An Apostle with what ye yourselves desire not, ye are
2: 87 Puffed up with pride?-Some ye called impostors, And others ye slay!
2: 89 And when there comes to them A Book from Allah, confirming What is
2: 89 with them,- although From of old they had prayed For victory
2: 89 against those Without Faith,- when there comes To them that which
2: 89 they (Should) have recognised, They refused to believe in it: But
2: 89 the curse of Allah Is on those without Faith.
2: 92 There came to you Moses With clear (Signs); yet Ye worshipped the
2: 92 Calf (Even) after that, and ye Did behave wrongfully.
2:102 They followed what the evil ones Gave out (falsely) Against the
2:102 power Of solomon: the blasphemers Were, not Solomon, but The evil
2:102 ones, teaching men Magic, and such things As came down at Babylon
2:102 To the angels Harut and Marut. But neither of these taught any one
2:102 (Such things) without saying: "We are only for trial; So do not
2:102 blaspheme." They learned from them The means to sow discord Between
2:102 man and wife. But they could not thus Harm any one except By
2:102 Allah's permission. And they learned what harmed them, Not what
2:102 profited them. And they knew that the buyers Of (magic) would have
2:102 No share in the happiness Of the Hereafter. And vile Was the price
2:102 of which They did sell their souls, If they but knew!
2:114 And who is more unjust Than he who forbids That in places for the
2:114 worship Of Allah, Allah's name should be Celebrated?- whose zeal is
2:114 (in fact) to ruin them? It was not fitting that such should
2:114 themselves enter them Except in fear. For them There is nothing but
2:114 disgrace In this world, and in the world To come, an exceeding
2:114 torment.
2:115 To Allah belong the East And the west: whithersoever Ye turn, there
2:115 is the Presence Of Allah. For Allah is All-Pervading, All-Knowing.
2:121 Those to whom We have sent The Book study it as it Should be
2:121 studied: they are The ones that believe therein: Those who reject
2:121 faith therein,- The loss is their own.
2:121 SECTION 15.
2:125 Remember We made the House A place of assembly for men And a place
2:125 of safety; And take ye the Station Of Abraham as a place Of prayer;
2:125 and We covenanted With Abraham and Ismail, That they should
2:125 sanctify My House for those who Compass it round, or use it As a
2:125 retreat, or bow, or Prostrate themselves (therein In prayer).
2:130 And who turns away From the religion of Abraham But such as debase
2:130 their souls With folly? Him We chose And rendered pure in this
2:130 world; And he will be in the hereafter in the ranks of the
2:130 Righteous.
2:134 That was a People that hath Passed away. They shall reap The fruit
2:134 of what they did, And ye of what ye do! Of their merits There is no
2:134 question in your case!
2:141 That was a people that hath Passed away. They shall reap The fruit
2:141 of what they did, And ye of what ye do! Of their merits There is no
2:141 question in your case.
2:141 SECTION 17.
2:144 We see the turning Of thy face (for guidance) To the heavens: now
2:144 Shall We turn thee To a Qibla that shall Please thee. Turn then Thy
2:144 face in the direction Of the Sacred Mosque: Wherever ye are, turn
2:144 Your faces in that direction. The people of the Book Know well that
2:144 that is The Truth from their Lord. Nor is Allah unmindful Of what
2:144 they do.
2:148 To each is a goal To which Allah turns him; Then strive together
2:148 (as in a race) Towards all that is good. Wheresoever ye are, Allah
2:148 will bring you Together. For Allah Hath power over all things.
2:150 So from whencesoever Thou startest forth, turn Thy face in the
2:150 direction Of the Sacred Mosque; Among wheresoever ye are Turn your
2:150 face thither: That there be no ground Of dispute against you Among
2:150 the people Except those of them that are Bent of wickedness; so
2:150 fear Them not, but fear Me; And that I may complete My favours on
2:150 you, and ye May (consent to) be guided;
2:162 They will abide therein: Their penalty will not Be lightened, nor
2:162 will Respite be their (lot).
2:163 And your Allah Is One Allah: There is no god But He, Most Gracious,
2:163 Most Merciful.
2:163 SECTION 20.
2:164 Behold! In the creation Of the heavens and the earth; In the
2:164 alternation Of the Night and the Day, In the sailing of the ships
2:164 Through the ocean For the profit of mankind; In the rain which
2:164 Allah Sends down from the skies; And the life which He gives
2:164 therewith To an earth that is dead; In the beasts of all kinds That
2:164 He scatters Through the earth; In the change of the winds, And the
2:164 clouds which they Trail like their slaves Between the sky and the
2:164 earth;- (Here) indeed are Signs For a people that are wise.
2:165 Yet there are men Who take (for worship) Others besides Allah As
2:165 equal (with Allah): They love them As they should love Allah. But
2:165 those of Faith are Overflowing in their love For Allah. If only The
2:165 unrighteous could see, Behold, they would see The Penalty: that to
2:165 Allah Belongs all power, and Allah Will strongly enforce The
2:165 Penalty.
2:167 And those who followed Would say: "If only We had one more chance,
2:167 We would clear ourselves Of them, as they have Cleared themselves
2:167 of us." Thus will Allah show them (The fruits of) their deeds As
2:167 (nothing but) regrets, Nor will there be a way For them out of the
2:167 Fire.
2:167 SECTION 21.
2:179 In the Law of Equality There is (saving of) Life To you, O ye men
2:179 of understanding! That ye may Restrain yourselves.
2:182 But if any one fears Paritiality or wrong-doing On the part of the
2:182 testator, And makes peace between (The parties concerned). There is
2:182 no wrong in him: For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
2:182 SECTION 23.
2:187 Permitted to you, On the night of the fasts, Is the approach to
2:187 your wives. They are your garments And ye are their garments. Allah
2:187 knoweth what ye Used to do secretly among yourselves: But He turned
2:187 to you And forgave you; So now associate with them, And seek what
2:187 Allah Hath ordained for you, And eat and drink, Until the white
2:187 thread Of dawn appear to you distinct from its black thread; Then
2:187 complete your fast Till the night appears; But do not associate
2:187 With your wives While ye are in retreat In the mosques. Those are
2:187 Limits (set by) Allah: Approach not nigh thereto. Thus doth Allah
2:187 make clear His Signs to men: that They may learn self-restraint.
2:191 And slay them Wherever ye catch them, And turn them out From where
2:191 they have Turned you out; For tumult and oppression Are worse than
2:191 slaughter; But fight them not At the Sacred Mosque, Unless they
2:191 (first) Fight you there: But if they fight you, Slay them. Such is
2:191 the reward Of those who suppress Faith.
2:193 And fight them on Until there is no more Tumult or oppression, And
2:193 there prevail Justice and faith in Allah; But if they cease, Let
2:193 there be no hostility Except to those who practise oppression.
2:194 The prohibited month For the prohibited month,- And so for all
2:194 things prohibited,- There is the law of equality. If then anyone
2:194 transgresses The prohibition against you, Transgress ye likewise
2:194 Against him. But fear Allah, and know That Allah is with those Who
2:194 restrain themselves.
2:197 For Hajj Are the months well known. If anyone undertakes The duty
2:197 therein, Let there be no obscenity Nor wickedness, Nor wrangling In
2:197 the Hajj, And whatever good Ye do, (be sure) Allah knoweth it. And
2:197 take a provision (With you) for the journey. But the best of
2:197 provisions Is right conduct. So fear Me, O ye that are wise!
2:200 So when ye have Accomplished your holy rites, Celebrate the
2:200 praises of Allah, As ye used to celebrate The praises of your
2:200 fathers,- Yea, with far more Heart and soul. There are men who say:
2:200 "Our Lord! give us (Thy bounties) in this world!" But they will
2:200 have No portion in the Hereafter.
2:201 And there are men who say: "Our Lord! Give us Good in this world
2:201 And good in the Hereafter, And defend us from the torment On the
2:201 Fire!"
2:203 Celebrate the praises of Allah During the Appointed Days, But if
2:203 anyone hastens To leave in two days, There is no blame on him, And
2:203 if anyone stays on, There is no blame on him, If his aims is to do
2:203 right. Then fear Allah, and know That ye will surely Be gathered
2:203 unto Him.
2:204 There is the type of man Whose speech About this world's life May
2:204 dazzle thee, And he calls Allah to witness About what is in his
2:204 heart; Yet is he the most contentious Of enemies.
2:205 When he turns his back, His aim everywhere Is to spread mischief
2:205 Through the earth and destroy Crops and cattle. But Allah loveth
2:205 not mischief.
2:207 And there is the type of man Who gives his life To earn the
2:207 pleasure of Allah; And Allah is full of kindness To (His) devotees.
2:213 Mankind was one single nation , And Allah sent Messengers With glad
2:213 tidings and warnings; And with them He sent The Book in truth, To
2:213 judge between people In matters wherein They differed; But the
2:213 People of the Book, After the Clear Signs Came to them, did not
2:213 differ Among themselves, Except through selfishcontumacy. Allah by
2:213 His Grace Guided the Believers To the Truth, Concerning that
2:213 Wherein they differed. For Allah guides Whom He will To a path That
2:213 is straight.
2:217 They ask thee Concerning fighting In the Prohibited Month. Say:
2:217 "Fighting therein Is a grave (offence): But graver is it In the
2:217 sight of Allah To prevent access To the path of Allah, To deny Him,
2:217 To prevent access To the Sacred Mosque, And drive out its members."
2:217 Tumult and oppression Are worse than slaughter Nor will they cease
2:217 Fighting you until They turn you back From your faith If they can.
2:217 And if any of you Turn back from their faith And die in unbelief,
2:217 Their works will bear no fruit In this life And in the Hereafter;
2:217 They will be Companions of the Fire And will abide therein.
2:220 (Their bearings) on This life and the Hereafter. They ask thee
2:220 Concerning orphans. Say: " The best thing to do Is what is for
2:220 their good; If ye mix Their affairs with yours, They are your
2:220 brethren; But Allah knows The man who means mischief From the man
2:220 who means good.
2:220 And if Allah had wished, He could have put you Into difficulties:
2:220 He is indeed Exalted in Power, Wise."
2:223 Your wives are As tilth unto you: So approach your tilth When or
2:223 how ye will: But do some good act For your souls beforehand; And
2:223 fear Allah, And Know that ye are To meet Him (in the Hereafter) And
2:223 give (these) good tidings To those who believe.
2:229 A divorce is only Permissible twice: after that, The parties should
2:229 either hold Together on equitable terms Or separate with kindness.
2:229 It is not lawful for you, (Men) to take back Any of your gifts
2:229 (from your wives), Except when both parties Fear that they would be
2:229 Unable to keep the limits Ordained by Allah, If ye (judges) do
2:229 indeed Fear that they would be Unable to keep the limits Ordained
2:229 by Allah, There is no blame on either Of them if she give Something
2:229 for her freedom. These are the limits Ordained by Allah; So do not
2:229 transgress them. If any do transgress The limits ordained by Allah,
2:229 Such persons wrong (Themselves as well as others).
2:230 So if a husband Divorces his wife (irrevocably), He cannot, after
2:230 that, Remarry her until After she has married Another husband and
2:230 He has divorced her. In that case there is No blame on either of
2:230 them If they reunite, provided They feel that they Can keep the
2:230 limits Ordained by Allah. Such are the limits Ordained by Allah,
2:230 which He makes plain To those who understand.
2:233 The mother shall give suck To their offspring For two whole years,
2:233 If the father desires, To complete the term. But he shall bear the
2:233 cost Of their food and clothing On equitable terms. No soul shall
2:233 have A burden laid on it Greater than it can bear. No mother shall
2:233 be Treated unfairly On account of her child, Nor father On account
2:233 of his child. An heir shall be chargeable In the same way If they
2:233 both decide On weaning, By mutual consent, And after due
2:233 consultation, There is no blame on them. If ye decide On a
2:233 foster-mother For your offspring,There is no blame on you, Provided
2:233 ye pay (the mother) What ye offered, On equitable terms. But fear
2:233 Allah and know That Allah sees well What ye do.
2:234 If any of you die And leave widows behind, They shall wait
2:234 concerning themselves Four months and ten days: When they have
2:234 fulfilled Their term, there is no blame On you if they dispose Of
2:234 themselves in a just And reasonable manner. And Allah is well
2:234 acquainted With what ye do.
2:235 There is no blame On you if ye make An offer of betrothal Or hold
2:235 it in your hearts. Allah knows that ye Cherish them in your hearts:
2:235 But do not make a secret contract With them except in terms
2:235 Honourable, nor resolve on the tie Of marriage till the term
2:235 Prescribed is fulfilled And know that Allah Knoweth what is in your
2:235 hearts And take heed to him; And know that Allah is Oft-Forgiving,
2:235 Most Forbearing.
2:235 SECTION 31.
2:236 There is no blame on you If ye divorce women Before consummation Or
2:236 the fixation of their dower; But bestow on them (A suitable gift)
2:236 The wealthy According to his means, And the poor According to his
2:236 means:- A gift of a reasonable amount Is due from those Who wish
2:236 to do the right things.
2:240 Those of you Who die and leave widows Should bequeath For their
2:240 widows A year's maintenance And residence; But if they leave (The
2:240 residence), There is no blame on you For what they do With
2:240 themselves, Provided it is reasonable, And Allah is Exalted in
2:240 Power, Wise.
2:248 And (further) their Prophet Said to them: " A Sign Of his authority
2:248 Is that there shall come To you the Ark of the Covenant, With
2:248 (an assurance) therein Of security from your Lord, And the relics
2:248 left By the family of Moses And the family of Aaron, Carried by
2:248 angels. In this is a Symbol For you if ye indeed Have faith."
2:248 SECTION 33.
2:255 Allah! There is no god But He,- the Living, The Self-subsisting,
2:255 Eternal No slumber can seize Him Nor sleep. His are all things In
2:255 the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede In His
2:255 presence except As He permitteth? He knoweth What (appeareth to His
2:255 creatures As) Before or After Or behind them. Nor shall they
2:255 compass Aught of His knowledge Except as He willeth. His Throne
2:255 doth extend Over the heavens And the earth, and He feelth No
2:255 fatigue in guarding And preserving them For He is the Most High,
2:255 The Supreme (in glory).
2:256 Let there be no compulsion In religion: Truth stands out Clear from
2:256 Error: whoever Rejects Evil and believes In Allah hath grasped The
2:256 most trustworthy Hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth.
2:256 And knoweth all things.
2:257 Allah is the Protector Of those who have faith: From the depths of
2:257 of darkness He will lead them forth Into light. Of those Who reject
2:257 faith the patrons Are the Evil Ones: from light They will lead them
2:257 forth. Into the depths of darkness. They will be Companions Of the
2:257 fire, to dwell therein (For ever).
2:266 Does any of you wish That he should have a garden With date-palms
2:266 and vines And streams flowing Underneath, and all kinds Of fruit,
2:266 while he is stricken With old age, and his children Are not strong
2:266 (enough to look after themselves)-. That it should be caught in a
2:266 whirlwind, With fire therein, And be burnt up? Thus doth Allah make
2:266 clear to you (His) Signs; That ye may consider.
2:266 SECTION 37.
2:275 Those who devour usury Will not stand except As stands one whom
2:275 The Evil One by his touch Hath driven to madness. That is because
2:275 they say: "Trade is like usury," But Allah hath permitted trade
2:275 And forbidden usury. Those who after receiving Direction from their
2:275 Lord, Desist, shall be pardoned For the past; their case Is for
2:275 Allah (to judge); But those who repeat (The offence)are companions
2:275 Of the Fire: they will Abide therein (for ever).
2:282 O ye who believe! When ye deal with each other, In transactions
2:282 involving Future obligations In a fixed period of time,
2:282 Reduce them to writing. Let a scribe write down Faithfully as
2:282 between The parties: let not the scribe Refuse to write: as Allah
2:282 Has taught him, So let him write. Let him who incurs The liability
2:282 dictate, But let him fear His Lord Allah, And not diminish Aught
2:282 of what he owes. If the party liable Is mentally deficient, Or
2:282 weak, or unable Himself to dictate, Let his guardian Dictate
2:282 faithfully. And get two witnesses, Out of your own men, And if
2:282 there are not two men, Then a man and two women, Such as ye choose,
2:282 For witnesses, So that if one of them errs, The other can remind
2:282 her. The witnesses Should not refuse When they are called on (For
2:282 evidence). Disdain not to reduce To writing (your contract) For a
2:282 future period, Whether it be small Or big: it is juster In the
2:282 sight of Allah, More suitable as evidence, And more convenient To
2:282 prevent doubts Among yourselves But if it be a transaction Which
2:282 ye carry out On the spot among yourselves, There is no blame on
2:282 you If ye reduce it not To writing. But take witnesses Whenever ye
2:282 make A commercial contract; And let neither scribe Nor witness
2:282 suffer harm, If ye do (such harm), It would be wickedness In you
2:282 So fear Allah; For it is Allah That teaches you. And Allah is well
2:282 acquainted With all things.
3: 2 Allah! There is no god But He,-the Living, The Self-Subsisting,
3: 2 Eternal.
3: 6 He it is Who shapes you In the wombs as He pleases. There is no
3: 6 god but He, The Exalted in Might, The Wise.
3: 7 He it is Who has sent down To thee the Book: In it are verses Basic
3: 7 or fundamental (Of established meaning); They are the foundation of
3: 7 the Book: others Are allegorical. But those In whose hearts is per-
3: 7 versity follow The part thereof that is allegorical,Seeking discord
3: 7 and searching For its hidden meanings, But no one knows Its hidden
3: 7 meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded In knowled
3: 7 ge say: "We believe In the Book; the whole of it Is from our Lord":
3: 7 and none Will grasp the Message Except men of understanding.
3: 9 "Our Lord! Thou art He That will gather mankind Together against a
3: 9 Day about which There is no doubt: for Allah Never fails in His
3: 9 promise."
3: 9 SECTION 2.
3: 12 Say to those who reject Faith: "Soon will ye be vanquished And
3: 12 gathered together To Hell,-and evil bed Indeed (to lie on)!
3: 13 "There has already been For you a Sign In the two armies That met
3: 13 (in combat): One was fighting in the Cause Of Allah, the other
3: 13 Resisting Allah: these saw With their own eyes Twice their number.
3: 13 But Allah doth support With His aid whom He pleaseth. In this is a
3: 13 warning For such as have eyes to see."
3: 15 Say: Shall I give you Glad tidings of things Far better than those?
3: 15 For the righteous are Gardens In nearness to their Lord, With
3: 15 rivers flowing beneath; Therein is their eternal home; With
3: 15 Companions pure (and holy); And the good pleasure of Allah. For in
3: 15 Allah's sight. Are (all) His servants,-
3: 18 There is no god but He: That is the witness of Allah, His angels,
3: 18 and those endued With knowledge standing firm On justice. There
3: 18 is no god but He, The Exalted in Power, The Wise.
3: 19 The Religion before Allah Is Islam (submission to His Will) Nor did
3: 19 the People of the Book. Dissent therefrom except Through envy of
3: 19 each other, After knowledge hadcome to them. But if any deny the
3: 19 Signs of Allah, Allah is swift in calling to account.
3: 22 They are those whose works Will bear no fruit In this world And in
3: 22 the Hereafter, Nor will they have Anyone to help.
3: 25 But how (will they fare) When We gather them together Against a
3: 25 Day about which There is no doubt, And each soul will be paid out
3: 25 Just what it has earned, Without (favour or injustice)?
3: 28 Let not the Believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers
3: 28 rather than Beleivers: if any do that, In nothing will there be
3: 28 help From Allah: except by way Of precaution, that ye may Guard
3: 28 yourselves from them. But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself
3: 28 For the final goal Is to Allah.
3: 30 "On the Day, when every soul Will be confronted With all the good
3: 30 it has done, And all the evil it has done, It will wish there were
3: 30 A great distance Between it and its evil. But Allah coutions you
3: 30 (To remember) Himself, And Allah is full of kindness To those that
3: 30 serve Him.
3: 30 SECTION 4.
3: 38 There did Zakariya Pray to his Lord, saying: "O my Lord! Grant unto
3: 38 me From Thee a progeny That is pure; for Thou Art He that heareth
3: 38 prayer!"
3: 45 Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee Glad tidings of
3: 45 a Word From Him: his name Will be christ Jesus, The son of Mary,
3: 45 held in honour In this world and the Hereafter And of (the company
3: 45 of) those Nearest to Allah;
3: 49 "And (appoint him) An apostle to the Children Of Israel, (with this
3: 49 message): 'I have come to you, With a Sign from your Lord, In that
3: 49 I make for you Out of clay, as it were, The figure of a bird, And
3: 49 breathe into it, And it becomes a bird By Allah's leave; And I heal
3: 49 those Born blind, and the lepers, And I quicken the dead, By Allah's
3: 49 leave; And I declare to you What ye eat, and what ye store In your
3: 49 houses, Surely Therein is a Sign for you If ye did believe;
3: 55 Behold! Allah said: "O Jesus! I will take thee And raise thee to
3: 55 Myself and clear thee (of the falsehood) Of those who blaspheme;
3: 55 I will make those Who follow thee superior To those who reject
3: 55 faith, To the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all Return unto Me
3: 55 And I will judge Between you of the matters Wherein ye dispute.
3: 56 "As to those who reject Faith, I will punish them With terrible
3: 56 agony In this world and in the Hereafter Nor will they have
3: 56 Anyone to help.
3: 62 This is the true account: There is no god Except Allah; And Allah-
3: 62 He is indeed The Exalted in Power, The Wise.
3: 75 Among the People of the Book Are some who, if entrusted With a
3: 75 hoard of gold, Will (readily) pay it back; Others, who, if
3: 75 entrusted With a single silver coin, Will not repay it unless Thou
3: 75 constantly stoodest Demanding, because, They say, "There is no call
3: 75 On us (to keep faith) With these ignorant (Pagans)." But they tell
3: 75 a lie against Allah, And (well) they know it.
3: 77 As for those who sell The faith they owe to Allah And their own
3: 77 plighted word For a small price, They shall have no portion In the
3: 77 Hereafter: Nor will Allah (Deign to) speak to them Or look at them
3: 77 On the Day of Judgement, Nor will He cleanse them (Of sin): they
3: 77 shall have A grievous Penalty.
3: 78 There is among them A section who distort The Book with their
3: 78 tongues. (As they read) you would think It is a part of the Book,
3: 78 But it is no part Of the Book; and they say, "That is from Allah,"
3: 78 But it is not from Allah:
3: 78 It is they who tell A lie against Allah, And (well)
3: 78 they know it!
3: 85 If anyone desires A religion other than Islam (submission to
3: 85 Allah). Never will it be accepted Of him; and in the Hereafter He
3: 85 will be in the ranks Of those who have lost (All spiritual good).
3: 97 In it are Signs Manifest; (for example), The Station of Abraham;
3: 97 Whoever enters it Attains security; Pilgrimage there to is a duty
3: 97 Men owe to Allah,- Those who can afford The journey; but if any
3: 97 Deny faith, Allah stands not In need of any of His creatures.
3:104 Let there arise out of you A band of people Inviting to all that is
3:104 good, Enjoining what is right, And forbidding what is wrong:- They
3:104 are the ones To attain felicity.
3:107 But those whose faces Will be (lit with) white,- They will be in
3:107 (the light Of) Allah's mercy: therein To dwell (for ever).
3:112 Shame is pitched over them (Like a tent) wherever They are found,
3:112 Except when under a covenant (Of protection) from Allah And from
3:112 men; they draw On themselves wrath from Allah, And pitched over
3:112 them Is (the tent of) destitution. This because they rejected The
3:112 Signs of Allah, and slew The Prophets in defiance of right; This
3:112 because they rebelled And transgressed beyond bounds.
3:116 Those who reject Faith,- Neither their possessions Nor their
3:116 (numerous) progeny Will avail them aught against Allah: They will
3:116 be Companions Of the Fire,- dwelling There in (for ever).
3:125 "Yea,"- if ye remain firm, And act aright, even if The enemy
3:125 should rush here On you in hot haste, Your Lord would help you
3:125 With five thousand angels Making a terrific onslaught."
3:126 Allah made it but a message Of hope for you; and an assurance To
3:126 your hearts: (in any case) There is no help Except from Allah The
3:126 Exalted, the Wise:
3:138 Here is a plain statement To men, a guidance And instruction to
3:138 those Who fear Allah!
3:145 Nor can a soul die Except by Allah's leave, The term being fixed As
3:145 by writing. If any Do desire a reward In this life, We shall give
3:145 it To him; and if any Do desire a reward In the Hereafter, We shall
3:145 Give it to him. And swiftly shall We reward Those that (serve Us
3:145 with) gratitude.
3:148 And Allah gave them A reward in this world, And the excellent
3:148 reward Of the Hereafter. For Allah Loveth those who do good.
3:148 SECTION - 16.
3:152 Allah did indeed fulfil His promise to you When ye with His
3:152 permission Were about to annihilate Your enemy,-until ye flinched
3:152 And fell to disputing About the order And disobeyed it After He
3:152 brought you in sight (Of the Booty) which ye covet. Among you are
3:152 some That hanker after this world And some that desire The
3:152 Hereafter. Then did He Divert you from your foes In order to test
3:152 you, ;But He forgave you: For Allah is full of grace To those who
3:152 believe.
3:153 Behold! ye were climbing up The high ground, without even Casting a
3:153 side glance At anyone, and the Apostle In your rear was calling
3:153 you Back. There did Allah give you One distress after another By
3:153 way of requital, To teach you not to grieve For (the booty )that
3:153 had escaped you And for (the ill) that had befallen you.
3:153 For Allah is well aware Of all that ye do.
3:154 After (the excitement) Of the distress, He sent down Calm on a
3:154 band of you Overcome with slumber, While another band Was stirred
3:154 to anxiety By their own feelings, Moved by wrong suspicions Of
3:154 Allah -suspicions due To Ignorance. They said: "What affair is this
3:154 of ours?" Say thou: "Indeed, this affair Is wholly Allah's."
3:154 They hide In their minds what they Dare not reveal to thee. They
3:154 say (to themselves):"If we had had anything To do with this affair,
3:154 We should not have been In the slaughter here." Say:"Even if
3:154 you had remained In your homes, those For whom death was decreed
3:154 Would certainly have gone forth To the place of their death "; But
3:154 (all this was) That Allah might test What is in your breasts And
3:154 purge what is In your hearts: For Allah knoweth well The secrets of
3:154 your hearts.
3:160 If Allah helps you, None can overcome you: If He forsakes you, Who
3:160 is there, after that, That can help you? In Allah, then, Let
3:160 Believers put their trust.
3:176 Let not those grieve thee Who rush headlong Into Unbelief; Not the
3:176 least harm Will they do to Allah; Allah's Plan is that He will
3:176 give them no portion In the Hereafter, But a severe punishment.
3:183 They (also) said: "Allah took Our promise not to believe In an
3:183 apostle unless He showed us a sacrifice Consumed by fire (From
3:183 heaven)." Say: "There came to you Apostles before me, With Clear
3:183 Signs And even with what Ye ask for: why then, Did ye stay them If
3:183 ye speak the truth?"
3:190 Behold! In the creation Of the heavens and the earth, And the
3:190 alternation Of Night and Day,- There are indeed Signs For men of
3:190 understanding,-
3:195 And their Lord hath accepted Of them, and answered them: "Never
3:195 will I suffer to be lost The work of any of you, Be he male or
3:195 female: Ye are members, one of another: Those who have left their
3:195 homes, Or been driven our therefrom, Or suffered harm in My Cause,
3:195 Or fought or been slain,- Verily, I will blot out From them their
3:195 iniquities, And admit them into Gardens With rivers flowing
3:195 beneath;- A reward from the
3:195 Presence Of Allah, and from His Presence Is the best of rewards."
3:198 On the other hand, for those Who fear their Lord, Are Gardens, with
3:198 rivers Flowing beneath, therein Are they to dwell (for ever),- A
3:198 gift from the Presence of Allah, and that which is In the Presence
3:198 of Allah, Is the best (bliss) For the righteous.
3:199 And there are, certainly, Among the People of the Book, Those who
3:199 believe in Allah, In the revelation to you, And in the revelation
3:199 to them, Bowing in humility to Allah: They will not sell The Signs
3:199 of Allah For a miserable gain! For them is a reward With their
3:199 Lord, And Allah is swift in account.
4: 7 From what is left by parents And those nearest related There is a
4: 7 share for men And a share for women, Whether the property be small
4: 7 Or large,- a determinate share.
4: 13 Those are limits Set by Allah: those who Obey Allah and His Apostle
4: 13 Will be admitted to Gardens With rivers flowing beneath, To abide
4: 13 therein (for ever) And that will be The Supreme achievement.
4: 14 But those who disobey Allah and His Apostle And transgress His
4: 14 limits Will be admitted To a Fire, to abide therein: And they shall
4: 14 have A humiliating punishment.
4: 14 SECTION 3.
4: 19 O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit Women against their
4: 19 will. Nor should ye treat them With harshness, that ye may Take
4: 19 away part of the dower Ye have given them,- except Where they have
4: 19 been guilty Of open lewdness; On the contrary live with them On a
4: 19 footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them It may
4: 19 be that ye dislike A thing, and Allah brings about Through it a
4: 19 great deal of good.
4: 24 Also (prohibited are) Women already married, Except those Whom your
4: 24 right hands possess. Thus hath Allah ordained (Prohibitions)
4: 24 against you: Except for these, all others Are lawful, provided Ye
4: 24 seek (them in marriage) With gifts from your property,- Desiring
4: 24 chastity, not lust. Seeing that ye derive Benefit from them, give
4: 24 them Their dowers (at least) As prescribed; but if, After a dower
4: 24 is prescribed, ye agree Mutually (to vary it), There is no blame on
4: 24 you, And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
4: 25 If any of you have not The means wherewith. To wed free believing
4: 25 women, They may wed believing Girls from among those Whom your
4: 25 right hands possess; And Allah hath full knowledge About your
4: 25 Faith. Ye are one from another: Wed them with the leave Of their
4: 25 owners, and give them, Their owners, according to what Is
4: 25 reasonable: they should be Chaste, not lustful, nor taking
4: 25 Paramours: when they Are taken in wedlock, If they fall into shame,
4: 25 Their punishment is half That for free women. This (permission)
4: 25 is for those Among you who fear sin; But it is better for you That
4: 25 ye practise self-restraint: And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most
4: 25 Merciful.
4: 25 SECTION 5.
4: 29 O ye who believe! Eat not up your property Among yourselves in
4: 29 vanities: But let there be amongst you Traffic and trade By mutual
4: 29 good-will: Nor kill (or destroy) Yourselves: for verily Allah hath
4: 29 been to you Most Merciful!
4: 34 Men are the protectors And maintainers of women, Because Allah has
4: 34 given The one more (strength) Than the other, and because They
4: 34 support them From their means. Therefore the righteous women Are
4: 34 devoutly obedient, and guard In (the husband's) absence What Allah
4: 34 would have them guard. As to those women On whose part ye fear
4: 34 Disloyalty and ill-conduct, Admonish them (first), (Next), refuse
4: 34 to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly): But if they
4: 34 return to obedience, Seek not against them Means (of annoyance):
4: 34 For Allah is Most High, Great (above you all).
4: 40 Allah is never unjust In the least degree: If there is any good
4: 40 (done), He doubleth it, And giveth from His own Presence a great
4: 40 reward.
4: 43 O ye who believe! Approach not prayers With a mind befogged, Until
4: 43 ye can understand All that ye say,- Nor in a state Of ceremonial
4: 43 impurity (Except when traveling on the road), Until after washing
4: 43 Your whole body If ye are ill, Or on a journey, Or one of you
4: 43 cometh From offices of nature, Or ye have been In contact with
4: 43 women, And ye find no water, Then take for yourselves Clean sand or
4: 43 earth, And rub therewith Your faces and hands: For Allah doth blot
4: 43 out sins And forgive again and again.
4: 46 Of the Jews there are those Who displace words From their (right)
4: 46 places, And say: "We hear And we disobey" And "Hear what is not
4: 46 Heard" and "Raina"; With a twist of their tongues And a slander to
4: 46 Faith. If only they had said; "We hear and we obey"; And "Do hear";
4: 46 And "Do look at us": It would have been better For them, and more
4: 46 proper; But Allah hath cursed them For their Unbelief; and but few
4: 46 Of them will believe.
4: 57 But those who believe And do deeds of righteousness, We shall soon
4: 57 admit to Gardens, With rivers flowing beneath,- Their eternal home:
4: 57 Therein shall they have Companions pure and holy: We shall admit
4: 57 them To shades, cool and ever deepening.
4: 72 There are certainly among you Men who would tarry behind: If a
4: 72 misfortune befalls you, They say: "Allah did favour us In that we
4: 72 were not Present among them."
4: 73 But if good fortune comes to you From Allah, they would be sure To
4: 73 say- as if there had never been Ties of affection between you and
4: 73 them- "Oh! I wish I had been with them; A fine thing should I then
4: 73 Have made of it!"
4: 74 Let those fight In the cause of Allah Who sell the life of this
4: 74 world For the Hereafter, To him who fighteth In the cause of
4: 74 Allah,- Whether he is slain Or gets victory- Soon shall We give him
4: 74 A reward of great (value).
4: 77 Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those Who were told to hold back
4: 77 Their hands (from fight) But establish regular prayers And spend in
4: 77 regular Charity? When (at length) the order For fighting was issued
4: 77 to them, Behold! a section of them Feared men as- Or even more
4: 77 than- They should have feared Allah: They said: "Our Lord! Why hast
4: 77 Thou ordered us To fight? Wouldst Thou not Grant us respite To our
4: 77 (natural) term, Near(enough)?" Say: "Short Is the enjoyment of this
4: 77 world: The Hereafter is the best For those who do right: Never will
4: 77 ye be Dealt with unjustly In the very least!
4: 78 "Wherever ye are, Death will find you out, Even if ye are in towers
4: 78 Built up strong and high!" If some good befalls them, They say,
4: 78 "This is from Allah" But if evil, they say, "This is from thee"
4: 78 (O Prophet). "Say: "All things are from Allah." But what hath come
4: 78 To these people, That they fail To understand A single fact?
4: 82 Do they not consider The Qur-an (with care)? Had it been from other
4: 82 Than Allah, they would surely Have found therein Much discrepancy.
4: 83 When there comes to them Some matter touching (Public) safety or
4: 83 fear, They divulge it. If they had only referred it To the Apostle,
4: 83 or to those Charged with authority Among them, the proper Investiga-
4: 83 tors would have Tested it from them (direct). Were it not for the
4: 83 Grace And Mercy of Allah unto you, All but a few of you Would
4: 83 have fallen Into the clutches of Satan.
4: 85 Whoever recommends And helps a good cause Becomes a partner therein
4: 85 And whoever recommends And helps an evil cause, Shares in its
4: 85 burden: And Allah hath power Over all things.
4: 87 Allah! There is no god But He: of a surety He will gather you
4: 87 together Against the Day of Judgment, About which there is no
4: 87 doubt. And whose word can be Truer than Allah's?
4: 87 SECTION - 12.
4: 89 They but wish that ye Should reject Faith, As they do, and thus
4: 89 be On the same footing(as they): But take not friends From their
4: 89 ranks Until they flee In the way of Allah (From what is forbidden).
4: 89 But if they turn renegades, Seize them and slay them Wherever ye
4: 89 find them? And (in any case) take No friends or helpers From their
4: 89 ranks;-
4: 90 Except those who join A group between whom And you there is a
4: 90 treaty,(Of peace), or those who approach You with hearts
4: 90 restraining Them from fighting you As well as fighting their own
4: 90 People. If Allah had pleased, He could have given them Power over
4: 90 you, and they Would have fought you; Therefore if they withdraw
4: 90 From you but fight you not, And (instead) send you (Guarantees of)
4: 90 peace, then Allah Hath opened no way For you (to war against them)
4: 91 Others you will find That wish to gain Your confidence as well
4: 91 As that of their people: Every time they are sent back To
4: 91 temptation, they succumb Thereto: if they withdraw not From you
4: 91 nor give you (guarantees) Of peace besides Restraining their hands,
4: 91 Seize them and slay them. Wherever ye get them In their case We
4: 91 have provided you With a clear argument Against them.
4: 91 SECTION 13.
4: 93 If a man kills a Believer Intentionally, his recompense Is Hell to
4: 93 abide therein (For ever): and the wrath And the curse of Allah Are
4: 93 upon him and A dreadful penalty Is prepared for him.
4: 94 O ye who believe! When ye go abroad In the cause of Allah, Investi-
4: 94 gate carefully, And say not to anyone Who offers you a salutation:
4: 94 "Thou art none of a Believer!"- Coveting the perishable goods Of
4: 94 this life: with Allah Are profits and spoils abundant. Even thus
4: 94 were ye yourselves Before, till Allah conferred On you His favours:
4: 94 therefore Carefully investigate, For Allah is well aware Of all
4: 94 that ye do.
4: 99 For these, there is hope That Allah will forgive; For Allah doth
4: 99 blot (sins) And forgive again and again.
4:101 When ye travel Through the earth, There is no blame you If ye
4:101 shorten your prayers, For fear the Unbelievers May attack you; For
4:101 the Unbelievers are Unto you open enemies.
4:102 When thou (O Apostle) Art with them, and standest To lead them in
4:102 prayer, Let one party of them Stand up (in prayer) with thee
4:102 Taking their arms with them; When they finish Their prostrations,
4:102 let them Take their positions in the rear, And let the other party
4:102 come up- Which hath not yet prayed- And let them pray with thee ,
4:102 Taking all precautions, And bearing arms: The Unbelievers wish,
4:102 If ye were negligent Of your arms and your baggage To assault
4:102 you in a single rush, But there is no blame on you If ye put
4:102 away your arms Because of the inconvenience Of rain or because ye
4:102 are ill; But take (every) precaution For yourselves. For the
4:102 Unbelievers Allah hath prepared A humiliating punishment.
4:114 In most of their secret talks There is no good: but if One exhorts
4:114 to a deed Of charity or justice Or conciliation between men,
4:114 (Secrecy is permissible): To him who does this, Seeking the good
4:114 pleasure Of Allah, We shall soon give A reward of the highest
4:114 (value).
4:122 But those who believe And do deeds of righteousness,- We shall soon
4:122 admit them To Gardens, with revers Flowing beneath,- to dwell There
4:122 for ever. Allah's promise is the truth, And whose word can be Truer
4:122 than Allah's?
4:127 They ask thy instruction Concerning the Women, Say: Allah doth
4:127 Instruct you about them: And (remember) what hath Been rehearsed
4:127 unto you In the Book, concerning The orphans of women to whom Ye
4:127 give not the portions Prescribed, and yet whom ye Desire to marry,
4:127 as also Concerning the children Who are weak and oppressed: That ye
4:127 stand firm For justice to orphans. There is not a good deed Which
4:127 ye do, but Allah Is well-acquainted therewith.
4:128 If a wife fears Cruelty or desertion On her husband's part, There
4:128 is no blame on them If they arrange An amicable settlement Between
4:128 themselves; And such settlement is best; Even though men's souls
4:128 Are swayed by greed. But if ye do good And practise self-restraint,
4:128 Allah is well-acquainted With all that ye do.
4:134 If anyone desires A reward in this life, In Allah's (gift) is the
4:134 reward (Both) of this life And of the Hereafter: For Allah is He
4:134 that heareth And seeth (all things).
4:134 SECTION 20.
4:138 To the Hypocrites give The glad tidings that There is for them
4:138 (But) a grievous Penalty:-
4:148 Allah loveth not that evil Should be noised abroad In public
4:148 speech, except Where injustice hath been Done; for Allah Is He Who
4:148 heareth And knoweth all things.
4:157 That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus The son of Mary,
4:157 The Apostle of Allah":- But they killed him not, Nor crucified him,
4:157 But so it was made To appear to them, And those who differ Therein
4:157 are full of doubts, With no (certain) knowledge, But only
4:157 conjecture to follow, For of a surety They killed him not;-
4:159 And there is none Of the People of the Book But must believe in him
4:159 Before his death; And on the Day of Judgment He will be a witness
4:159 Against them;-
4:169 Except the way of Hell,To dwell therein for ever: And this to Allah
4:169 is easy.
4:174 O mankind! Verily There hath come to you A convincing proof From
4:174 your Lord: For We have sent unto you A light (that is) manifest.
4:176 They ask thee For a legal decision. Say: Allah directs (thus) About
4:176 those who leave No descendants or ascendants As heirs. If it is a
4:176 man 681 That dies, leaving a sister But no child, she shall Have
4:176 half the inheritance: If (such a deceased was) A woman, who left no
4:176 child, Her brother takes her inheritance: If there are two sisters,
4:176 They shall have two-thirds Of the inheritance (Between them): if
4:176 there are Brothers and sisters, (they share), The male having twice
4:176 The share of the female. Thus doth Allah make clear To you (His
4:176 law), lest Ye err. And Allah Hath knowledge of all things.
5: 6 This day are (all) things Good and pure made lawful Unto you. The
5: 6 food Of the People of the Book Is lawful unto you And yours is
5: 6 lawful Unto them. (Lawful unto you in marriage) Are (not only)
5: 6 chaste women Who are believers, but Chaste women among The People
5: 6 of the Book, Reaveled before your time,- when ye give them Their
5: 6 due dowers, and desire Chastity, not lewdness, Nor secret
5: 6 intrigues. If anyone rejects faith, Fruitless is his work, And in
5: 6 the Hereafter He will be in the ranks Of those who have lost (All
5: 6 spiritual good).
5: 7 O ye who believe! When ye prepare For prayer, wash Your faces, and
5: 7 your hands (And arms) to the elbows; Rub your heads (with water);
5: 7 And (wash) your feet To the ankles. If ye are in a state Of
5: 7 ceremonial impurity, Bathe your whole body. But if ye are ill, Or
5: 7 on a journey, Or one of you, cometh From offices of nature, Or ye
5: 7 have been In contact with women, And ye find no water, Then take
5: 7 for yourselves Clean sand or earth, And rub therewith Your faces
5: 7 and hands Allah doth not wish To place you in a difficulty, But to
5: 7 make you clean, And to complete His favour to you, That ye may be
5: 7 grateful.
5: 16 O People of the Book! There hath come to you Our Apostle,
5: 16 revealing To you much that ye Used to hide in the Book, And
5: 16 passing over much (That is now unnecessary):
5: 17 There hath come to you From Allah a (new) light And a perspicuous
5: 17 Book,-
5: 18 Wherewith Allah guideth all Who seek His good pleasure To ways of
5: 18 peace and safety, And leadeth them out Of darkness, by His Will,
5: 18 Unto the light,- guideth them To a Path that is Straight.
5: 21 Of People of the Book! Now hath come unto you, Making (things)
5: 21 clear unto you, Our Apostle, after the break In (the series of) Our
5: 21 apostles, Lest ye should say: There came unto us No bringer of glad
5: 21 tidings And no warner (from evil)" But now hath come Unto you a
5: 21 bringer Of glad tidings And a warner (from evil): And Allah hath
5: 21 power Over all things.
5: 21 SECTION 4.
5: 27 They said: "Moses! While they remain there, Never shall we be able
5: 27 To enter, to the end of time. Go thou, and thy Lord, And fight ye
5: 27 two, While we sit here (And watch)."
5: 29 Allah said: "Therefore Will the land be out Of their reach for
5: 29 forty years; In distraction will they Wander through the land: But
5: 29 sorrow thou not Over these rebellious people."
5: 29 SECTION 5.
5: 35 On that account: We ordained For the Children of Israel That if
5: 35 anyone slew A person- unless it be For murder or for spreading
5: 35 Mischief in the land- It would be as if He slew the whole people:
5: 35 And if anyone saved a life, It would be as if he saved The life of
5: 35 the whole people. Then although there came To them Our Apostles
5: 35 With Clear Signs, yet, Even after that, many Of them continued to
5: 35 commit Excesses in the land.
5: 36 The punishment of those Who wage war against Allah And His Apostle,
5: 36 and strive With might and main For mischief through the land Is:
5: 36 execution, or crucifixion, Or the cutting off of hands And feet
5: 36 from opposit sides, Or exile from the land: That is their disgrace
5: 36 In this world, and A heavy punishment is theirs In the Hereafter;
5: 40 Their wish will be To get out of the Fire, But never will they Get
5: 40 out therefrom: Their Penalty will be One that endures.
5: 44 O Apostle! let not Those grieve thee, who race Each other into
5: 44 Unbelief: (Whether it be) among those Who say: "We believe" With
5: 44 their lips but Whose hearts have no faith; Or it be among the
5: 44 Jews,- Men who will listen To any lie,-will listen Even to others
5: 44 who have Never so much as come To thee. They change the words From
5: 44 their (right) times And places; they say, "If ye are given this,
5: 44 Take it, but if not, Beware!" If anyone's trial Is intended by
5: 44 Allah, thou hast No authority in the least For him against Allah.
5: 44 For such- it is not Allah's will to purify Their hearts. For them
5: 44 There is disgrace In this world, and In the Hereafter A heavy
5: 44 punishment.
5: 46 But why do they come To thee for decision, When they have (their
5: 46 own) Laws before them?- Therein is the (plain) Command of Allah;
5: 46 yet Even after that, they would Turn away. For they Are not
5: 46 (really) People of Faith.
5: 46 SECTION 7.
5: 47 It was We Who revealed The Law (to Moses); therein Was guidance and
5: 47 light. By its standard have been judged The Jews, by the Prophet
5: 47 Who bowed (as in Islam) To Allah's Will, by the Rabbis And the
5: 47 Doctors of Law: For to them was entrusted The protection of Allah's
5: 47 Book, And they were witnesses there to: Therefore fear not men, But
5: 47 fear Me, and sell not My Signs for a miserable price If any do fail
5: 47 to judge By (the light of) what Allah Hath revealed, they are (No
5: 47 better than) Unbelievers.
5: 48 We ordained therein for them: "Life for life, eye for eye, Nose for
5: 48 nose, ear for ear, Tooth for tooth, and wounds Equal for equal,"
5: 48 But if Anyone remits the retaliation By way of charity, it is An
5: 48 act of atonement for himself. And if any fail to judge By, (the
5: 48 light of) what Allah Hath revealed, they are (No better than)
5: 48 wrong-doers.
5: 49 And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son Of Mary, confirming
5: 49 The Law that had come Before him: We sent him The Gospel: therein
5: 49 Was guidance and light, And confirmation of the Law That had come
5: 49 before him: A guidance and an admonition To those who fear Allah.
5: 50 Let the People of the Gospel Judge by what Allah hath revealed
5: 50 Therein. If any do fail To judge by (the light of) What Allah hath
5: 50 revealed, They are (no better than) Those who rebel.
5: 69 If only they had stood fast By the Law the Gospel, And all the
5: 69 revelation that was sent To them from their Lord, They would have
5: 69 enjoyed Happiness from every side. There is from among them A party
5: 69 on the right course; But many of them Follow a course that is evil.
5: 69 SECTION 10.
5: 73 We took the Covenant Of the Children of Israel And sent them
5: 73 Apostles. Every time there came To them an apostle With what they
5: 73 themselves Desired not-some (Of these) they called Impostors, and
5: 73 some they (Go so far as to) slay .
5: 74 They thought there would be No trial (or punishment ); So they
5: 74 became blind and deaf: Yet Allah (in mercy) turned To them: yet
5: 74 again many Of them became blind and deaf. But Allah sees well All
5: 74 that they do.
5: 75 They do blaspheme who say: "Allah is Christ the son Of Mary." But
5: 75 said Christ: "O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord And your
5: 75 Lord." Whoever Joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him
5: 75 The Garden, and the Fire Will be his abode. There will For the
5: 75 wrong-doers Be no one to help.
5: 76 They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three In a Trinity:
5: 76 for there is No god except One Allah. If they desist not From
5: 76 their word (of blasphemy), Verily a grievous penalty Will befall
5: 76 the blasphemers Among them.
5: 96 On those who believe And do deeds of righteousness There is no
5: 96 blame For what they ate (in the past), When they guard themselves
5: 96 From evil and believe,- And do deeds of righteousness,- (Or) again,
5: 96 guard themselves From evil and believe, (Or) again, guard
5: 96 themselves From evil and do good. For Allah loveth those Who do
5: 96 good.
5: 96 SECTION 13.
5: 97 O ye who believe! Allah doth but make a trial of you In a little
5: 97 matter Of game well within reach Of your hands and your lances,
5: 97 That He may test Who feareth Him unseen: Any who transgress
5: 97 Thereafter will have A grievous penalty.
5: 99 Lawful to you is the pursuit Of water-game and its use For food,-
5: 99 for the benefit Of yourselves and those who Travel; but forbidden
5: 99 Is the pursuit of land-game;- As long as ye are In the Sacred
5: 99 Precincts Or in pilgrim garb. And fear Allah, to Whom Ye shall be
5: 99 gathered back.
5:116 They said: "we only wish To eat thereof and satisfy Our hearts, and
5:116 to know That thou hast indeed Told us the truth; and That we
5:116 ourselves may be Witnesses to the miracle."
5:117 Said Jessus the son of Mary: "O Allah our lord! Send us from heaven
5:117 A Table set (with viands), That there may be for us- For the first
5:117 and the last of us- A solemn festival And a Sign from Thee; And
5:117 provide for our sustenance, For thou art the best Sustainer (of our
5:117 needs)."
5:123 To Allah doth belong the dominion Of the heavens and the earth, And
5:123 all that is therein, And it is He Who hath power Over all things.
6: 2 He it is Who created You from clay, and then Decreed a stated term
6: 2 (For you). And there is In His Presence another Determined term;
6: 2 yet Ye doubt within yourselves!
6: 4 But never did a single One of the Signs Of their Lord reach them,
6: 4 But they turned Away therefrom.
6: 12 Say: "To whom belongeth All that is in the heavens And on earth?"
6: 12 Say: "To Allah. He hath inscribed For Himself (the rule of) Mercy
6: 12 That He will gather you Together for the Day of Judgment, There is
6: 12 no doubt whatever. It is they who have lost Their own souls, that
6: 12 will Not believe.
6: 19 Say: "What thing is most Weighty in evidence?" Say: "Allah is
6: 19 witness Between me and you: This Qur-an hath been Revealed to me
6: 19 by inspiration That I may warn you And all whom it reaches. Can ye
6: 19 possibly bear witness That besides Allah there is Another god?"
6: 19 Say: "Nay! I cannot bear witness!" Say: "But in truth He is the One
6: 19 God. And I truly am innocent Of (your blasphemy of) joining Others
6: 19 with Him."
6: 20 Those to whom We have given the Book Know this as they know 850
6: 20 Their own sons. Those who have lost Their own souls Refuse
6: 20 therefore to believe.
6: 20 SECTION 3.
6: 22 One day shall We gather Them all together: We Shall say to those
6: 22 Who ascribed partners (to Us): "Where are the partners Whom ye
6: 22 (invented And) talked about?"
6: 23 There will then be (left) No subterfuge for them But to say: "By
6: 23 Allah, Our Lord, we were not Those who joined gods With Allah."
6: 25 Of them there are some Who (pretend to) listen to thee; But We have
6: 25 thrown Veils on their hearts, So they understand it not, And
6: 25 deafness in their ears; If they saw every one Of the Signs, not
6: 25 they Will believe in them; In so much that When they come to thee,
6: 25 They (but) dispute with thee; The Unbelievers say: "These are
6: 29 And they (sometimes) say: "There is nothing except Our life on this
6: 29 earth, And never shall we be Raised up again."
6: 32 What is the life of this world But play and amusement? But best is
6: 32 the Home In the Hereafter, for those Who are righteous. Will ye not
6: 32 then understand?
6: 34 Rejected were the Apostles Before thee: with patience And constancy
6: 34 they bore Their rejection and their wrongs, Until Our aid did reach
6: 34 Them: there is none That can alter the Words (And Decrees)of Allah.
6: 34 Already hast thou received Some account of those Apostles.
6: 38 There is not an animal (That lives) on the earth, Nor a being that
6: 38 flies On its wings, but (forms Part of) communities like you.
6: 38 Nothing have We omitted From the Book, and they (all) Shall be
6: 38 gathered to their Lord In the end.
6: 40 Say: "Think ye to yourselves, If there come upon you The Wrath of
6: 40 Allah, Or the Hour (that ye dread), Would ye then call upon Other
6: 40 than Allah?- (Reply) if ye are truthful!
6: 54 When those come to thee Who believe in Our Signs, Say: "Peace be on
6: 54 you: Your Lord had inscribed For Himself (the rule 874 Of) Mercy:
6: 54 verily, If any of you did evil In ignorance, and thereafter
6: 54 Repented and amended (His conduct), lo! He is Oft-Forgiving, Most
6: 54 Merciful."
6: 59 With Him are the keys Of the Unseen, the treasures That none
6: 59 knoweth but He. He knoweth whatever there is On the earth and in
6: 59 the sea. Not a leaf doth fall But with His knowledge: There is not
6: 59 a grain In the darkness (or depths) Of the earth, nor anything
6: 59 Fresh or dry (green or withered). But is (inscribed) in a Record
6: 59 Clear (to those who can read).
6: 72 "To establish regular prayers And to fear Allah; For it is to Him
6: 72 That we shall be Gathered together."
6: 91 No just estimate of Allah Do they make when they say: "Nothing doth
6: 91 Allah send down To man (by way of revelation)": Say: "Who then sent
6: 91 down The Book which Moses brought?- A light and guidance to man:
6: 91 But ye make it into (Separate) sheets for show, While ye conceal
6: 91 much (Of its contents): therein Were ye taught that Which ye knew
6: 91 not- Neither ye nor your fathers." Say: "Allah (sent it down)":
6: 91 Then leave them to plunge In vain discourse and trifling.
6: 92 And this is a Book Which We have revealed, Bringing blessings, and
6: 92 confirming (The revelations) which came Before it: that thou Mayest
6: 92 warn the Mother Of Cities and all around her. Those who believe In
6: 92 the Hereafter Believe in this (Book) And they are constant In
6: 92 guarding their Prayers.
6: 98 It is He Who hath Produced you From a single person: Here is a
6: 98 place of so journ And a place of departure: We detail Our Signs For
6: 98 people who understand.
6: 99 It is He Who sendeth down Rain from the skies; With it We produce
6: 99 Vegetation of all kinds: From some We produce Green (crops), out
6: 99 of which We produce grain, Heaped up (at harvest); Out of the
6: 99 date-palm And its sheaths (or spathes) (Come) clusters of dates
6: 99 Hanging low and near: And (then there are) gardens Of grapes, and
6: 99 olives, And pomegranates, Each similar (in kind) Yet different (in
6: 99 variety): When they begin to bear fruit, Feast your eye with the
6: 99 fruit, And the ripeness thereof. Behold! in these things There are
6: 99 Signs for people Who believe.
6:102 That is Allah your Lord! There is no god but He, The Creator of all
6:102 things: Then worship ye Him: And He hath power To dispose of all
6:102 affairs.
6:104 How have come to you, From your Lord, proofs To open your eyes: If
6:104 any will see, It will be for (the good Of) his own soul; If any
6:104 will be blind, It will be to his own (Harm): I am not (here) To
6:104 watch over your doings."
6:106 Follow what thou art tautht By inspiration from the Lord: There is
6:106 no god but He: And turn aside from those Who join gods with Allah.
6:111 Even if We did send Unto them angels, And the dead did speak Unto
6:111 them, and We gathered Together all things before Their very eyes,
6:111 they are not The ones to believe, Unless it is in Allah's Plan:
6:111 But most of them Ignore (the truth).
6:113 To such (deceit) Let the hearts of those Incline, who have no faith
6:113 In the Hereafter: let them Delight in it, and let them Earn from it
6:113 what they may.
6:122 Can he who was dead, To whom We gave life, And a Light whereby He
6:122 can walk amongst men, Be like him who is In the depths of darkness,
6:122 From which he can Never come out? Thus to those without Faith Their
6:122 own deeds seem pleasing.
6:123 Thus have We placed Leaders in every town, Its wicked men, to plot
6:123 (And burrow) therein: But they only plot Against their own souls,
6:123 And they perceive it not.
6:124 When there comes to them A Sign (from Allah), They say: "We shall
6:124 not Believe until we receive One (exactly) like those Received by
6:124 Allah's apostles." Allah knoweth best where (And how) to carry out
6:124 His mission. Soon Will the wicked Be overtaken by Humiliation
6:124 before Allah, And a severe punishment, For all their plots.
6:128 One day will He gather Them all together, (and say): "O ye assembly
6:128 of Jinns! Much (toll) did ye take Of men." Their friends Amongst
6:128 men will say: "Our Lord! we made profit From each other: but
6:128 (alas!) We reached our term- Which Thou didst appoint For us." He
6:128 will say: "The Fire be your dwelling -place You will dwell therein
6:128 for ever, Except as Allah willeth." For thy Lord is full Of wisdom
6:128 and knowledge.
6:130 O ye assembly of Jinns And men! came there not Unto you apostles
6:130 from amongst you, Setting forth unto you My Signs, and warning you
6:130 Of the meeting of this Day Of yours?" They will say: "We bear
6:130 witness against Ourselves." It was The life of this world That
6:130 deceived them. So Against themselves will they Bear witness that
6:130 they Rejected Faith.
6:135 Say : "O my people! Do whatever ye can: I will do (my part): Soon
6:135 will ye know Who it is whose end Will be (best) in the Hereafter:
6:135 Certain it is that The wrong-doers will not prosper."
6:138 And they say that Such and such cattle and crops Are taboo, and
6:138 none should Eat of them except those Whom- so they say- We Wish;
6:138 further, there are Cattle forbidden to yoke Or burden, and cattle
6:138 On which (at slaughter), The name of Allah is not Pronounced;
6:138 -inventions Against Allah's name: soon Will He requite them For
6:138 their inventions.
6:139 They say: "What is In the wombs of Such and such cattle Is
6:139 specially reserved (For food) for our men, And forbidden to our
6:139 women; But if it is still-born, Then all have shares therein." For
6:139 their (false) attribution (Of superstitions to Allah), He will soon
6:139 punish them: For He is full Of wisdom and knowledge.
6:141 It is He Who produceth Gardens, with trellises And without, and
6:141 dates, And tilth with produce Of all kinds, and olives And
6:141 pomegranates, Similar (in kind) And different (in variety): Eat
6:141 of their fruit In their season, but render The dues that are proper
6:141 On the day that the harvest Is gathered. But waste not By excess:
6:141 for Allah Loveth not the wasters.
6:146 For those who followed The Jewish Law, We forbade Every (animal)
6:146 with Undivided hoof, And We forbade them The fat of the ox And the
6:146 sheep, except What adheres to their backs Or their entrails, Or is
6:146 mixed up With a bone: This in recompense For their wilful
6:146 disobedience: For We are True (In Our ordinances).
6:150 Say: "Bring forward your witnesses To prove that Allah did Forbid
6:150 so and so." If they Bring such witnesses, Be not thou amongst them:
6:150 Nor follow thou the vain Desires of such as treat Our Signs as
6:150 falsehoods, And such as believe not In the Hereafter: for they Hold
6:150 others as equal With their Guardian-Lord.
6:150 SECTION 19.
6:157 Or lest ye should say: "If the Book had only Been sent down to us,
6:157 We should have followed Its guidance better than they." Now then
6:157 hath come Unto you a Clear (Sign) From your Lord,- and a guide And
6:157 a mercy: then who Could do more wrong Than one who rejecteth
6:157 Allah's Signs, and turneth Away therefrom? In good time Shall We
6:157 requite those Who turn away from Our Signs, With a dreadful
6:157 penalty, For their turning away.
6:164 Say: "Shall I seek For (my) Cherisher Other than Allah, When He is
6:164 the Cherisher Of all things (that exist)? Every soul draws the meed
6:164 Of its acts on none But itself: no bearer Of burdens can bear The
6:164 burden of another. Your goal in the end Is towards Allah: He will
6:164 tell You the truth of the things Wherein ye disputed.
7: 10 It is We Who have Placed you with authority On earth, and provided
7: 10 You therein with means For the fulfilment of your life : Small
7: 10 are the thanks That ye give!
7: 10 SECTION 2.
7: 13 (Allah) said:"Get thee down From this: it is not For thee to be
7: 13 arrogant, Here get out, for thou Art of the meanest(of creatures)."
7: 25 He said:"Therein shall ye Live, and therin shall ye Die: but
7: 25 from it shall ye Be taken out (at last).
7: 25 SECTION 3.
7: 27 O ye Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you, In the same
7: 27 manner as He got your parents out Of the Garden, stripping them
7: 27 Of their raiment, to expose Their shame: for he And his tribe
7: 27 watch you From a position where ye Cannot see them: We made The
7: 27 Evil Ones friends (Only) to those without Faith.
7: 35 O ye Children of Adam! Whenever there come to you Apostles from
7: 35 amongst you, Rehearsing My Signs unto you,- Those who are righteous
7: 35 And mend (their lives),- On them shall be no fear, Nor shall they
7: 35 grieve.
7: 36 But those who reject Our Signs and treat them With arrogance,-
7: 36 they Are Companions of the Fire, To dwell therein (for ever).
7: 37 Who is more unjust Than one who invents A lie against Allah Or
7: 37 rejects His Signs? For such, their portion Appointed must reach
7: 37 them From the Book (of Decrees); Until, when Our messengers (Of
7: 37 death) arrive and take Their souls, they say: "Where are the things
7: 37 That ye used to invoke Besides Allah?" They will reply, "They Have
7: 37 left us in the lurch," And they will bear witness Against
7: 37 themselves, that they Had rejected Allah.
7: 40 To those who reject Our Signs and treat them With arrogance, no
7: 40 opening Will there be of the gates Of heaven, nor will they Enter
7: 40 the Garden, until The camel can pass Through the eye of the needle:
7: 40 Such is Our reward For those in sin.
7: 41 For them there is Hell, as a couch (Below) and folds and folds Of
7: 41 covering above: such Is Our requital of those Who do wrong.
7: 42 But those who believe And work righteousness,- No burden do We
7: 42 place On any soul, but that Which it can bear,- They will be
7: 42 Companions Of the Garden, therein To dwell (for ever).
7: 45 "Those who would hinder (men) From the path of Allah And would seek
7: 45 in it Something crooked: They were those who Denied the Hereafter."
7: 46 Between them shall be A veil and on the Heights Will be men Who
7: 46 would know everyone By his marks: they will call Out to the
7: 46 Companions Of the Garden, "Peace on you": They will not have
7: 46 entered, But they will have An assurance (thereof).
7: 57 It is He Who sendeth The Winds like heralds Of glad tidings, going
7: 57 before His Mercy: when they have Carried the heavy-laden Clouds, We
7: 57 drive them To a land that is dead, Make rain to descend thereon,
7: 57 And produce every kind Of harvest therewith: thus Shall We raise up
7: 57 the dead: Perchance ye may remember.
7: 61 He said:"O my people! No wandering is there In my (mind): on the
7: 61 contrary I am an apostle from The Lord and Cherisher Of the Worlds!
7: 63 "Do ye wonder that There hath come to you A message from your Lord,
7: 63 Through a man of your own People, to warn you,- So that ye may fear
7: 63 Allah And haply receive His Mercy?"
7: 69 "Do ye wonder that There hath come to you A messege from your Lord
7: 69 Through a man of your own People, to warn you? Call in remembrance
7: 69 That He made you Inheritors after the people Of Noah, and gave you
7: 69 A stature tall among the nations. Call in remembrance The benefits
7: 69 (ye have received) From Allah: that so Ye may prosper."
7: 72 Who saved him and those Who adhered to 'him. By our Mercy, and We
7: 72 Cut off the roots of those Who rejected Our Signs And did not
7: 72 believe.
7: 72 SECTION 10.
7: 87 "And if there is a party Among you who believes In the Message with
7: 87 which I have been sent, and a party Which does not believe, Hold
7: 87 yourselves in patience Until Allah doth decide Between us: for He
7: 87 Is the best to decide."
7: 89 "We should indeed invent A lie against Allah, If we returned to
7: 89 your ways After Allah hath rescued Us therefrom: nor could we By
7: 89 any manner of means Return thereto unless it be As in the Will and
7: 89 Plan of Allah, Our Lord. Our Lord Can reach out to the utmost
7: 89 Recesses of things by His Knowledge. In Allah is our trust. Our
7: 89 Lord! Decide thou Between us and our people In truth, for Thou
7: 89 Art the best to decide."
7: 92 The men who rejcted Shu'aib became as if They had never been In the
7: 92 homes where they Had flourished; the men Who rejected Shu'aib- It
7: 92 was they who were ruined!
7:101 Such were the towns Whose story We (thus) Relate unto thee: There
7:101 came indeed to them Their apostles with clear (Signs): But they
7:101 would not believe What they had rejected before. Thus doth Allah
7:101 seal up The heart of those Who reject Faith.
7:113 So there came The sorcerers to Pharaoh: They said "Of course We
7:113 shall have a (suitable) Reward if we win!"
7:119 So the (great ones) were vanquished There and then, and were Made
7:119 to look small.
7:132 They said (to Moses): "Whatever be the Signs Thou bringest, to
7:132 work Therewith the sorcery on us, We shall never believe In thee."
7:137 And We made a people, Considered weak (and of no account),
7:137 Inheritors of lands In both East and West,- Lands whereon We sent
7:137 Down Our blessings. The fair promise of the Lord Was fulfilled for
7:137 the Children Of Israel, because they had Patience and constancy,
7:137 And We levelled to the ground The great Works and fine Buildings
7:137 Which Pharaoh and his people Erected (with such pride).
7:147 Those who reject Our Signs And the Meeting in the Hereafter,- Vain
7:147 are their deeds: Can they except to be rewarded Except as they have
7:147 wrought?
7:147 SECTION 18.
7:153 But those who do wrong But repent thereafter and (Truly) believe,-
7:153 verily Thy Lord is thereafter Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
7:154 When the anger of Moses Was appeased, he took up The Tablets:
7:154 in the writing Thereon was Guidance and Mercy for such as fear
7:154 their Lord.
7:156 "And ordain for us That which is good, In this life And in the
7:156 Hereafter: For we have turned unto Thee. "He said : "With My
7:156 Punishment I visit whom I will; But My Mercy extendeth To all
7:156 things. That (Mercy) I shall ordain for those Who do right, and
7:156 practise Regular charity, and those Who believe in Our Signs;-
7:158 "Say :"O men! I am sent Unto you all , as the Apostle Of Allah,
7:158 to Whom belongeth The dominion of the heavens, And the earth:
7:158 there is no god But He : it is He that giveth Both life and death,
7:158 So believe In Allah and His Apostle, The unlettered Prophet, Who
7:158 believed in Allah And His Words: follow him That (so) ye may be
7:158 guided."
7:159 Of the people of Moses There is a section Who guide and do justice
7:159 In the light of truth.
7:160 We diveded them into twelve Tribes Or nations. We directed Moses
7:160 by inspiration, When his (thirsty) people asked Him for water:
7:160 "Strike the rock With thy staff": out of it There gushed forth
7:160 twelve springs: Each group knew its own place For water. We gave
7:160 them The shade of clouds, and sent Down to them manna and quails,
7:160 (saying):"Eat of the good things We have provided for you":
7:160 (But they rebelled); to Us They did no harm but They harmed
7:160 their own souls.
7:168 We broke them up Into sections on this earth. There are among them
7:168 some That are the righteous, and some That are the opposite, We
7:168 have tried them With both prosperity and adversity: In order that
7:168 they Might turn (to Us).
7:169 After them succeeded An (evil) generation: they Inherited the Book,
7:169 but They chose (for themselves) The vanities of this world, Saying
7:169 (for excuse): "(Everything) Will be forgiven us." (Even so), if
7:169 similar vanities Came their way, they would (Again) seize them. Was
7:169 not the covenant Of the Book taken from them, That they would not
7:169 Ascribe to Allah anything But the truth? And they Study what is in
7:169 the Book. But best for the righteous Is the Home in the Hereafter:
7:169 Will ye not understand?
7:171 When We shook the Mount Over them, as if it had been A canopy, and
7:171 they thought It was going to fall on them (We said): "Hold firmly,
7:171 To what We have given you And bring (even) to remembrance What is
7:171 therein; Perchance ye may fear Allah."
7:171 SECTION 22.
7:179 Many are the Jinns and men We have made for Hell: They have hearts
7:179 wherewith they Understand not, eyes wherewith They see not, and
7:179 ears wherewith They hear not. They are Like cattle,- nay more
7:179 Misguided: for they Are heedless (of warning).
7:181 O those We have created Are people who direct (Others) with truth,
7:181 And dispense justice therewith.
7:181 SECTION 23.
7:186 To such as Allah rejects From His guidance, there can be No guide;
7:186 He will Leave them in their trespasses, Wandering in distraction.
7:187 They ask thee about The (final) Hour- when Will be its appointed
7:187 time? Say: "The knowledge thereof Is with my Lord (alone): None but
7:187 He can reveal As to when it will occur. Heavy were its burden
7:187 through The heavens and the earth. Only, all of a sudden, Will it
7:187 come to you." They ask thee as if thou Wert eager in search
7:187 thereof: Say: "The knowledge thereof Is with Allah (alone), But
7:187 most men know not."
8: 10 Allah made it but a message Of hope, and an assurance To your
8: 10 hearts: (in any case) There is no help Except from Allah: And Allah
8: 10 is Exalted in Power, Wise.
8: 10 SECTION 2.
8: 11 Remember He covered you With a sort of drowsiness, To give you calm
8: 11 as from Himself, and He caused Rain to descend on you From heaven,
8: 11 to clean you Therewith, to remove from you The stain of Satan, To
8: 11 strengthen your hearts, And to plant your feet Firmly therewith.
8: 24 O ye who believe! Give your response to Allah And His Apostle, when
8: 24 He calleth you to that which Will give you life; And know that
8: 24 Allah Cometh in between a man And his heart, and that It is He to
8: 24 Whom Ye shall (all) be gathered.
8: 36 The Unbelievers spend their wealth To hinder (men) from the path Of
8: 36 Allah, and so will they Continue to spend; but In the end they will
8: 36 have (Only) regrets and sighs; At length they will be overcome; And
8: 36 the Unbelivers will be Gathered together to Hell;-
8: 39 And fight them on Until there is no more Tumult or oppression. And
8: 39 there prevail Justice and faith in Allah Altogether and everywhere;
8: 39 But if they cease, verily Allah Doth see all that they do.
8: 65 O Apostle! rouse the Believers To the fight. If there are Twenty
8: 65 amongst you, patient And persevering, they will Vanquish two
8: 65 hundred: if a hundred, They will vanquish a thousand Of the
8: 65 Unbelievers: for these Are a people without understanding.
8: 66 For the present, Allah Hath lightened your (task), For He knoweth
8: 66 that there is A weak spot in you: But (even so), if there are A
8: 66 hundred of you, patient And persevering, they will Vanquish two
8: 66 hundred, and if A thousand, they will vanquish Two thousand, with
8: 66 the leave Of Allah: for Allah is with those Who patiently persevere
8: 66 perservere.
8: 67 It is not fitting for an Apostle That he should have Prisoners of
8: 67 war until He hath thoroughly subdued The land. Ye look On the
8: 67 temporal goods Of this world; but Allah Looketh to the Hereafter;
8: 67 And Allah is Exalted in Might, Wise.
8: 73 The Unbelievers are Protectors, one of another: Unless ye do this,
8: 73 (Protect each other), There would be Tumult and oppression On
8: 73 earth, and great mischief.
9: 5 But when the forbidden months Are past, then fight and slay The
9: 5 Pagans wherever ye findthem And seize them, beleaguer them And lie
9: 5 in wait for them In every stratagem(of war); But if they repent,
9: 5 And establish regular prayers And practise regular charity, then
9: 5 open the way for them: For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
9: 6 If one amongst the Pagans Ask thee for asylum, Grant it to him
9: 6 So that he may hear the Word of Allah and then escort him To where
9: 6 he can be secure: That is because they are Men without knowledge.
9: 6 SECTION 2.
9: 7 How can there be a league Before Allah and His Apostle, With the
9: 7 Pagans, except those With whom ye made a treaty Near the Sacred
9: 7 Mosque? As long as these stand true To you, stand ye true to them:
9: 7 For Allah doth love the righteous.
9: 8 How(can there be such a league)Seeing thah if they get an advantage
9: 8 Over you they respect not In you the ties either of kinship Or of
9: 8 covenant? With (fair words From) thier mouths they enitce you But
9: 8 their hearts are averse From you; and most of them Are rebellious.
9: 21 Their Lord doth give them Glad tidings of a Mercy From Himself,
9: 21 of His good pleasure And of Gardens for them, wherein are delights
9: 21 That endure:
9: 22 They will dwell therein Forever. Verily in Allah's Presence
9: 22 Is a reward the greatest (of all)
9: 31 They take their priests And their anchorits to be Their lords in
9: 31 derogation of Allah' And (they take as their Lords) Christ the son
9: 31 of Mary; Yet they were commanded To worship but One Allah: There is
9: 31 no god but He. Praise and glory to Him : (Far is He) from having
9: 31 The parents they associate (With Him).
9: 34 O ye who believe! There are Indeed many among the priests And
9: 34 anchorites who in falsehood Levour the substance of men And hinder
9: 34 (them) from the Way Of Allah. And there are those Who bury gold and
9: 34 silver And spend it not in the Why Of Allah announce unto them A
9: 34 most grievous penalty-
9: 37 Verily the transposing (Of a prohibited month) Is an addition to
9: 37 Unbelief: The Unbelievers are led To wrong thereby : for they
9: 37 make It lawful one year And forbidden another year In order to
9: 37 adjust the number Of months forbidden by Allah And Make such
9: 37 forbidden ones Lawful. The evil of their course Seems pleasing to
9: 37 them But Allah guideth not Those who reject Faith
9: 37 SECTION 6.
9: 38 O ye who belive! What Is the matter with you Then, when ye are
9: 38 asked To go forth in the Cause of Allah Ye cling heavily to the
9: 38 earth? Do ye prefer the life Of this world to the Hereafter? But
9: 38 little is the comfort Of this life as compared With the Hereafter.
9: 42 If there had been Immediate gain (in sight), And the journey easy
9: 42 They would (all) without doubt Have followed thee, but The distance
9: 42 was long (And weighed) on them. They would indeed swear By Allah,
9: 42 "If we only could, We should certainly Have come out with you":
9: 42 They would destroy their own souls: For Allah doth know That they
9: 42 are certainly lying.
9: 42 SECTION 7.
9: 46 If they had intended To come out they would Certainly have made
9: 46 Some preparation therefor; But Allah was averse To their being
9: 46 sent forth; So He made them lag behind And they were told "Sit
9: 46 ye among those Who sit (inactive)."
9: 47 If they had come out With you they would not Have added to
9: 47 your (strength) But only (made for) disorder Hurryiug to and
9: 47 fro in your midst And sowing sedition among you, And there would
9: 47 have been Some among you Who whoud have listened to them: But
9: 47 Allah knoweth well Those who do wrong.
9: 57 If they could find A place to flee to Or caves or a place Of
9: 57 concealment they would Turn straightway thereto With and obstinate
9: 57 rush.
9: 58 And among them are men Who slander thee in the matter Of
9: 58 (the distribution of) the alms: If they are given part thereof,
9: 58 They are pleased but if not Behold ! they are indignant!
9: 63 Know they not that for those Who oppose Allah And His Apostle Is
9: 63 the Fire of Hell? - Wherein they shall dwell. That is the
9: 63 supreme disgrace.
9: 68 Allah hath promised the Hypocrites Men and women and the rejecters
9: 68 Of Faith the fire of Hell: There in shall they dwell: Sufficient
9: 68 is it for them: For them is the curse of Allah ; And an enduring
9: 68 punishment,-
9: 69 As in the case of those Before you :they were Mightier than
9: 69 you in power And more flourishing in wealth And children .
9: 69 They had Their enjoyment of their portion: And ye have of yours as
9: 69 did Those before you; and ye Indulge in idle talk As they did.
9: 69 They!- Their works are fruitless In this world and in the Hereafter
9: 69 And they will lose (All spiritual good).
9: 72 Allah hath promised to Believers, Men and women Gardens Under
9: 72 which rivers flow To dwell therein And beautiful mansions In
9: 72 Gardens of everlasting bliss. But the greatest bliss Is the Good
9: 72 Pleasure of Allah: That is the supreme felicilty.
9: 72 SECTION 10.
9: 74 They swear by Allah that they Said nothing (evil) but indeed
9: 74 They uttered blasphemy And they did it after accepting Islam; and
9: 74 they meditated 1331 A plot which they were unable To carry out:
9: 74 this revenge Of theirs was (their) only return For the bounty
9: 74 with which Allah and His Apostle hand enriched Them! If they
9: 74 repent It will be best for them ; But if they turn back
9: 74 (To their evil ways), Allah will punish them With a grievous
9: 74 penalty In this life and in the Hereafter: They shall have
9: 74 none on earth To protect or help them.
9: 77 So He hath put as a consequence Hypocrisy into their hearts
9: 77 (To last) till the day whereon They shall meet Him: because They
9: 77 broke their Covenant With Allah and because they lied
9: 77 (again and again).
9: 89 Allah hath prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow, To
9: 89 dwell therein : That is the supreme felicity.
9: 89 SECTION 12.
9: 90 And there were among The desert Arabs (also) Men who Made excuses
9: 90 And came to claim exemption; And those who were false To Allah
9: 90 and His Apostle (Merely) sat inactive. Soon will a grievous penalty
9: 90 Seize the Unbelievers Among them.
9: 91 There is no blame On those who are infirm Or ill or who find
9: 91 No resources to spend (On the Cause) if they Are sincere
9: 91 (in duty) to Allah And His Apostle: No ground (of complaint)
9: 91 Can there be against such As do right : and Allah Is Oft-Forgiving
9: 91 Most Merciful.
9: 92 Nor (is there blame) On those who came to thee To be provided with
9: 92 mounts And when thou saidst,"I can find no mounts For you,"
9: 92 they turned back Their eyes streaming with tears Of grief
9: 92 that they had No resources wherewith To provide the expenses.
9:100 The vanguard (of Islam)- The first of those who forsook (Their
9:100 homes ) and of those Who gave them aid, and (also) Those who follow
9:100 them In (all) good deeds,- Well-pleased is Allah with them, As
9:100 are they with Him: For them hath He prepared Gardensunder which
9:100 rivers flow, To dwell therein for ever: That is the supreme
9:100 Felicity.
9:102 Others (there are who) have Acknowledged their wrong-doings:
9:102 They have mixed an act That was good with another That was evil
9:102 Perhaps Allah Will turn unto them (in mercy): For Allah is Oft-
9:102 Forgiving; Most Merciful.
9:106 There are (yet) others, Held in suspense for the command Of Allah,
9:106 whether He will Punish them, or turn in mercy Ts them: and Allah
9:106 Is All-Knowing, Wise.
9:107 And there are those Who put up a mosque By way of mischief and
9:107 infidelity- To disunite the Believers- And in preparation for one
9:107 Who warred against Allah And His Apostle aforetime. They will
9:107 indeed swear That their intention is nothing But good; but Allah
9:107 doth declare That they are certainly liars.
9:108 Never stand thou forth therein. There is a mosque whose foundation
9:108 Was laid from the first day On piety; it is more worthy Of thy
9:108 standing forth (for prayer) Therein. In it are men who Love to be
9:108 purified; and Allah Loveth those who make themselves pure.
9:118 (He turned in mercy also) To the three who were left. Behind:
9:118 (they felt guilty) To such a degree that the earth Seemed constrai-
9:118 ned to them. For all its speciousness, And their (very) Souls
9:118 seemed Straitened to them,-And they perceived that There is no
9:118 fleeing from Allah And no refuge but to Himself, Then He turned to
9:118 them, That they might repent: For Allah is Oft-Returning, Most
9:118 Merciful.
9:118 SECTION 15.
9:124 Whenever there cometh down A sura, some of them say:"Which of you
9:124 has had His faith increased by it? "Yea, those who believe,-Their
9:124 faith is increased, And they do rejoice.
9:127 Whenever there cometh down A Sura, they look at each other,
9:127 (Saying), "Doth anyone see you?" Then they turn aside: Allah hath
9:127 turned their hearts (From the light); for they Are a people that
9:127 understand not.
9:129 But if they turn away Say: "Allah sufficeth me:There is no god
9:129 but He: On Him is my trust He the Lord of the Throne (Of Glory)
9:129 Supreme!"
10: 3 Verily your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens And the earth
10: 3 in six Days, And is firmly established On the Throne (of authority)
10: 3 Regulating and governing all things. No intercessor (can plead with
10: 3 him) Except after His leave (Hath been obtained). This Is Allah
10: 3 your Lord; Him therefore Serve ye : will ye not Celebrate His
10: 3 praises?
10: 10 (This will be) their cry therein:"Glory to Thee, O Allah! And
10: 10 "Peace" will be their greeting therein! And the close of their cry
10: 10 Will be:"Praise be to Allah, The Cherisher and Sustainer Of the
10: 10 Worlds!"
10: 10 SECTION 2.
10: 22 He it is Who enableth you To traverse through land And sea; so
10: 22 that ye even board Ships;-they sail with them With a favourable
10: 22 wind, And they rejoice thereat; Then comes a stormy wind And the
10: 22 waves come to them From all sides, and they think They are
10: 22 being overwhelmed: They cry unto Allah, sincerely Offering
10: 22 (their) duty unto Him,Saying, "If Thou dost deliver us From this,
10: 22 we shall truly Show our gratitude."
10: 24 The likeness of the life Of the Present is As the rain which We
10: 24 Send down from the skies: By its mingling arises The produce of
10: 24 the earth- Which provides food For men and animals: (It grows) :
10: 24 till the earth Is clad with its golden Ornaments and is decked out
10: 24 (In beauty): the people to whom It belongs think they have All
10: 24 powers of disposal over it: There reaches it Our command By night
10: 24 or by day, And we make it Like a harvest clean-mown As if it had
10: 24 not flourished Only the day before! Thus do We explain The Signs
10: 24 in detail For those who reflect.
10: 26 To those who do right Is a goodly (reward)_ Yea, more (than in
10: 26 measure) ! No darkness nor shame Shall cover their faces ! They are
10: 26 Companions of the Garden; They will abide therein (For aye)!
10: 27 But those who have earned Evil will have a reward Of like evil:
10: 27 (ignominy) Will cover their (faces): No defender will they have
10: 27 From (the wrath of) Allah: Their faces will be covered, As it
10: 27 were, with pieces From the depth of the darkness of Night: they
10: 27 are Companions Of the Fire : they will Abide therein (for aye)!
10: 30 There will every soul prove (The fruits of) the deeds It sent
10: 30 before: they will Be brought back to Allah Their rightful Lord,
10: 30 And their invented falsehoods Will leave them in the lurch.
10: 30 SECTION 4.
10: 35 Say: " Of your 'partners' Is there any that Can give any guidance
10: 35 Towards Truth?" Say : "It is Allah Who gives guidance Towards Truth
10: 35 Is then He Who gives guidance to Truth More worthy to be followed,
10: 35 Or he who finds no guidance (Himself) unless he is guided? What
10: 35 then is the matter With you? How judge ye?"
10: 37 This Qur-an is not such As can be produced By other than Allah :
10: 37 On the contrary it is A confirmation of (revelations) That went
10: 37 before it, And a fuller explanation Of the Book -wherein There is
10: 37 no doubt- From the Lord of the Worlds.
10: 39 Nay, they charge with falsehood That whose knowledge they Cannot
10: 39 compass, even before The elucidation thereof Hath reached them;
10: 39 thus Did those before them Make charges of falsehood: But see what
10: 39 was the end Of those who did wrong !
10: 40 Of them there are some Who believe therein, And some who do not :
10: 40 And thy Lord knoweth best Those who are out for mischief.
10: 40 SECTION 5.
10: 57 O mankind ! there hath come To you a direction from your Lord And a
10: 57 healing for the (diseases ) In your hearts,- and for those Who
10: 57 belive, a Guidance And a Mercy.
10: 59 Say: "See ye what things Allah hath sent down to you For
10: 59 sustenance? Yet ye Hold forbidden some things Thereof and
10: 59 (something) lawful." Say: "Hath Allah indeed Permitted you, or do
10: 59 ye invent (Things) to attribute to Allah ? "
10: 61 In whatever business thou Mayest be , and whatever portion Thou
10: 61 mayest be reciting From the Qur-an ,_and whatever Deed ye (mankind)
10: 61 may bedoing ,_We are Witnesses thereof When ye are deeply engossed
10: 61 Therein. Nor is hidden From thy Lord (so much as) The weight of an
10: 61 atom On the earth or in heaven. And not the least And not the
10: 61 greatest Of these things but are recorded In a clear Record.
10: 62 Behold !verily on the friends Of Allah there is no fear, Nor shall
10: 62 they grieve ;
10: 64 For them are Glad Tidings , In the life of the Present And in the
10: 64 Hereafter : No change can there be In the Words of Allah. This is
10: 64 indeed The superme Felicity .
10: 67 He it is that hath Made you the Night That ye may rest therein, And
10: 67 the Day to make Things visible ( to you ). Verily in this are
10: 67 Signs For those who listen (To His Message ).
10: 90 He took the Children Of Israel across the sea: Pharaoh and his
10: 90 hosts followed them In insolence and spite. At length, when
10: 90 overwhelmed With the flood, he said: "I believe that there is no
10: 90 god Except Him Whom the Children Of Israel believe in: I am of
10: 90 those who submit (To Allah in Islam)."
10: 98 Why was there not A single township (among those We warned) which
10: 98 believed,- So its Faith should have Profited it,- except the
10: 98 people Of Jonah? When they belived, We removed from them The
10: 98 Penalty of Ignominy In the life of the present, And permitted them
10: 98 to enjoy (Their life) for a while.
10:107 Allah do touch thee With hurt, there is none Can remove it but He:
10:107 If He do design some benefit For thee, there is none Can keep back
10:107 His favour: He causeth it to reach Whomsoever of His servants He
10:107 pleaseth. And He is The Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
11: 6 There is no moving creature On earth but it is sustenance Dependeth
11: 6 on Allah : He knoweth The time and place of its Definite abode and
11: 6 its Temporary deposit: All is in a clear Record.
11: 12 Perchance thou mayest (feel The inclination) to give up A part of
11: 12 what is revealed Unto thee, and thy heart Feeleth straitened
11: 12 lest they say, "Why is not a treasure sent down Unto him, or why
11: 12 does not An angel come down with him?" But thou art there only
11: 12 to warn! It is Allah that arrangeth All affairs!
11: 14 "If then they (your false gods) Answer not your (call), Know ye
11: 14 that this Revelation Is sent down (replete) with the knowledge
11: 14 Of Allah, and that there is No god but He! Will ye Even then
11: 14 submit (to Islam)?"
11: 15 Those who desire The life of the Present And its glitter, -to them
11: 15 We shall pay (the price Of) their deeds therein, -Without
11: 15 diminution.
11: 16 They are those for whom There is nothing in the Hereafter But the
11: 16 Fire: vain Are the designs they frame therein, And of no effect
11: 16 Are the deeds that they do!
11: 17 Can they be (like) those Who accept a Clear (Sign) From their
11: 17 Lord, and whom A witness from Himself Doth teach, as did the Book
11: 17 Of Moses before it,-a guide And a mercy? They believe Therein;
11: 17 but those of the Sects That reject it,-the Fire Will be their
11: 17 promised Meeting-place. Be not then In doubt thereon: for it is
11: 17 The Truth from thy Lord: yet many among men Do not believe?
11: 19 "Those who would hinder (men) From the path of Allah And would seek
11: 19 in it Something crooked: these were They who denied the Hereafter!
11: 22 Without a doubt, these Are the very ones who Will lose most in
11: 22 the Hereafter!
11: 23 But those who believe And work righteousness,And humble themselves
11: 23 Before their Lord,- They will be Companions Of the Garden,to dwell
11: 23 Therein for aye!
11: 40 At length, behold! There came our Command, And the fountains of
11: 40 the earth Gushed forth! We said: "Embark therein, of each kind Two
11: 40 male and female, And your family-except Those against whom the
11: 40 Word Has already gone forth- And the Believers. But only a few
11: 40 Believed with him.
11: 48 The word came: "O Noah ! Come down (from the Ark) With Peace from
11: 48 Us, And Blessings on thee And on some of the Peoples (Who will
11: 48 spring) from those With thee: but (there will be Other) People to
11: 48 whom We Shall grant their pleasures (For a time), but in the end
11: 48 Will a grievous Penalty Reach them from Us,"
11: 56 "I put my trust in Allah, My Lord and your Lord! There is not a
11: 56 moving Creature, but He hath Grasp of its forelock. Verily, it
11: 56 is my Lord That is on a straight path.
11: 61 To the Thamud People (We sent) Salih, one Of their own brethren.
11: 61 He said:"O my People Worship Allah: ye have No other god but Him.
11: 61 It is He Who hath produced you From the earth and settled you
11: 61 Therein:then ask forgiveness Of Him, and turn to Him (In repentance
11: 61 for my Lord In (always) near, ready To answer."
11: 65 But they did hamstring her. So he said: "Enjoy yourselves In your
11: 65 homes for three days: (Then will be your ruin): There is a promise
11: 65 Not to be belied!"
11: 68 As if they had never Dwelt and flourished there. Ah! Behold! For
11: 68 the Thamud Rejected their Lord and Cherisher! Ah! Behold! Removed
11: 68 (From sight) were the Thamud!
11: 68 SECTION 7.
11: 69 There came Our Messengers To Abraham with glad tidings. They said,
11: 69 "Peace! "He answered, "Peace!" and hastened To entertain them
11: 69 With a roasted calf.
11: 71 And his wife was standing (There), and she laughed: But We gave
11: 71 her Glad tidings of Isaac, And after him of Jacob.
11: 72 She said: "Alas for me! Shall I bear a child, Seeing I am an old
11: 72 woman, And my husband here Is an old man? That would indeed Be a
11: 72 wonderful thing!"
11: 76 O Abraham! Seek not this. The decree of thy Lord Hath gone forth:
11: 76 for them There cometh a Penalty That cannot be turned back!
11: 78 And his people came Rushing towards him, And they had been long
11: 78 In the habit of practising Abominations. He said: "O my people!
11: 78 Here are My daughters: they are purer For you (if ye marry)!
11: 78 Now fear Allah, and cover me not With shame about my guests! Is
11: 78 there not among you A single right-minded man?"
11: 95 As if they had never Dwelt and flourished there! Ah! Behold! How
11: 95 the Madyan Were removed (from sight) As were removed the Thamud!
11: 95 SECTION 9.
11:101 It was not We that wronged then They wronged their own souls: The
11:101 deities, other than Allah, Whom they invoked, profited them No whit
11:101 when there issued The decree of thy Lord: Nor did they add aught
11:101 (To their lot) but perdition!
11:103 In that is a Sign For those who fear The Penalty of the Hereafter:
11:103 That is a Day for which mankind Will be gathered together: That
11:103 will be a Day Of Testimony.
11:105 The day it arrives, No soul shall speak Except His leave: Of those
11:105 (gathered) some Will be wretched and some Will be blessed.
11:106 Those who are wretched Shall be in the Fire: There will be for
11:106 them Therein (nothing but) the heaving Of sighs and sobs:
11:107 They will dwell therein For all the time that The heavens and the
11:107 earth Endure, except as thy lord Willeth: for thy Lord Is the
11:107 (sure) Accomplisher Of what He planneth.
11:108 And those who are blessed Shall be in the Garden: They will dwell
11:108 therein For all the time that The heavens and the earth Endure,
11:108 except as thy Lord Willeth: a gift without break.
11:110 We certainly gave the Book To Moses, but differences Arose
11:110 therein: had it not been That a word had gone forth Before from
11:110 thy Lord, the matter Would have been decided Between them: but
11:110 they Are in suspicious doubt Concerning it.
11:112 Therefore stand firm (in the straight Path) as thou art commanded,
11:112 Thou and those who with thee Turn (unto Allah); and transgress not
11:112 (From the Path): for He seeth Well all that ye do.
11:116 Why were there not, Among the generations before you, Persons
11:116 possessed of balanced Good sense, prohibiting (men) From mischief
11:116 in the earth- Except a few among them Whom We saved (from harm)?
11:116 But the wrong doers pursued The enjoyment of the good things Of
11:116 life which were given them, And persisted in sin.
11:120 All that We relate to thee Of the stories of the apostles,-With
11:120 it We make firm Thy heart: in them there cometh To thee the
11:120 Truth, as well as An exhortation and a message Of remembrance to
11:120 those who believe.
12: 9 "Slay ye Joseph or cast him out To some (unknown) land, That so
12: 9 the favour Of your father may be Given to you alone: (There will
12: 9 be time enough ) For you to be righteous after that!"-
12: 19 Then there came a caravan Of travellers: they sent Their water-
12: 19 carrier (for water), And he let down his bucket (Into the well)...
12: 19 He said:"Ah there! Good news ! Here is a (fine ) young man! "So
12: 19 they concealed him As a treasure! But Allah Knoweth well all that
12: 19 they do!
12: 32 She said:"There before you Is the man about whom Ye did blame me!
12: 32 I did seek to seduce him from His (true) self but he did Firmly
12: 32 save himself guiltless!... And now, if he doth not My bidding,
12: 32 he shall certainly Be cast into prison , And (what is more )
12: 32 Be in the company of the vilest!"
12: 36 How with him there came Into the prison two young men. Said one
12: 36 of them: I see Myself (in a dream) Pressing wine."Said the other:
12: 36 "I see myself (in a dream) Carrying bread on my head, And birds
12: 36 are eating thereof." Tell us" (they said) "the truth And meaning
12: 36 thereof : for we See thou art one That doth good (to all)."
12: 37 He said:"Before any food Comes (in due course) To feed either of
12: 37 you, I will surely reveal To you the truth And meaning of this Ere
12: 37 it come to pass: That is part of the (Duty) Which my Lord hath
12: 37 taught me. I have (I assure you) Abandoned the ways Of a people
12: 37 that believe not In Allah and that (even) Deny the Hereafter.
12: 41 "O my two companions Of the prison! As to one Of you, he will
12: 41 pour out The wine for his lord to drink: As for the other, he
12: 41 will Hang from kthe cross, and the birds Will eat from off his
12: 41 head. (So ) hath been decreed That matter whereof Ye twain
12: 41 do enquire..."
12: 43 The king (of Egypt) said:"I do see (in a Vision ) Seven fat kine,
12: 43 whom seven Lean ones devour,- and seven Green ears of corn, and
12: 43 seven (others) Withered. O Ye chiefs! Expound to me my vision
12: 43 If it be that ye can Interpret visions."
12: 45 But the man who had been Released, one of the two (Who had been in
12: 45 prison) And who now bethought him After (so long) a space of time,
12: 45 Said:"I will tell you The truth of its interpretation: Send ye
12: 45 me (therefor)."
12: 46 "O Joseph!" (he said), "O man of truth !Expound To us (the dream)
12: 46 Of seven fat kine Whom seven lean ones Devour, and of seven Green
12: 46 ears of corn And (seven ) others withered: That I may return To
12: 46 the people, and that They may understand."
12: 54 So the king said:"Bring him unto me ;I will take him specially To
12: 54 serve about my own person." Therefore when he had spoken To
12: 54 Him, he said:"Be assured this day, Thou art, before our own
12: 54 Presence, With tank firmly established And fidelity fully proved!
12: 56 Thus did We give Established power to Joseph In the land, to take
12: 56 possession Therein as when, or where He pleased. We bestow Of Our
12: 56 mercy on whom We please, and We suffer not To be lost, the
12: 56 reward Of those who do good.
12: 57 But verily the reward Of the Hereater Is the best, for those Who be
12: 57 believe, amd are constant In righteousness.
12: 57 Section 8.
12: 77 They said:"If he steals, There was a brother of his Who did steal
12: 77 before (him)." But these things did Joseph Keep locked in his
12: 77 heart, Revealing not the secrets to them. He (simply) said (to
12: 77 himself):"Ye are the worse situated; And Allah knoweth best The
12: 77 truth of what ye assert!"
12: 80 Now when they saw No hope of his (yielding), They held a
12: 80 conference in private. The leader among them said: "Know ye not
12: 80 that your father Did take an oath from you In Allah's name, and
12: 80 how, Before this, ye did fail In your duty with Joseph? Therefore
12: 80 will I not leave This land until my father Permits me, or Allah
12: 80 Commands me; and He Is the best to command.
12: 82 "'Ask at the town where We have been and the caravan In which
12: 82 we returned, And (you will find )we are Indeed telling the truth.'
12: 93 "Go with this my shirt, And cast it over the face Of my father:
12: 93 he will Come to see (clearly). Then come ye (here) to me together
12: 93 With all your family." SECTION 11.
12:100 And he raised his parents High on the throne (of dignity),
12:100 And they fell down in prostration (All) before him. He said
12:100 "O my father! this is The fulfilment of my vision Of old! Allah
12:100 hath made it Come true! He was indeed Good to me when He Took me
12:100 out of prison And brought you (all here) Out of the desert, (Even)
12:100 after Satan had sown Enmity between me and my brothers. Verily
12:100 my Lord understandeth Best the mysteries of all That He planneth
12:100 to do: For verily He is full Of knowledge and wisdom.
12:101 "O my lord! Thou hast Indeed bestowed on me Some power, and taught
12:101 me Something of the interpretation Of dreams and events,-O Thou
12:101 Creator of the heavens And the earth! Thou art My Protector in
12:101 this world And in the Hereafter, Take Thou my soul (at death) As
12:101 one submitting to Thy Will (As a Muslim), and unite me With the
12:101 righteous."
12:101 SECTION 12.
12:109 Nor did We send before thee (As apostles) any but men Whom We
12:109 did inspire, (Men) living in human habitations. Do they not travel
12:109 Through the earth, and see What was the end Of those before them?
12:109 But the home of the Hereafter Is best, for those who do right.
12:109 Will ye not then understand?
12:110 (Respite will be granted) Until, when the apostles Give up hope
12:110 (of their people ) And (come to) think that they Were treated as
12:110 liars, There reaches them our help. And thosewhom We will are deliv
12:110 ered into safety. But never will be warded off Our punishment
12:110 from those Who are in sin.
12:111 There is, in their stories, Instruction for men endued With
12:111 understanding. It is not A tale invented, but a confirmation
12:111 Of what went before it,-1797 A detailed exposition Of all things,
12:111 and a Guide And a Mercy to any such As believe.
13: 3 And it is He Who spread out The earth, and set there on Mountains
13: 3 standing firm, And (flowing) rivers:and fruit Of every kind
13: 3 He made In pairs, two and two: He draweth the Night as a veil
13: 3 O'er the Day. Behold, verily In these things there are Signs For
13: 3 those who consider!
13: 4 And in the earth are tracts (Diverse though) neighbouring,And
13: 4 gardens of vines And fields sown with corn, And palm trees-growing
13: 4 Out of single roots or other wise: Watered with the same water,
13: 4 Yet some of them We make More excellent than others to eat.
13: 4 Behold, verily in these things There are Signs for those Who
13: 4 understand!
13: 5 If thou dost marvel (At their want of faith), Strange is their
13: 5 saying:"When we are (actually) dust, Shall we Indeed then be In a
13: 5 creation renewed?'They are Those who deny their Lord! They Are
13: 5 those round whose necks Will be yokes (of servitude): They will
13: 5 be Companions Of the Fire, who dwell therein (For aye)!
13: 11 for each (such person)There are (angels)in succession, Before and
13: 11 behind him: They guard him by command Of Allah. Verily never Will
13: 11 Allah change the condition Of a people until they Change it them
13: 11 selves (With their own souls). But when (once) Allah willeth A
13: 11 people's punishment, There can be no Turning it back, nor Will
13: 11 they find, besides Him, Any to protect.
13: 13 Nay thunder repeateth His praises, And so do tht angels, with
13: 13 awe He flingeth the loud-voiced Thunder-bolts, and there with He
13: 13 striketh whomsoever He will, Yet these (are the men) Who (dare to)
13: 13 dispute About Allah, withthe strength Of His power (supreme)!
13: 15 Whatever beings there are In the heavens and the earth Do prostrate
13: 15 themselves to Allah (Acknowledging subjection),-with good -will
13: 15 Or in spite of themselves: So do their shadows In the mornings and
13: 15 evenings.
13: 17 He sends down water From the skies, and the channels Flow,
13: 17 each according to its measure: But the torrent bears away The
13: 17 foam that mounts up To the surface.Even so,From that(ore) which
13: 17 they heat In the fire, to make ornaments Or utensils there with.
13: 17 There is a scum likewise. Thus doth Allah (by parables) Show forth
13: 17 Truth and Vanity:For the scum disappears Likeforth cast out;
13: 17 While that which is for the food Of mankind remains On the earth.
13: 17 Thus doth Allah Set forth parables.
13: 22 Those who patiently persevere, Seeking the countenance of their
13: 22 Lord; Establish regular prayers; spend Out of (the gifts) We have
13: 22 bestowed For their sustenance, secretly And openly; and turn off
13: 22 Evil With good: for such there is The final attainment Of the
13: 22 Eternal) Home;-
13: 23 Gardens of perpetual bliss: They shall enter there, As well as
13: 23 the righteous Among their fathers, their spouses, And their
13: 23 offspring: And Angels shall enter unto them From every gate
13: 23 (with the salutation):
13: 25 But those who break The Covenant of Allah, after Having plighted
13: 25 their word there to And cut asunder those things Which Allah has
13: 25 Commanded To be joined, and work mischief In the land;- on them
13: 25 Is the curse; for them Is the terrible Home!
13: 26 Allah doth enlarge, or grant By (strict) measure the Sustenance
13: 26 (Which He giveth) to whomso He pleaseth, (The worldly) rejoice
13: 26 In the life of this world: But the life of this world Is but
13: 26 little comfort In the Hereafter.
13: 26 SECTION 4.
13: 30 Thus have We sent thee Amongst a People before whom (Long since)
13: 30 have (other) Peoples (Gone and) passed away; In order that thou
13: 30 mightest Rehearse unto them what We Senddownun to thee by
13: 30 inspiration; Yet do they reject(Him), The Most Gracious! Say:'
13: 30 He is my Lord! There is no god but He ! On Him is my trust, And
13: 30 to Him do I turn!"
13: 31 If there were a Qur-an With which mountains were moved, Or the
13: 31 earth were cloven asunder, Or the dead were made to speak,
13: 31 (This would be the one!). But , truly, the Command is With Allah
13: 31 in all things! Do not the Believers know, That, had Allah (so)
13: 31 willed, He could have guided All mankind (to the Right)? But the
13: 31 Unbelievers,-never Will disaster cease to seize Them for their
13: 31 (ill) deeds, Or to settle close to their homes, Until the promise
13: 31 of Allah Come to pass, for verily , Allah will not fail In
13: 31 His promise.
13: 31 SECTION 5.
13: 33 Is then He Who standeth Over every soul (and knoweth) All that it
13: 33 doth, (Like any others)? And yet They ascrine Parthers to Allah.
13: 33 Say:" But name them! Is it that ye will Infrom Him of something
13: 33 He knoweth not on earth, Or is it (just ) a show Of words?"
13: 33 Nay! to those Who believe not their pretence Seems pleasing, but
13: 33 they are Kept back (thereby ) from the Path:And those whom Allah
13: 33 leaves To stray, no one can guide.
13: 34 For them klis a Penalty In the life of this world, But harder,
13: 34 truly, is the Penalty Of the Hereafter: and defender Have they
13: 34 none against Allah.
13: 35 The parable of the Garden Which the righteous are promised!-
13: 35 Beneath it flow rivers: Perpetual is the enjoyment there of And
13: 35 the shade therein: Such is the End of the Righteous; and the End
13: 35 Of Unbelievers is the Fire.
13: 36 Those to whom We have Given the Book rejoice At what hath been
13: 36 revealed Unto thee: but there are Among the clans those who
13: 36 reject A part there of. Say:" I am commanded to worship Allah, and
13: 36 not to join partners With Him. Unto Him Do I call, and Unto Him
13: 36 is my return."
13: 41 See they not that We Gradually reduce the land (In their control)
13: 41 from its Outlying borders (Where) Allah Commands, there is none
13: 41 To put back His command : And He is Swift In calling to account.
14: 3 Those who love the life Of this world more than The Here after,
14: 3 who hinder (men) From the Path of Allah And seek there in
14: 3 something crooked They are astray By a long distance.
14: 5 We sent Moses with Our Signs(And the command). "Bring out Thy
14: 5 people from the depths Of darkness in to light, And teach them to
14: 5 remenber The Days of Allah. "Verly In this there are Signs For such
14: 5 as are firmly patient And constant,- grateful and appreciative.
14: 6 Remember!Moses said To his people:'Call to mind The favour of Allah
14: 6 to you When He delivered you From the People of Pharaoh: They
14: 6 set you hard task And punishments, slaughtered Your sons, and
14: 6 let your women-folk Live: therein was A tremendous trial from
14: 6 your Lord."
14: 6 SECTION 2.
14: 10 Their apostles said:"Is there A doubt about Allah, The creator
14: 10 of the heavens And the earth? It is He Who invites you, in order
14: 10 That He may forgive you Your sins and give you Respite for a
14: 10 term appointed!"They said:"Ah! ye are No more than human, Like
14: 10 ourselves! Ye wish To turn us away from The (gods) our fathers
14: 10 Used to worship: then Bring us some clear authority."
14: 15 But they sought vietory and decision (There and then) and
14: 15 frustration Was the lot of every Powerful obstinate transgressor.
14: 21 They will all be marshalled Before Allah together: then Will
14: 21 the weak say to those Who were arrogant,"For us We but followed
14: 21 you; can ye Then avail us at all Against the Wrath of Allah?
14: 21 They will reply,'If we Had received the guidance Of Allah, we
14: 21 should have Given it to you: to us It makes no difference
14: 21 (now ) Whether we rage or bear (These torments) with patience:
14: 21 For ourselves there is no way Of escape."
14: 21 SECTION 4.
14: 22 And Satan will say When the matter is decided:"It was Allah Who
14: 22 gave you A Promise of Truth :I too Promised, but failed In my prom
14: 22 ise to you. I had no authority over you Except to call you, but
14: 22 ye Listened to me: then Reproach not me but reproach Your own
14: 22 souls. I cannot listen To cries, nor can ye Listen to your mine.
14: 22 I reject Your former act in associating Me with Allah. For
14: 22 wrong-doers there must be A grievous Penalty."
14: 23 But those who believe And work righteousness Will be admitted
14: 23 To Gardens Beneath which rivers flow,-To dwell there in for aye
14: 23 With the leave of their Lord:Their greeting there in Will be:"
14: 23 Peace!"
14: 27 Allah will establish in strength Those who believe, with the
14: 27 Word That stands firm in this world Andin the Here after:but
14: 27 Allah Will leave, to stray, those Who do wrong: Allah doeth What
14: 27 He willeth.
14: 27 SECTION 5.
14: 29 Into Hell! they will burn There in an evil place To stay in!
14: 31 Speak to My servants Who have believed, That they may establish
14: 31 Regular prayers, and spend (In charity ) out of the Sustenance
14: 31 We have given them Secretly and openly before The coming of a Day
14: 31 In which there will be Neither mutual bargaining Nor befriending.
14: 32 It is Allah who hath created The heavens and the earth And sendeth
14: 32 down rain From the skies, and with it Bringeth out fruits where
14: 32 with To feed you; it is He Who hath made the shipssubject To you,
14: 32 that they may sail Through the sea by His Command; And the rivers
14: 32 (also)Hath He made subject to you.
14: 52 Here is a Message for mankind: Let them take warning there from,
14: 52 And let them know that He Is (no other than) One Allah, Let men
14: 52 of understanding Take heed.
15: 14 Even if We opened out to them A gate from heaven, And they were
15: 14 to continue (All day) ascending there in,
15: 19 And the earth We have spread out (Like a carpet); set there on
15: 19 Mountains firm and immovable; And produced there in all kinds Of
15: 19 things in due balance.
15: 20 And We have provided there in Means of subsistence,-for you And
15: 20 for those for whose sustenance Ye are not responsible.
15: 21 And there is not a thing But its (sources and) treasures
15: 21 (Inexhaustible) are with Us; But We only send down There of
15: 21 in due and ascertainable measures.
15: 22 And We send the fecundating winds, Then cause the rain to
15: 22 descend From the sky, there with providing You with water
15: 22 (in abundance), Thoughye are not the guardians Of its stores.
15: 34 (Allah) said:"Then get thee out From here; for thou art Rejected,
15: 34 accused.
15: 46 (Their greeting will be): "Enter ye here In Peace and Security."
15: 48 There no sense of fatigue Shall touch them Nor shall they (ever)
15: 48 Be asked to leave.
15: 59 "Excepting the adherents Of Lut: them we are certainly (Charged)
15: 59 to save (from harm) All-
15: 61 At length when the messengers Arrived among the adherents of
15: 61 Lut,
15: 71 He said:"There are My daughters (to marry), If ye must act (so)."
15: 92 Therefore ,by thy Lord, We will of a surety, Call them to account,
15: 94 Therefore expound openly What thou are commanded, And trun
15: 94 away from those Who join false gods with Allah.
15: 99 And serve thy Lord Until there come unto thee The Hour that is
15: 99 Certain.
16: 2 He doth send down His angels With inspiration of his Command,
16: 2 To such of His servants As He pleaseth (saying):"Warn (Man) that
16: 2 there is No god but I: so do Your duty unto Me."
16: 9 And unto Allah leads straight The Way but there are ways That
16: 9 turn aside: if Allah Had willed, He could have Guided all of you.
16: 9 SECTION 2.
16: 14 It is He Who has made The sea subject, that ye May eat there of
16: 14 flesh That is fresh and tender, And that ye may extract There
16: 14 from ornamsents to wear; And thou seest the ships There in that
16: 14 plough the waves, That ye may seek (thus ) Of the bounty of
16: 14 Allah And that ye may be grateful.
16: 22 Your god is One God: As to those who believe not In the Here
16: 22 after their hearts Refuse to know and they Are arrogant.
16: 27 Then on the Day of Judgment He will cover them With shame, and
16: 27 say:"Where are My partners' Concerning whom ye used To dispute
16: 27 (with the godly)? Those endued with knowledge Will say:"This Day,
16: 27 indeed, Are the Unbelievers Covered With Shame and Misery,-
16: 29 "So enter the gates of Hell, To dwell there in : Thus evil
16: 29 indeed Is the abode of the arrogant."
16: 30 To the righteous (When) it is said,"What Is it that your Lord2053
16: 30 Has revealed?" they say, "All that is good. "To those Who do good,
16: 30 there is good In this world and the Home Of the Here after is
16: 30 even better. And excellent indeed is the Home Of the righteous,-
16: 31 Gardens of Eternity which they Will enter: beneath them Flow
16: 31 (pleasant) rivers: they Will have there in all That they wish :
16: 31 thus doth Allah reward the righteous,-
16: 33 Do the (ungodly) wait until The angels come to them, Or there
16: 33 comes the Command Of thy Lord (for their doom)? So did those
16: 33 who went Before them. But Allah Wronged them not: nay, They
16: 33 wronged their own souls.
16: 37 If thou art anxious For their guidance, yet Allah guideth not such
16: 37 As He leaves to stray, And there is none To help them
16: 39 (They must be raised up), In order that He may manifest To them
16: 39 the truth of that Wherein they differ, and that The rejecters of
16: 39 Truth May realise that they had Indeed (surrendered to)Falsehood.
16: 41 To those who leave Their homes in the cause Of Allah, after
16: 41 suffering oppression,- We will assuredly give A goodly home in
16: 41 this world; But truly the reward Of the Hereafter will be greater,
16: 41 If they only realised (this)!
16: 60 To those who believe not In the Here after applies The similitude
16: 60 of evil: To Allah applies the highest Similitude: for He is the
16: 60 Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom.
16: 60 SECTION 8.
16: 65 And Allah sends down rain From the skies, and gives there with Life
16: 65 to the earth after its death: Verily in this is a Sign For those
16: 65 who listen.
16: 65 SECTION 9.
16: 69 Then to eat of all The produce (of the earth ),And find with skill
16: 69 the spacious Paths of its Lord: there issues From within their
16: 69 bodies A drink of varying colours, wherein is healing for men:
16: 69 Verily in this is a Sign For those who give thought.
16: 70 It is Allah Who creates you And takes your souls at death; And of
16: 70 you there are Some who are sent back To a feeble age, so that
16: 70 They know nothing after Having known (much): For Allah is All-
16: 70 Knowing, All-Powerful.
16: 70 SECTION 10.
16: 75 Allah sets forth the Parable (Of two men: one) a slave Under the
16: 75 dominion of another; He has no power of any sort; And (the other)
16: 75 a man On whom We have bestowed Goodly favours from Ourselves,
16: 75 And he spends there of (freely), Privately and publicly: Are the
16: 75 two equal? (By no means): Praise be to Allah. But Most of them
16: 75 understand not.
16: 92 And be not like a woman Who breaks into untwisted strands The yarn
16: 92 which she has spun, After it has become strong. Nor take your oaths
16: 92 to practise Deception between yourselves, Lest one party should
16: 92 be More numerous than another: For Allah will test you by this;;
16: 92 And on the Day of Judgment He will certainly make clear To you
16: 92 (the truth of ) that Wherein ye disagree .
16:107 This because they love The life of this world Better than the
16:107 Hereafter: And Allah will not guide Those who reject Faith.
16:109 Without doubt, in the Hereafter They will perish.
16:110 But verily thy Lord,-To those who leave their homes After trials
16:110 and persecutions,-And who thereafter strive And fight for the
16:110 Faith and patiently persevere,- Thy Lord, after all this Is
16:110 Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
16:110 SECTION 15.
16:113 And there came to them An Apostle from among themsevles, But they
16:113 falsely rejected him: So the Wrath seized them Even in the midst
16:113 Of their iniquities.
16:119 But verily thy Lord,-To those who do wrong In ignorance, but
16:119 who Thereafter repent and make amends,-Thy Lord, after all this
16:119 Is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
16:119 SECTION 16.
16:122 And We gave him Good In this world and he will be In the Hereafter,
16:122 in the ranks of the Righteous.
17: 10 And to those who believe not In the Hereafter, (it announceth)
17: 10 That We have prepared For them a Penalty Grievous (indeed).
17: 10 SECTION 2.
17: 18 I any do wish For the transitory things (Of this life), We readily
17: 18 readily Grant them- such things As We will, to such persons As
17: 18 We will : in the end Have We provided Hell For them : they will
17: 18 burn There in, disgraced and rejected.
17: 19 Those who do wish For the (things of) the Here after, And
17: 19 strive therefor With all due striving, And have Faith,- They are
17: 19 the ones Whose striving is acceptable (To Allah).
17: 21 See how We have bestowed More on some than on others; But verily
17: 21 the Hereafter Is more in rank and gradation And more in
17: 21 excellence.
17: 42 Say: If there had been (Other) gods with Him,-As they say,-behold
17: 42 They would certainly have Sought out a way To the Lord of the
17: 42 Throne!
17: 44 The seven heavens and the earth, And all beings therein, Declare
17: 44 His glory There is not a thing But celebrates His praise ; And
17: 44 yet ye understand not How they declare His glory! Verily He
17: 44 is Oft-Forbearing, Most Forgiving!
17: 45 When thou dost recite The Qur-an, We put Between thee and those
17: 45 who Believe not in the hereafter, A veil invesible;
17: 58 There is not a population But We shall destroy it Before the Day
17: 58 of Judgment Or punish it with A dreadful Penalty: That is written
17: 58 In the (eternal) Record.
17: 69 Or do ye feel secure That He will not send you Back a second
17: 69 time To sea and send against you A heavy gale to drown you Because
17: 69 of your ingratitude; So that ye find no helper Therein against Us?
17: 72 But those who were blind In this world, will be Blind in the
17: 72 Hereafter, And most astray From the Path.
17: 76 Their purpose was to scare Thee off the land, In order to expel
17: 76 thee; But in that case they Would not have stayed (Therein)
17: 76 after thee, Except for a little while.
17: 88 Say:"If the whole Of mankind and Jinns Were to gather together To
17: 88 produce the like Of this Qur-an they Could not produce The
17: 88 like there of, even if They backed up each other With help and
17: 88 support."
17: 95 Say,"If there were settled, On earth, angels walking about In
17: 95 peace and quiet, We should Certainly have sent them Down from
17: 95 the heavens An angel for an apostle."
17: 99 See they not that Allah, Who created the heavens And the earth,
17: 99 has power To create the like of them (Anew)? Only He has Decreed a
17: 99 term appointed, Of which there is no doubt. But the unjust refuse
17: 99 (To receive it ) except With ingratitude.
17:104 And We said thereafter To the Children of Israel, "Dwell securely
17:104 in the land (Of promise)":but when The second of the warnings
17:104 came To pass, We gathered you Together in a mingled crowd.
18: 1 Praise be to Allah. Who hath sent to His Servant The Book, and
18: 1 hath allowed Therein no Crookedness:
18: 3 Wherein they shall Remain for ever:
18: 19 Such (being their state), We raised them up (from sleep),That
18: 19 they might question Each other. Said one of them, "How long
18: 19 have ye stayed (here)?" They said,"We have stayed (Perhaps) a
18: 19 day, or part Of a day." (At length) They (all) said,"Allah
18: 19 (alone) Knows best how long Ye have stayed here... Now send
18: 19 ye then one of you With this money of yours To the town: let
18: 19 him Find out which is the best Food (to be had ) and bring some
18: 19 To you, that (ye may) Satisfy hunger therewith: And let him
18: 19 behave With care and courtesy, And let him not inform Anyone
18: 19 about you.
18: 21 Thus did We make Their case known to the people, That they might
18: 21 know That the promise of Allah Is true and that there can Be no
18: 21 doubt about the Hour Of Judgment. Behold They dispute among themsel
18: 21 ves As to their affair. (Some) said,"Construct a building over
18: 21 them": Their Lord knows best About them: those who prevailed
18: 21 Over their affair said, "Let us surely build a place Of worship
18: 21 over them."
18: 22 (Some) say they were three. The dog being the fourth Among them;
18: 22 (others) say They were five, the dog Being the sixth ,-doubtfully
18: 22 Guessing at the unknown; (Yet others) say they were Seven the dog
18: 22 being the eighth. Say thou:"My Lord Knoweth best their number; It
18: 22 is but few that know Their (real case)." Enter not , Therefore,
18: 22 into controversies Concerning them, except On a matter that
18: 22 is clear, Nor consult any of them About (the affair of)
18: 22 the Sleepers.
18: 22 SECTION 4.
18: 31 For them will be Gardens Of Eternity; beneath them Rivers will
18: 31 flow; they will Be adorned therein With bracelets of gold, And
18: 31 they will wear Green garments of fine silk And heavy brocade;
18: 31 They will recline therein On raised thrones How good the recompense
18: 31 How beautiful a couch To recline on!
18: 31 SECTION 5.
18: 33 Each of those gardens Brought forth its produce, And failed not
18: 33 in the least Therein: in the midst Of them We caused A river to
18: 33 flow.
18: 36 "Nor do I deem That the Hour (of Judgment) Will (ever) come: Even
18: 36 if I am brought back To my Lord I shall Surely find (there)
18: 36 Something better in exchange."
18: 39 "Why didst thou not, As thou wentest into Thy garden say:"Allah's
18: 39 Will (Be done)! There is no power But with Allah!"if thou Dost
18: 39 see me less than Thee in wealth and sons,
18: 44 There, the (only ) protection comes From Allah, the True One.
18: 44 He is the Best to reward , And the Best to give success.
18: 44 SECTION 6.
18: 49 And the Book (of Deeds) Will be placed (before you); And thou
18: 49 wilt see The sinful in great terror Because of what is (recorded)
18: 49 There in ; they will say, "Ah! woe to us! What a book is this!
18: 49 It leaves out nothing Small or great, but Takes account thereof!"
18: 49 They will find all that they Did, placed before them: And not one
18: 49 will thy Lord Treat with injustice.
18: 49 SECTION 7.
18: 53 And the Sinful shall see The Fire and apprehend That they have to
18: 53 fall Therein: no means will they Find to turn away therefrom
18: 53 SECTION 8.
18: 55 And what is there To keep back men From believing, now that
18: 55 Guidance has come to them, Nor from praying forgiveness From
18: 55 their Lord, but that (They ask that) the ways Of the ancients
18: 55 be repeated With them, or the Wrath Be brought to them Face to
18: 55 face?
18: 56 We only send the apostles To give glad tidings And To give
18: 56 warnings: But the Unbelievers dispute With vain argument, in order
18: 56 Therewith to weaken the truth, And they treat My Signs As a jest,
18: 56 as also the fact That they are warned!
18: 77 Then they proceeded: Until, when they came To the inhabitants
18: 77 of a town They asked them for food, But they refused them
18: 77 Hospitality. They found there A wall on the point of Falling down,
18: 77 but he Set it up straight. (Moses) said:"If thou Hadst wished,
18: 77 surely thou Couldst have exacted some Recompense for it!"
18: 79 As for the boat , It belonged to certain Men in dire want: They
18: 79 plied on the water: I but wished to render it Unserviceable,
18: 79 for there was After them a certain king Who seized on every boat
18: 79 By force.
18: 82 "As for the wall, It belonged to two youths Orphans in the Town;
18: 82 There was beneath it, A buried treasure, to which They were
18: 82 entitled; their father Had been a righteous man: So thy Lord
18: 82 desired that They should attain their age Of full strength and
18: 82 get out Their treasure a mercy (And favour) from thy Lord. I did
18: 82 it not of my own Accord. Such is the interpretation Of (those
18: 82 things) over which Thou wast unable To hold patience."
18: 82 SECTION 11.
18: 95 He said:'(The power) in which My Lord has established me Is better
18: 95 (than tribute):Help me therefore with strength (And labour): I
18: 95 will Erect a strong barrier Between you and them:
18:105 They are those who deny The Signs of their Lord And the fact of
18:105 their Having to meet Him (In the Hereafter): vain Will be their
18:105 works, Nor shall We, on the Day Of Judgment, give them Any weight.
18:108 Wherein they shall dwell (For aye): on change Will they wish for
18:108 from them.
18:109 Say:"If the ocean were Ink (wherewith to write out) The words
18:109 of my Lord, Sooner would the ocean be Exhausted than would
18:109 the words of my Lord, even if we Added another ocean Like it ,
18:109 for its aid."
19: 31 "And He hath made me Blessed wheresoever I be And hath enjoyed
19: 31 on me Prayer and Charity as long As I live;
19: 36 Verily Allah is my Lord And your Lord: Him Therefore serve ye:
19: 36 this is A way that is straight .
19: 40 It is We Who will inherit The earth and all beings Thereon: to
19: 40 Us will they All be returned.
19: 59 But after them there followed A posterity who missed Prayers
19: 59 and followed after lusts: Soon, then will they Face Destruction,-
19: 62 They will not there hear Any vain discourse, but Only salutations
19: 62 of Peace: And they will have therein Their sustenance, morning
19: 62 And evening.
19: 70 And certainly We know best Those who are most worthy Of being
19: 70 burned therein.
19: 72 But We shall save those Who guarded against evil, And We shall
19: 72 leave The wrong-doers therein, (Humbled ) to their knees.
20: 8 Allah! there is no god But He! To Him belong The Most Beautiful
20: 8 Names.
20: 10 Behold, he saw a fire; So he said to his family, "Tarry ye; I
20: 10 perceive A fire; perhaps I can Bring you some burning brand
20: 10 There from or find some guidance At the fire."
20: 12 "Verily I am thy Lord ! Therefore (in My presence) Put off thy
20: 12 shoes: thou art In the sacred valley Tuwa.
20: 14 "Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I : So serve thou Me
20: 14 (only), And establish regular prayer For celebrating My praise.
20: 16 "Therefore let not such as Believe not therein But follow their
20: 16 own Lusts, divert thee therefrom, Lest thou perish!"...
20: 47 "So go ye both to him, And say, "Verily we are Apostles sent by
20: 47 thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children Of Israel with us,
20: 47 and Afflict them not: With a Sign, indeed, Have we come fron thy
20: 47 Lord! And Peace to all Who follow guidance!
20: 53 "He Who has made for you The earth like a carpet Spread out;
20: 53 has enabled you To go about therein by roads (And channels);
20: 53 and has sent Down water from the sky." With it have We produced
20: 53 Divers pairs of plants Each separate from the others.
20: 58 "But we can surely produce Magic to match thine! So make a tryst
20: 58 Between us and thee, Which we shall not fail To keep- neither
20: 58 we nor thou -In a place where both Shall have even chances."
20: 64 "Therefore concert your plan, And then assemble In (serried)
20: 64 ranks: He wins (all along) today Who gains the upper hand."
20: 69 "Throw that which is In thy right hand: Quickly will it swallow
20: 69 up That which they have faked. What they have faked Is but a
20: 69 magician's trick: And the magician thrives not, (No matter) where
20: 69 he goes."
20: 74 Verily he who comes To his Lord as a sinner (At Judgment); -
20: 74 for him Is Hell: therein shall he Neither die nor live.
20: 76 Gardens of Eternity, Beneath which flow rivers: They will dwell
20: 76 therein For aye: such is the reward Of those who purify Themselves
20: 76 (from evil)
20: 76 SECTION 4.
20: 81 (Saying):"Eat of the good Things We have provided For your
20: 81 sustenance, but Commit no excess therein, Lest My Wrath should
20: 81 justly Descend on you: and those On whom descends My Wrath Do
20: 81 perish indeed!
20: 98 But the God of you all Is the One Allah; there is No god but He;
20: 98 all things He comprehends in His knowledge.
20:100 If any do turn away Therefrom, verily they will Bear a burden On
20:100 the Day of Judgment;
20:113 Thus have We sent this Down-an Arabic Qur-an-And explained there
20:113 in detail Some of the warnings, In order that they may Fear
20:113 Allah, or that it may Cause their remembrance (of Him)
20:118 "There is therein (enough provision) For thee not to go hungry
20:118 Nor to go naked,
20:123 He said: "Get ye down, Both of you, -all together, From the Garden,
20:123 with enmity One to another; but if, As is sure, there comes to
20:123 you Guidance from Me, whosoever Follows My guidance, will not
20:123 Lose his way,nor fall Into misery.
20:127 And thus do We recompense Him who transgresses beyond bounds
20:127 And believes not in the Signs Of his Lord: and the Penalty Of
20:127 the Hereafter is far more Grievous and more enduring.
20:129 Had it not been For a Word that went forth Before from thy
20:129 Lord,2653 (Their punishment) must necessarily Have come; but
20:129 there is A term appointed (for respite).
20:130 Therefore be patient with what They say, and celebrate
20:130 (constantly) The praises of thy Lord, Before the rising of the
20:130 sun, And before its setting; Yea, celebrate them For part of the
20:130 hours Of the night, and at the sides Of the day: that thou
20:130 Mayest have (spiritual) joy.
20:135 "Say: Each one (of us) Is waiting: wait ye, therefore, And soon
20:135 shall ye know Who it is that is On the straight and even Way,
20:135 and who it is That has received guidance."
21: 22 If there were in the heavens And the earth, other gods Besides
21: 22 Allah, there would Have been confusion in both! But glory to Allah,
21: 22 The Lord of the Throne: (High is He) above What they attribute
21: 22 to Him!
21: 25 Not an apostle did We Send before thee without This inspiration
21: 25 sent by Us To him: that there is No god but I; therefore Worship
21: 25 and serve Me.
21: 31 And We have set on the earth Mountains standing firm, Lest it
21: 31 should shake with them And We have made therein Broad highways
21: 31 (between mountains) For them to pass through: That they may
21: 31 receive guidance.
21: 34 We granted not to any man Before thee permanent life (Here): if
21: 34 then thou shouldst die, Would they live permanently?
21: 47 We shall set up scales Of justice for the Day Of Judgment, so
21: 47 that Not a soul will be dealt with Unjustly in the least And if
21: 47 there be (No more than) the weight Of a mustard seed, We will
21: 47 bring it (to account): And enough are We To take account.
21: 87 And remember Zun-nun, When he departed in wrath: He imagined
21: 87 that We Had no power over him! But he cried through the depths
21: 87 Of darkness. "There is No god but Thou: Glory to Thee: I was
21: 87 Indeed wrong!"
21: 92 Verily, this Brotherhood Of yours is a single Brotherhood ,
21: 92 And I am your Lord And Cherisher: therefore Serve Me (and no
21: 92 other).
21: 95 But there is a ban On any population which We have destroyed:
21: 95 that they Shall not return,
21: 99 If these had been gods They would not have got there! But each
21: 99 one will abide Therein.
21:100 There, sobbing will be Their lot nor will they There hear
21:100 (aught else).
21:101 Those for whom The Good (record) from Us Has gone before will be
21:101 Removed far therefrom.
21:108 Say: 'What has come to me By inspiration is that Your God is One
21:108 Allah: Will ye therefore bow To His Will (in Islam)?"
22: 3 And yet among men There are such as dispute About God, without
22: 3 knowledge, And follow every evil one Obstinate in rebellion!
22: 7 And verily the Hour will come: There can be no doubt About
22: 7 it, or about (the fact) That Allah will raise up All who are in
22: 7 the graves.
22: 8 Yet there is among men Such a one as disputes About God, without
22: 8 knowledge, Without guidance, and without A Book of Enlightenment,-
22: 9 (Disdainfully) bending his side In order to (lead men) astray
22: 9 From the Path of Allah; For him there is disgrace In this life,
22: 9 and on the Day Of Judgment We shall Make him taste the Penalty
22: 9 Of burning (Fire).
22: 11 There are among men Some who serve Allah, As it were, on the verge:
22: 11 If good befalls them, they are, Therewith, well content;
22: 11 but If a trial comes to them, They turn on their faces; They lose
22: 11 both this world And the Hereafter: that Is loss for all to see!
22: 15 If any think that Allah Will not help him (His Apostle) in this
22: 15 world And the Hereafter let him Stretch out a rope To the ceiling
22: 15 and cut (himself) Off: then let him see Whether his plan
22: 15 will remove That which enrages(him)!
22: 21 In addition there will be Maces of iron (to punish) them.
22: 22 Every time they wish To get away therefrom, From anguish, they
22: 22 will be Forced back therein, and (It will be said), "Taste ye The
22: 22 Penalty of Burning!"
22: 22 SECTION 3.
22: 23 Allah will admit those Who believe and work righteous deeds,
22: 23 To Gardens beneath which Rivers flow :they shall be Adorned
22: 23 therein with bracelets Of gold and pearls; and Their garments
22: 23 there Will be of silk.
22: 25 As to those who have rejected (Allah) and would keep back (men
22: 25 From the Way of Allah, and From the Sacred Mosque, which We have
22: 25 made (open) to (all) men- Equal is the dweller there And the
22: 25 visitor from the country- And any whose purpose therein Is
22: 25 profanity or wrong-doing-Them will We cause to taste Of a most
22: 25 grievous Penalty.
22: 25 SECTION 4.
22: 26 Behold! We gave the site, To Abraham, of the (Sacred) House,
22: 26 (Saying): "Associate not anything (In worship) with Me; And
22: 26 sanctify My House For those who compassit round, Or stand up, Or
22: 26 bow, or prostrtate themselves (Therein in prayer).
22: 28 "That they may witness The benefits (provided) for them, And
22: 28 celebrate the name Of Allah, through the Days Appointed, over
22: 28 the cattle Which He has provided for them (For sacrifice):
22: 28 then eat ye Thereof and feed the distressed Ones in want.
22: 36 The sacrificial camels We have made for you As among the Symbols
22: 36 from Allah: in them is (much) Good for you: then pronounce The
22: 36 name of Allah over them As they line up (for sacrifice): When
22: 36 they are down On their sides (after slaughter), Eat ye thereof
22: 36 and feed Such as (beg not but) Live in contentment, And such as
22: 36 beg With due humility: thus have We made animals subject To you
22: 36 that ye May be grateful.
22: 40 (They are) those who have Been expelled from their homes In
22: 40 defiance of right,- (For no cause) except That they say," Our
22: 40 Lord Is Allah." Did not Allah Check one set of people By means of
22: 40 another, There would surely have been Pulled down monasteries,
22: 40 churches Synagogues, and mosques, in which The name of Allah is
22: 40 commemorated In abundant measure. Allah will Certainly aid those
22: 40 who Aid His (cause);- for verily Allah is full of Strength,
22: 40 Exalted in Might, (Able to enforce His Will).
22: 54 And that those on whom Knowledge has been bestowed may learn
22: 54 That the (Qur-an) is the Truth From thy Lord, and that they
22: 54 May believe there in, and their hearts May be made humbly
22: 54 (open) To it : for verily Allah is The Guide of those who
22: 54 believe, To the Straight Way.
22: 55 Those who reject Faith Will not cease to be In doubt concerning
22: 55 (Revelation) Until the Hour (of Judgment) Comes suddenly upon
22: 55 them, Or there comes to them The Penalty of a Day of Disaster.
22: 57 And for those who reject Faith And deny our Signs, There will be a
22: 57 humiliating Punishment.
22: 57 SECTION 8.
22: 71 Yet they worship, besides Allah Things for which no authority
22: 71 Has been sent down to them, And of which they have (Really)
22: 71 no knowledge : For those that do wrong There is no helper.
22: 73 O men! Here is A parable set forth! Listen to it ! Those On whom,
22: 73 besides Allah Ye call, cannot create (Even) a fly, if they all
22: 73 Met together for the purpose! And if the fly should snatch Away
22: 73 anything from them, They would have no power To realise it from
22: 73 the fly : Feeble are those who petition And those whom they
22: 73 petition!
23: 11 Who Will inherit Paradise: They will dwell therein (For ever).
23: 21 And in cattle (too) ye Have an instructive example: From within
23: 21 their bodies We produce (milk) for you To drink; there are, in
23: 21 them, (Besides), numerous (other) Benefits for you; And of their
23: 21 (meat) ye eat;
23: 30 Verily in this there are Signs (for men to understand); (Thus)
23: 30 do We try (men).
23: 30 SECTION 3.
23: 33 And the chiefs Of his people, who disbelieved And denied the
23: 33 Meeting In the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good
23: 33 things Of this life, said: "He is No more than a man Like
23: 33 yourselves; he eats Of that of which ye eat, And drinks
23: 33 of what ye drink.
23: 37 "There is nothing but Our life in this world! We shall die and we
23: 37 live! But we shall never Be raised up again!
23: 44 Then sent We our apostles In succession: every time There come
23: 44 to a people Their apostle , they accused him Of falsehood:
23: 44 so We made Them follow each other (In punishment): We made them As
23: 44 a tale (that is told): So away with a people That will not
23: 44 believe!
23: 52 And verily this Brotherhood Of yours is a single Brotherhood
23: 52 And I am your Lord And Cherisher: therefore Fear Me (and no other)
23: 63 But their hearts are In confused ignorance Of this ; and there
23: 63 are, Besides that, deeds of theirs, Which they will (continue)
23: 63 To do,-
23: 71 If the Truth had been In accord with their desires, Truly the
23: 71 heavens and the earth And all beings therein Would have been in
23: 71 confusion And corruption! Nay, We Have sent them their
23: 71 admonition. But they turn away From their admonition.
23: 74 And verily those who Believe not in the Hereafter Are deviating
23: 74 from that Way.
23: 77 Until We open on them A gate leading to A severe Punishment:
23: 77 then Lo! they will be plunged In despair therein!
23: 77 SECTION 5.
23: 79 And He has multiplied you Through the earth, and to Him Shall
23: 79 ye be gathered back.
23: 84 Say: "To whom belong The earth and all being therein ? (Say)
23: 84 if ye know!"
23: 91 No son did Allah beget, Nor is there any god Along with Him:
23: 91 (if there were Many gods), behold ,each god Would have taken
23: 91 away What he had created, And some would have Lorded it over
23: 91 others ! Glory to Allah! (He is free) From the (sort of) things
23: 91 They attribute to Him!
23:101 Then when the Trumpet Is blown, there will be No more relationships
23:101 Between them that day, Nor will one ask after another!
23:104 The Fire will burn their faces, And they will therein Grin,
23:104 with their lips displaced.
23:109 "A party of My servants There was, who used to pray, Our Lord!
23:109 we believe; Then do Thou forgive us, And have mercy upon us :
23:109 For Thou art the Best Of those who show mercy!
23:116 Therefore exalted be Allah, The King, the Reality; There is no
23:116 god but He, The Lord of the Throne Of Honour!
23:117 If anyone invokes , besides Allah, Any other god, he has No
23:117 authority therefor; And his reckoning will be Only with his
23:117 Lord ! And verily the Unbelievers Will fail to win through!
24: 5 Unless they repent thereafter And mend (their conduct): For Allah
24: 5 is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
24: 14 Were it not for the grace And mercy of Allah on you. In this
24: 14 world and the Hereafter, A grievous penalty would have Seized you
24: 14 in that ye rushed Glibly into this affair.
24: 19 Those who love (to see) Scandal published broadcast Among the
24: 19 Believers, will have A grievous Penalty in this life And in the
24: 19 Hereafter: Allah Knows, and ye know not.
24: 23 Those who slander chaste women Indiscreet but believing, Are
24: 23 cursed in this life And in the Hereafter: For them is a
24: 23 grievous penalty,-
24: 26 Women impure for men impure, And men impure for women impure
24: 26 And women of purity Are for men of purity, And men of purity Are
24: 26 for women of purity: Thses are not affected By what people say:
24: 26 For them there is forgiveness, And a provision honourable.
24: 26 SECTION 4.
24: 31 And say to the believing women That they should lower Their gaze
24: 31 and guard Their modesty; that they Should not display their Beauty
24: 31 and ornaments except What (must ordinarily) appear Thereof: that
24: 31 they should Draw their veils over Their bosoms and not display
24: 31 Their beauty except To Their husbands, their fathers, Their
24: 31 husbands' fathers, their sons, Their husbands' sons, Their brothers
24: 31 or their brothers' sons Or their sisters' sons, Or their women, or
24: 31 the slaves Whom their right hands Possess, or male servants Free of
24: 31 physical needs, Or small children who Have no sense of the shame Of
24: 31 sex; and that they Should not strike their feet In order to draw
24: 31 attention To their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! Turn
24: 31 ye all together Towards Allah, that ye May attain Bliss.
24: 33 Let those who find not The wherewithal for marriage Keep themselves
24: 33 chaste, until Allah gives them means Out of His grace. And if
24: 33 any of your slaves Ask for a deed in writing (To enable them to
24: 33 earn Their freedom for a certain sum) Give them such a deed If
24: 33 ye know any good In them; yea, give them Something yourselves Out
24: 33 of the means which Allah has given to you, But force not your
24: 33 maids To prostitution when they desire Chastity, in order that ye
24: 33 May make a gain In the goods of this life. But if anyone
24: 33 compels them, Yet, after such compulsion, Is Allah Oft-Forgiving,
24: 33 Most Merciful (to them).
24: 35 Allah is The Light Of the heavens and the earth. The parable of
24: 35 His Light Is as if there were a Niche And within it a Lamp:
24: 35 The Lamp enclosed in Glass: The glass as it were A brilliant
24: 35 star: Lit from a blessed Tree, An Olive, neither of the East Nor
24: 35 of the West Whose Oil is well -nigh Luminous, Though fire
24: 35 scarce touched it: Light upon Light ! Allah doth guide Whom He
24: 35 will To His Light : Allah doth set forth Parables For men:
24: 35 and Allah Doth know all things.
24: 37 By men whom neither Traffic nor merchandise Can divert from the
24: 37 Remembrance Of Allah, nor from regular Prayer Nor from the
24: 37 practice of regular Charity There (only) frar is For the
24: 37 Day when Hearts and eyes Will be transformed (In a world wholly-
24: 37 new),-
24: 40 Or (the Unbelievers state) Is like the depths of darkness In a vast
24: 40 deep ocean, Overwhelmed with billow Topped by billow, Topped
24: 40 by (dark) clouds: Depths of darkness, one Above another: if a
24: 40 man Stretches out his hand, He can hardly see it! For any to
24: 40 whom Allah Giveth not light, There is no light!
24: 40 SECTION 6.
24: 43 Seest thou not that Allah Makes the clouds move Gently, then
24: 43 joins them Together, then makes them Into a heap?- then wilt
24: 43 thou See rain issue forth From their midst. And He Sends down
24: 43 from the sky Mountain masses (of clouds) Wherein is hail: He
24: 43 strikes Therewith whom He pleases (And He turns it away From
24: 43 whom He pleases.) The vivid flash of His lightning Well-nigh
24: 43 blinds the sight.
24: 45 And Allah has created Every animal from water: Of them there are
24: 45 some That creep on their bellies; Some that walk on two
24: 45 legs; And some that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills
24: 45 For verily Allah has power Over all things.
24: 50 Is it that there is A disease in their hearts ? Or do they
24: 50 doubt, Or are they in fear, That Allah and His Apostle Will deal
24: 50 unjustly with them Nay, it is they themselves Who do wrong.
24: 50 SECTION 7.
24: 60 Such elderly women as are Past the prospect of marriage,- There
24: 60 is no blame on them If they lay aside Their (outer) garments,
24: 60 provided They make not a wanton display Of their beauty: but It is
24: 60 best for them To be modest: and Allah Is One Who sees and knows
24: 60 All things.
24: 61 It is no fault in the blind Nor in one born lame, nor In one
24: 61 afflicted with illness, Nor in yourselves, that ye Should eat in
24: 61 your own houses, Or those of your fathers, Or your mothers,
24: 61 Or your brothers Or your sisters, or your father's brothers, Or
24: 61 your father's sisters, Or your mothers brothers, Or your mother's
24: 61 sisters, Or in houses of which The keys are in your possession,
24: 61 Or in the house of a sincere Friend of yours: there is No blame
24: 61 on you , whether Ye eat in company or Separately. But if ye Enter
24: 61 houses, salute each other A greeting of blessing And purity
24: 61 as from Allah. Thus does Allah make clear The Signs to you: that ye
24: 61 May understand.
24: 61 SECTION 9.
25: 13 And when they are cast, Bound together, into a Constricted place
25: 13 therein they Will plead for destruction There and then!
25: 16 "For them there will be Therein all that they wish for : They will
25: 16 dwell (there) for aye: A promise to be prayed for From thy Lord."
25: 22 The Day they see the angels ,- No joy will there be To the
25: 22 sinners that Day: The (angels) will say: "There is a barrier
25: 22 Forbidden (to you) altogether!"
25: 32 Those who reject Faith Say: "Why is not the Qur-an Revealed to
25: 32 him all at once? Thus (is it revealed), that We May strengthen
25: 32 thy heart Thereby, and We have Rehearsed it to thee in slow, Well
25: 32 arranged stages, gradually:
25: 33 And no question do they Bring to thee but We Reveal to thee the
25: 33 truth And the best explanation (thereof ).
25: 34 Those who will be gathered To Hell (prone) on their faces,-They
25: 34 will be in an evil Plight, and as to Path, Most astray.
25: 34 SECTION 4.
25: 52 Therefore listen not To the Unbelievers, but strive Against
25: 52 them with the utmost Strenuousness, with the (Qur-an).
25: 61 Blessed is He Who made Constellations in the skies, And placed
25: 61 therein a Lamp And a Moon giving light;
25: 69 (But) the Penalty on the Day Of Judgment will be doubled To him,
25: 69 and he will dwell Therein in ignominy,-
25: 75 Those are the ones who Will be rewarded with The highest place
25: 75 in heaven, Because of their patient constancy; Therein shall
25: 75 they be met With salutations and peace,
25: 76 Dwelling therein ;- how beautiful An abode and place of rest!
26: 5 But there comes not To them a newly-revealed Message from (Allah)
26: 5 Most Gracious, But they turn away therefrom .
26: 7 Do they not look At the earth,- how many Noble things of all
26: 7 kinds We have produced therein?
26: 88 The Day whereon neither Wealth nor sons will avail,
26: 92 "And it shall be said To them: Where are The (gods) ye worshipped-
26: 96 "They will say there In their mutual bickerings:
26:120 Thereafter We drowned those Who remained behind.
26:129 "And do ye get for yourselves Fine buildings in the hope Of living
26:129 therein (for ever)?
26:146 "Will ye be left secure, In (the enjoyment of) all That ye
26:146 have here?-
26:155 He said: "Here is A she-camel: she has A right of watering,
26:155 And ye have a right Of watering, (severally) On a day appointed.
26:206 Yet there comes to them At length the (Punishment) Which they
26:206 were promised!
27: 3 Those who establish regular prayers And give in regular charity,
27: 3 And also have(full) assurance Of the Hereafter .
27: 4 As to those who belive not In the Hereafter, We have Made their
27: 4 deeds pleasing In their eyes; and so they Wander about in
27: 4 distraction.
27: 5 Such are they for whom A grievous Penalty is (waiting): And in
27: 5 the Hereafter theirs Will be the greatest loss.
27: 7 Behold! Moses said To his family:"I perceive A fire; soon will
27: 7 I bring you From there some information, Or I will bring you
27: 7 A burning brand to light Our fuel, that ye may Warm yourselves."
27: 11 "But if any have done wrong And have thereafter substituted
27: 11 Good to take the place of evil Truly I am Oft-Forgiving,
27: 11 Most Merciful .
27: 14 And they rejected those Signs In iniquity and arrogance, Though
27: 14 their souls were convinced Thereof: so see what was The end of
27: 14 those Who acted corruptly!
27: 14 SECTION 2.
27: 23 "I found (there) a woman Ruling over them and provided With
27: 23 every requisite; and she Has a magnificent throne.
27: 26 "Allah!- there is no god But He! -of the Throne Supreme!"
27: 29 (The Queen) said: "Ye chiefs! Here is-delivered to me- A letter
27: 29 worthy of respect.
27: 37 "Go back to them, and be sure We shall come to them With such
27: 37 hosts as they Will never be able to meet: We shall expel them
27: 37 From there in disgrace, And they will feel Humbled (indeed).
27: 48 There were in the City Nine men of a family, Who made mischief in
27: 48 the land, And would not reform.
27: 60 Or, who has created The heaven and the earth, And who sends you
27: 60 down Rain from the sky ? Yea, with it We cause To grow well-planted
27: 60 orchards Full of beauty and delight: It is not in your power To
27: 60 cause the growth Of the trees in them. (Can there be Another) god
27: 60 besides Allah ? Nay, they are a people Who swerve from justice.
27: 61 Or, who has made the earth Firm to live in; made Rivers in its
27: 61 midst; set Thereon mountains immovable; And made a separating bar
27: 61 Between the two bodies Of flowing water ? (Can there be another)
27: 61 god Besides Allah ? Nay, most Of them know not.
27: 62 Or, who listens to the (soul) Distressed when it calls On Him,
27: 62 and who relieves Its suffering, and makes you (Mankind) inheritors
27: 62 of the earth ? (Can there be another) god Besides Allah ? Little
27: 62 it is That ye heed!
27: 63 Or, who guides you Through the depths of darkness On land and sea,
27: 63 and who Sends the winds as heralds Of glad tidings, going before
27: 63 His Mercy ? (Can there be Another) god besides Allah ?- High is
27: 63 Allah above what They associate with him!
27: 64 Or, who originates Creation, Then repeats it, And who gives you
27: 64 sustenance From heaven and earth ? (Can there be another) god
27: 64 Besides Allah ? Say, "Bring forth Your argument, if ye Are telling
27: 64 the truth!"
27: 66 Still less can their knowledge Comprehend the Hereafter: nay, They
27: 66 are in doubt and uncertainty Thereanent; nay, they are blind
27: 66 Thereunto!
27: 66 SECTION 6.
27: 75 Nor is there aught Of the Unseen, in heaven Or earth, but is
27: 75 (recorded) In a clear record.
27: 89 If any do good good will (Accrue) to them therefrom; And they
27: 89 will be secure From terror that Day.
28: 9 The wife of Pharaoh said: "(Here is) a joy of the eye, For me and
28: 9 for thee: Slay him not. It may be That he will be of use To us
28: 9 or we may adopt Him as a son. "And they Perceived not (what they
28: 9 Were doing)!
28: 10 But there came to be A void in the heart Of the mother of Moses:
28: 10 She was going almost to Disclose his (case), had We Not strength-
28: 10 ened her heart (With faith), so that she Might remain a (firm)
28: 10 believer.
28: 15 And he entered the City At a time when its people Were not
28: 15 watching; and he Found there two men fighting,- One of his own
28: 15 religion And the other, of his foes. Now the man of his own
28: 15 Religion appealed to him Against his foe, and Moses Struck him
28: 15 with his fist And made an end of him He said: "This is a work
28: 15 Of Evil (Satan): for he is An enemy that manifestly Misleads!"
28: 20 And there came a man, Running from the furthest end Of the City.
28: 20 He said: "O Moses ! the Chiefs Are taking counsel together About
28: 20 thee, to slay thee: So get thee away, for I Do give thee
28: 20 sincere advice."
28: 21 He therefore got away therefrom, Looking about, in a state Of
28: 21 fear. He prayed : "O my Lord !save me From people given to
28: 21 wrong-doing ."
28: 21 SECTION 3.
28: 23 And when he arrived at The watering (place) in Madyan, He found
28: 23 there a group Of men watering (their flocks) And besides them
28: 23 he found Two women who were keeping Back (their flocks).
28: 23 He said: "What is the matter with you?' They said: "We cannot
28: 23 water (Our flocks) until the shepherds Take back (their flocks):
28: 23 And our father is A very old man."
28: 28 He said: "Be that (the agreement) Between me and thee : Whichever
28: 28 of the two terms I fulfil let there be No ill-will to me: Be Allah
28: 28 a witness To what we say."
28: 28 SECTION 4.
28: 29 Now when Moses had fulfilled The term, and was travelling With
28: 29 his family, he perceived A fire in the direction Of Mount Tur.
28: 29 He said To his family: "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; I hope To
28: 29 bring you from there Some information, or a burning Firebrand,
28: 29 that ye may Warm yourselves."
28: 37 Moses said: "My Lord Knows best who it is That comes with
28: 37 guidance From Him and whose End Will be best in the Hereafter
28: 37 Certain it is that The wrong-doers will not prosper."
28: 38 Pharaoh said: "O Chiefs! No god do I know for you But myself:
28: 38 therefore, O Haman! light me a (kiln To bake bricks) out of clay,
28: 38 And build me a lofty Palace, that I may mount up To the god of
28: 38 Moses: But as far as I am concerned, I think (Moses)is a liar!"
28: 53 And when it is recited To them, they say: "We Believe therein, for
28: 53 it is The Truth from our Lord: Indeed we have been Muslim
28: 53 (Bowing to Allah's Will) From before this."
28: 55 And when they hear vain talk, They turn away therefrom And say:"
28: 55 To us our deeds, And to you yours; Peace be to you: we Seek not the
28: 55 ignorant."
28: 60 The (material) things which Ye are given are but The conveniences
28: 60 of this life And the glitter thereof; But that which is with
28: 60 Allah Is better and more enduring: Will ye not then be wise "
28: 60 SECTION 7.
28: 62 That Day Allah will Call to them, and say: "Where are My'partners'-
28: 62 Whom ye imagined (to be such)?"
28: 70 And He is Allah: there is No god but He. To Him Be praise, at
28: 70 the first And at the last: For Him is the Command, And to him
28: 70 shall ye (All) be brought back.
28: 71 Say: See ye ? If Allah Were to make the Night Perpetual over
28: 71 you to the Day Of Judgment , what god Is there other than Allah
28: 71 Who can give you enlightenment? Will ye not then hearken?
28: 72 Say: See ye? If Allah Were to make the Day Perpetual over you
28: 72 to the Day Of Judgment, what god Is there other than Allah, Who
28: 72 can give you a Night In which ye can rest? Will ye not then see?
28: 73 It is out of His Mercy That He has made for you Night and Day,-
28: 73 that ye May rest therein, and that Ye may seek of His Grace;-
28: 73 And in order that ye May be grateful.
28: 74 The Day that He will Call on them, He will say:" Where are My
28: 74 partners' Whom ye imagined (to be such)?"
28: 77 "But seek, with the (wealth) Which Allah has bestowed on thee,
28: 77 The Home of the Hereafter, Nor forget thy portion in this World:
28: 77 but do thou good, As Allah has been good To thee, and seek not
28: 77 (Occasions for) mischief in the land: For Allah loves not those
28: 77 Who do mischief."
28: 80 But those who had been granted (True) knowledge said:" Alas For
28: 80 you ! The reward of Allah (In the Hereafter) is best For those
28: 80 who believe And work righteousness: but this None shall attain
28: 80 save those Who steadfastly persevere (in good).
28: 83 That Home of the Hereafter We shall give to those Who intend not
28: 83 high-handedness Or mischief on earth : And the End is (best) For
28: 83 the righteous.
28: 86 And thou hadst not expected That the Book would be Sent to thee
28: 86 except as A Mercy from thy Lord: Therefore lend not thou support
28: 86 In any way to those Who reject (Allah's Message).
28: 88 And call not, besides Allah, On another god. There is No god but
28: 88 He. Everything (That exists) will perish Except His own Face.
28: 88 To Him belongs the Command, And to Him will ye (All) be
28: 88 brought back.
29: 5 For those whose hopes are In the meeting with Allah (In the
29: 5 Hereafter, let them strive); For the Term (appointed) By Allah is
29: 5 surely coming: And He hears and knows (All things).
29: 10 Then there are among men Such as say, "We believe In Allah"; but
29: 10 when they suffer Affiction in (the cause of) Allah, They treat
29: 10 men's oppression As if it were the Wrath Of Allah! And if help
29: 10 Comes (to thee) from thy Lord, They are sure to say, "We have
29: 10 (always) been With you! "Does not Allah Know best all that is In
29: 10 the hearts of all Creation?
29: 23 Those who reject the Signs Of Allah and The Meeting, With Him
29: 23 (in the Hereafter)- It is they who shall despair Of My mercy:
29: 23 it is they Who will (suffer) A most grievous Penalty.
29: 27 And We gave (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob, and ordained Among his
29: 27 progeny Prophethood And Revelation, and We Granted him his reward
29: 27 In this life; and he was In the Hereafter (of the company) Of the
29: 27 Righteous.
29: 32 He said: "But there is Lut there." They said: "Well do we know who
29: 32 Is there: we will certainly Save him and his following,- Except
29: 32 his wife: she is Of those who lag behind!"
29: 33 And when Our Messengers Came to Lut, he was Grieved on their
29: 33 account, And felt himself powerless (To protect) them: but they
29: 33 said: "Fear thou not, nor grieve: We are (here) to save thee And
29: 33 thy following, except Thy wife: she is Of those who lag behind.
29: 35 And We have left thereof An evident Sign, For any people who
29: 35 (Care to) understand.
29: 39 (Remember also) Qarun, Pharaoh, and Haman: there came To them Moses
29: 39 with Clear Signs, But they behaved with insolence On the earth;
29: 39 yet they Could not overreach (Us).
29: 47 And thus (it is) that We Have sent down the Book To thee. So the
29: 47 People Of the Book believe therein, As also do some of these (Pagan
29: 47 Arabs): and none But Unbelievers reject Our Signs.
29: 49 Nay, here are Signs Self-evident in the hearts Of those endowed
29: 49 with Knowledge: And none but the unjust Reject Our Signs.
29: 56 O My servants who believe ! Truly spacious is My Earth :
29: 56 Therefore serve ye Me- (And Me alone)!
29: 58 But those who believe And work deeds of righteousness- To them
29: 58 shall We give A Home in Heaven,- Lofty mansions beneathg which
29: 58 Flow rivers,- to dwell therein For aye; an excellent reward For
29: 58 those who do (good)!
29: 63 And if indeed thou ask them Who it is that sends down Rain
29: 63 from the sky, And gives life therewith To the earth after
29: 63 its death, They will certainly reply, "Allah ! "Say, "Praise be
29: 63 To Allah!" But most Of them understand not.
29: 63 SECTION 7.
29: 64 What is the life of this world But amusement and play? But verily
29: 64 the Home In the Hereafter,- that is Life indeed if they but knew.
29: 68 And who does more wrong Than he who invent A lie against Allah
29: 68 Or rejects the truth When it reaches him! Is there not a home In
29: 68 Hell for those who Reject Faith?
30: 8 Do they not reflect In their own minds? Not but for just ends And
30: 8 for a term appointed, Did Allah create the heavens And the
30: 8 earth and all Between them: yet are there Truly many among men
30: 8 Who deny the meeting With their Lord (At the Resurrection )!
30: 9 Do they not travel Through the earth, and see What was the
30: 9 End Of those before them? They were superior to them In strength
30: 9 they tilled The soil and populated it In greater numbers than
30: 9 these Have done: there came to them Their apostles with Clear
30: 9 (Signs), (Which they rejected, to their Own destruction ): It was
30: 9 not Allah Who wronged them, but They wronged their own souls.
30: 16 And those who have rejected Faith and falsely denied Our signs
30: 16 and the meeting Of the Hereafter,- such Shall be brought forth to
30: 16 Punishment.
30: 29 Nay, the wrong-doers (merely) Follow their own lusts, Being
30: 29 devoid of knowledge. But who will guide those Whom Allah leaves
30: 29 astray? To them there will be No helpers.
30: 30 So set thou thy face Steadily and truly to the Faith: (Establish)
30: 30 Allah's handiwork according To the pattern on which He has made
30: 30 mankind : No change (let there be) In the work (wrought) By Allah:
30: 30 that is The standard Religion: But most among mankind Understand
30: 30 not .
30: 36 When We give men A taste of Mercy, They exult there at: And when
30: 36 some evil Afficts them because of What their (own) hands Have
30: 36 sent forth behold They are in despair!
30: 40 It is Allah Who has Created you: further, He has Provided for your
30: 40 sustenance; Then He will cause you To die; and again He will
30: 40 Give you life. Are there Any of your (false) "Partners" Who can
30: 40 do any single One of these things? Glory to Him ! and High Is He
30: 40 above the partners They attribute (to Him)!
30: 40 SECTION 5.
30: 43 But set thou thy face To the right Religion, Before there come
30: 43 from Allah The Day which there is No chance of averting : On that
30: 43 Day shall men Be divided (in two).
30: 48 It is Allah Who sends The Winds and they raise The Clouds: then
30: 48 does He Spread them in the sky As He wills and break them Into
30: 48 fragments, until thou seest Rain-drops issue from the midst
30: 48 There of : then when He has Made them reach such Of His servants
30: 48 as He wills Behold, they do rejoice!-
30: 51 And if We (but) send A Wind from which They see (their tilth)
30: 51 Turn yellow,- behold They become , thereafter, Ungrateful
30: 51 (Unbelievers)!
31: 4 Those who establish regular Prayer And give regular Charity, And
31: 4 have (in their hearts) The assurance of the Hereafter.
31: 6 But there are, among men Those who purchase idle tales, Without
31: 6 knowledge (or meaning) To mislead (men) from the Path Of Allah
31: 6 and throw ridicule (On the Path): for such There will be a
31: 6 humiliating Penalty.
31: 7 When Our Sings are rehearsed To such a one he turns Away in
31: 7 arrogance, as if He heard them not, as if There were deafness
31: 7 in both His ears: announce to him A grievous Penalty.
31: 8 For those who believe And work righteous deeds There will be
31: 8 Gardens Of Bliss,-
31: 11 Such is the Creation of Allah: Now show Me what is there That
31: 11 others besides Him Have created: nay, but The Transgressors are
31: 11 In manifest error.
31: 11 SECTION 2.
31: 16 "O my son !"(said Luqman), "If there be (but) the weight Of a
31: 16 mustard-seed and It were (hidden) in a rock, Or (any where)
31: 16 in the heavens or On earth, Allah will bring it Forth: for Allah
31: 16 understands The finest mysteries , (and) Is well-acquainted
31: 16 (with them).
31: 20 Do ye not see That Allah has subjected To your (use) all things
31: 20 In the heavens and on earth, And has made His bounties
31: 20 Flow to you in exceeding Measure (both) seen and unseen? Yet
31: 20 there are among men Those who dispute about Allah, Without
31: 20 knowledge and without Guidance, and without a Book To enligthen
31: 20 them !
31: 32 When a wave covers them Like the canopy (of clouds) They call
31: 32 to Allah, Offering Him sincere devotion. But when He has
31: 32 delivered them Safely to land there are Among them those that
31: 32 halt Between (right and wrong). But none reject Our Signs
31: 32 Except only a perfidious Ungrateful (wretch)!
32: 2 (This is) the revelation Of the Book in which There is no doubt,-
32: 2 From the Lord of the Worlds.
32: 5 He rules (all)affairs From the heavens To the earth;in the end will
32: 5 (all affairs) go up To Him, on a Day, The space whereof will be
32: 5 (As) a thousand years Of your reekoning.
32: 20 As to those who are Rebellious and wicked, their abode Will be
32: 20 the Fire: every time They wish to get away Therefrom, they will be
32: 20 forced Thereinto, and it will be said To them:" Taste ye The
32: 20 Penalty of the Fire, The which ye were wont To reject as false."
32: 22 And who does more wrong Than one to whom are recited The Signs
32: 22 of his Lord, And who then turns away Therefrom ? Verily from those
32: 22 Who transgress We shall exact (Due) Retribution.
32: 22 SECTION 3.
32: 25 Verily thy Lord will judge Between them on the Day Of Judgement,
32: 25 in the matters Wherein they differ (among themselves).
32: 27 And do they not see That We do drive Rain To parched soil
32: 27 (bare Ofherbage) and produce therewith Crops, providing food
32: 27 For their cattle and themselves ? Have they not the vision?
33: 5 Call them by (the names) Of their fathers: that is Juster in the
33: 5 sight of Allah But if ye know not Their fathers (names, call Them)
33: 5 your Brothers in faith Or your Maulas. But there is no blame On
33: 5 you if ye make A mistake therein : (What counts is) The intention
33: 5 of your hearts: And Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.
33: 9 O ye who believe! Remember the Grace of Allah (Bestowed) on you,
33: 9 when There came down on you Hosts (to overwhelm you): But We sent
33: 9 against them A hurricane and force That ye saw not But Allah
33: 9 sees (clearly) All that ye do.
33: 13 Behold! A party among them Said:"Ye men of Yathrib! Ye cannot
33: 13 stand (the attack)! Therefore go back! "And a band of them Ask
33: 13 for leave of the Prophet Saying, "Truly our houses Are bare and
33: 13 exposed, "though They were not exposed: They intended nothing but
33: 13 To run away.
33: 29 But if ye seek Allah And His Apostle and The Home of the Hereafter
33: 29 Verily Allah has prepared For the well-doers amongst you
33: 29 A great reward.
33: 37 Behold! thou didst say To one who had received The grace of Allah
33: 37 And thy favour:"Retain thou (In wedlock) thy wife, And fear Allah."
33: 37 But thou Didst hide in thy heart That which Allah was about To
33: 37 make manifest: thou didst Fear the people but it is More fitting
33: 37 that thou shouldst Fear Allah. Then when Zaid Had dissolved
33: 37 (his marriage) With her, with the necessary (Formality), We joined
33: 37 her In marriage to thee: In order that (in future) There may be no
33: 37 difficulty To the Believers in (the matter Of) marriage with the
33: 37 wives Of their adopted sons, when The latter have dissolved With
33: 37 the necessary (formality) (Their marriage) with them: And Allah's
33: 37 command must Be fulfilled.
33: 38 There can be no difficulty To the Prophet in what Allah has
33: 38 indicated to him As a duty. It was The practice (approved) Of Allah
33: 38 Amongst those of old That have passed away. And the command of
33: 38 Allah is a decree determinted.
33: 50 O Prophet! We have Made lawful to thee Thy wives to whom thou Hast
33: 50 paid their dowers; And those whom thy Right hand possesses out of
33: 50 The prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee; And daughters
33: 50 of thy paternal Uncles and aunts, and daughters Of thy maternal
33: 50 uncles And aunts who migrated (From Mecca) with thee; And any
33: 50 believing woman Who dedicates her soul To the Prophet if the
33: 50 Prophet Wishes to wed her; -this Only for thee and not For the
33: 50 Believers (at large); We know what We have Appointed for them
33: 50 as to Their wives and the captives Whom their right hands Possess;
33: 50 -in order that There should be no difficulty For thee. And
33: 50 Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
33: 51 Thou mayest defer (the turn Of) any of them that thou Pleasest,
33: 51 and thou mayest receive Any thou pleasest: and there Is no
33: 51 blame on thee if Thou invite one whose(turn) Thou hadst set aside
33: 51 This were nigher to The cooling of their eyes The prevention of
33: 51 their grief, And their satisfaction That of all of them -With
33: 51 that which thou Hast to give them: And Allah knows (all) That
33: 51 is in your hearts: And Allah is All-Knowing, Most Forbearing.
33: 55 There is no blame (On these ladies if they Appear) before
33: 55 their fathers Or their sons, their brothers, Or their brothers'
33: 55 sons, Or their sisters' sons Or their women, Or the (slaves) whom
33: 55 Their right hands possess. And (ladies) fear Allah: For Allah is
33: 55 Witness To all things.
33: 57 Those who annoy Allah and His Apostle- Allah has cursed them In
33: 57 this world and In the hereafter And has prepared for them A
33: 57 humiliating Punishment.
33: 61 They shall have a curse On them : wherever they Are found, they
33: 61 shall be Seized and slain (Without mercy).
33: 63 Men ask thee concerning The Hour: say," The knowledge Thereof
33: 63 is with Allah (alone) ": And what will make thee Understsnd ?-
33: 63 perchance The Hour is nigh!
33: 65 To dwell therein for ever: No protector will they find, Nor
33: 65 helper.
33: 72 We did indeed offer The Trust to the Heavens And the Earth And
33: 72 the Mountains: But they refused To undertake it, Being afraid
33: 72 thereof : But man undertook it:- He was indeed unjust And foolish
34: 1 Praise be to Allah. To Whom belong all things In the heavens
34: 1 and on earth: To Him be Praise In the Hereafter : And He is Full
34: 1 of Wisdom, Acquainted with all things.
34: 2 He knows all that goes Into the earth and all that Comes out
34: 2 there of; all that Comes down from the sky And all that ascends
34: 2 thereto: And He is the Most Merciful, The Oft-Forgiving.
34: 3 The Unbelievers say, "Never to us will come The Hour": say, Nay!
34: 3 But most surely By my Lord it will come Upon you;- by Him Who knows
34: 3 the unseen From Whom is not hidden The least little atom In the
34: 3 Heavens or on earth: Nor is there anything less Than that or
34: 3 greater, but Is in the Record Perspicuous:
34: 8 "Has he invented a falsehood Against Allah, or has A spirit
34: 8 (seized) him?"- Nay ,it is those who Believe not in the Hereafter,
34: 8 That are in (real ) Penalty And in farthest Error.
34: 12 And to Solomon (We Made) the Wind (obedient): Its early morning
34: 12 (stride) Was a month's (journey), And its evening (stride) Was a
34: 12 month's (journey); And We made a Font Of molten brass to flow For
34: 12 him; and there were Jinns that worked in front Of him by the
34: 12 leave Of his Lord, and if any Of them truned aside From Our
34: 12 command We Made him taste Of the Penalty Of the Blazing Fire.
34: 15 There was for Saba Aforetime a Sign in their Homeland-two Gardens
34: 15 To the right and to the left. "Eat of the Sustenance (provided)
34: 15 By your Lord and be grateful To Him: a territory fair and happy,
34: 15 And a Lord Oft-Forgiving!
34: 18 Between them and the Cities On which We had poured Our blessings,
34: 18 We had placed Cities in prominent positions, And between them We
34: 18 had Appointed stages of journey In due proportion:"Travel therein,
34: 18 Secure, by night and by day."
34: 19 But they said:"Our Lord! Place long distances Between our journey-
34: 19 stages". But they wronged themselves (therein ). At Length We
34: 19 made them As a tale (that is told), And We dispersed them All in
34: 19 scattered fragments. Verily in this are Signs For every (soul that
34: 19 is) Patiently constant and grateful.
34: 21 But he had no authority Over them ,- except that We Might test the
34: 21 man who Believes in the Hereafter From him who is in doubt
34: 21 Concerning it: and thy Lord Doth watch over all things
34: 21 SECTION 3.
34: 22 Say:'Call upon other (gods) Whom ye fancy ,besides Allah: They
34: 22 have no power,- Not the weight of an atom,- In the heavens or on
34: 22 earth; No (sort of) share have they Therein nor is any of them
34: 22 A helper to Allah.
34: 37 It is not your wealth Nor your sons, that will Bring you nearer
34: 37 to Us In degree: but only Those who believe and work Righteousness-
34: 37 these are The ones for whom there is A multiplied Reward For their
34: 37 deeds, while Secure they (reside) In the dwellings on high!
34: 51 If thou couldst but see When they will quake With terror; but
34: 51 then There will be no escape (For them), and they will be Seized
34: 51 from a position (Quite) near.
35: 2 What Allah out of His Mercy Doth bestow on mankind There is none
35: 2 can withhold: What He doth withhold, There is none can grant,
35: 2 Apart from Him And He is the Exalted In Power , Full of Wisdom.
35: 3 O men! call to mind The grace of Allah unto you! Is there a
35: 3 Creator, other Than Allah, to give you Sustenance from heaven
35: 3 Or earth? There is No god but He: how Then are ye deluded
35: 3 Away from the Truth?
35: 6 Verily Satan is an enemy To you: so treat him As an enemy.
35: 6 He only Invites his adherents, That they may become Companions
35: 6 of the Blazing Fire.
35: 9 It is Allah Who sends Forth the Winds, so that They raise up the
35: 9 Clouds, And We drive them To a land that is dead, And revive the
35: 9 earth therewith After its death : even so (Will be) the
35: 9 Resurrection!
35: 12 Nor are the two bodies Of flowing water alike,- The one palatable,
35: 12 sweet, And pleasant to drink, And the other, salt And bitter.
35: 12 Yet from each (Kind of water) do ye Eat flesh fresh and tender.
35: 12 And ye extract ornaments To wear; and thou seest The ships there
35: 12 in that plough The waves, that ye may Seek (thus) of the Bounty
35: 12 Of Allah that ye May be grateful.
35: 24 Verily We have sent thee In truth, as a bearer Of glad tidings,
35: 24 And as a warner: And there never was A people, without a warner
35: 24 Having lived among them (In the past).
35: 32 Then We have given The Book for inheritance To such of Our servants
35: 32 As We have chosen: But there are among them Some who wrong their
35: 32 own Souls; some who follow A middle course; and some Who are by
35: 32 Allah's leave, Foremost in good deeds; That is the highest Grace.
35: 33 Gardens of Eternity will they Enter: therein will they Be adorned
35: 33 with bracelets Of gold and pearls; And their garments there Will
35: 33 be of silk.
35: 35 "Who has, out of His Bounty, Settled us in a Home That will last:
35: 35 no toil Nor sense of weariness Shall touch us therein ."
35: 37 Therein will they cry Aloud (for assistance): "Our Lord! Bring
35: 37 us out; We shall work righteousness, Not the (deeds) we used To
35: 37 do !"-"Did We not Give you long enough life So that he that would
35: 37 Should receive admonition? And (more over) the warner Came to you.
35: 37 So taste ye (The fruit of your deeds): For the Wrong-doers
35: 37 There is no helper."
35: 37 SECTION 5.
35: 41 It is Allah Who sustains The heavens and the earth, Lest they
35: 41 cease (to function): And if they should fail, There is none -not
35: 41 one- Can sustain them thereafter : Verily He is Most Forbearing;
35: 41 Oft-Forgiving.
35: 43 On account of their arrogance In the land and their Plotting of
35: 43 Evil. But the plotting of Evil Will hem in only The authors there
35: 43 of. Now Are they but looking for The way the ancients Were dealt
35: 43 with? But No change wilt thou find In Allah's way (of dealing):
35: 43 No turning off wilt thou Find in Allah's way (of dealing).
36: 6 In order that thou mayest Admonish a people, Whose fathers had
36: 6 received No admonition, and who Therefore remain heedless
36: 6 (Of the Signs of Allah).
36: 11 Thou canst but admonish Such a one as follows The Message and
36: 11 fears The (Lord) Most Gracious, unseen: Give such a one, therefore,
36: 11 Good tidings, of Forgiveness And a Reward most generous.
36: 13 Set forth to them, By way of a parable, The (story of) the
36: 13 Companions Of the City. Behold, There came apostles to it.
36: 20 Then there came running. From the farthest part Of the City, a
36: 20 man, Saying, "O my People ! Obey the apostles:
36: 30 Ah! alas for (My) servants! There comes not an apostle To them
36: 30 but they mock him!
36: 33 A Sign for them Is the earth that is dead; We do give it life,
36: 33 And produce grain therefrom, Of which ye do eat.
36: 34 And We produce therein Orchards with date-palms And vines, and
36: 34 We cause Springs to gush forth therein:
36: 37 And a Sign for them Is the Night : We withdraw Therefrom the
36: 37 Day, and behold They are plunged in darkness;
36: 39 And the Moon,- We have measured for her Mansions (to traverse)
36: 39 Till she returns Like the old (and withered) Lower part of
36: 39 date-stalk.
36: 43 If it were Our Will, We could drown them; Then would there be No
36: 43 helper (to hear Their cry), nor could They be delivered,
36: 46 Not a Sign comes to them From among the Signs Of their Lord, but
36: 46 they Turn away therefrom.
36: 57 (Every) fruit (enjoyment) Will be there for them; They shall have
36: 57 whatever They call for;
36: 80 "The same Who produces For you fire out of The green tree, when
36: 80 behold! Ye kindle therewith (Your own fires)!
36: 81 "Is not He Who created The heavens and the earth Able to create
36: 81 the like Thereof ?"- Yea, indeed! For he is the Creator Supreme,
36: 81 Of skill and knowledge (infinite)
37: 35 For they when they were Told that there is No god except Allah,
37: 35 would Puff themselves up with Pride,
37: 46 Crystal-white, of a taste Delicious to those Who drink (thereof),
37: 47 Free from headiness; Nor will they suffer Intoxication therefrom.
37: 57 "Had it not been for The Grace of my Lord I should certainly
37: 57 have been Among those brought (there)!
37: 66 Truly they will eat thereof And fill their bellies therewith.
37:134 Behold, We delivered him And his adherents, all
37:150 Or that We created The angels female, and they Are witnesses
37:150 (thereto)?
37:167 And there were those Who said,
38: 3 How many generations Before them did We destroy ? In the end they
38: 3 cried (For mercy)- when There was no longer time For being saved!
38: 11 But there -will be Put to flight even a host Of confederates
38: 19 And the birds gathered (In assemblies): all with him Did turn
38: 19 (to Allah).
38: 24 (David) said:"He has Undoubtedly wronged thee In demanding thy
38: 24 (single) ewe To be added to his (flock Of) ewes: truly many Are
38: 24 the Partners (in business ) Who wrong each other : Not so do those
38: 24 who believe And work deeds of righteousness, And how few are they?"
38: 24 And David gathered that We Had tried him: He asked Forgiveness
38: 24 of his Lord, Fell down, bowing (In prostration), and turned
38: 24 (To Allah in repentance).
38: 29 (Here is) a Book which We have sent down Unto thee, full of
38: 29 blessings, That they may meditate On its Signs, and that Men of
38: 29 understanding may Receive admonition .
38: 31 Behold, there were brought Before him, at eventide Coursers of the
38: 31 highest breeding And swift of foot;
38: 42 (The command was given): "Strike with thy foot: Here is (water)
38: 42 wherein To wash, cool and refreshing, And (water) to drink."
38: 44 "And take in thy hand A little grass, and strike therewith:
38: 44 and break not (Thy oath). " Truly We found Himfull of patience
38: 44 and constancy : How excellent in Our service! Ever did he turn
38: 44 (to Us)!
38: 46 Verily We did choose them For a special (purpose)- Proclaiming the
38: 46 Message Of the Hereafter.
38: 51 Therein will they Recline(at ease); Therein can they Call (at
38: 51 pleasure) For fruit in abundance, And (delicious) drink;
38: 56 Hell!-they will burn Therein,- and evil bed (Indeed,to lie on)!-
38: 59 Here is a troop Rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them!
38: 59 Truly, they shall burn In the Fire!
38: 65 Say:"Truly am I A Warner: no god Is there but the One Allah,
38: 65 Supreme and Irresistible,-
38: 77 (Allah) said:"Then get thee Out from here: for thou Art rejected,
38: 77 accursed.
39: 3 Is it not to Allah That sincere devotion Is due? But those who
39: 3 Take for protectors other Than Allah (say):"We only Serve them
39: 3 in order that They may bring us nearer To Allah."Truly Allah Will
39: 3 Judge between them In that wherein they differ. But Allah guides
39: 3 not Such as are false And ungrateful.
39: 6 He created you (all) From a single Person: Then created, of like
39: 6 nature, His mate; and He Sent down for you eight head Of cattle
39: 6 in pairs: He makes you, In the wombs Of your mothers ,In stages,
39: 6 one after another. In three veils of darkness, Such is Allah ,your
39: 6 Lord And Cherisher : to Him belongs (All) dominion. There is No
39: 6 god but He : then How are ye turned away (From your true Centre)?
39: 9 Is one who worships devoutly During the hours of the night
39: 9 Prostrating himself or standing (In adoration), who takes heed
39: 9 Of the Hereafter and who Places his hope in the Mercy Of his
39: 9 Lord-(like one Who does not )? Say:" Are those equal those who
39: 9 know And those who do not know? It is those who are Endued with
39: 9 understanding That receive admonition."
39: 9 SECTION 2.
39: 21 Seest thou not that Allah Sends down rain from The sky; and leads
39: 21 it Through springs in the earth? Then He causes to grow, Therewith
39: 21 produce of various Colours: then it withers ; Thou wilt see
39: 21 it grow yellow; Then He makes it Dry up and crumble away. Truly,
39: 21 in this, is A Message of remembrance to Men of understanding.
39: 21 SECTION 3.
39: 23 Allah has revealed (From time to time) The most beautiful Message
39: 23 In the form of a Book, Consistent with itself, (Yet) repeating
39: 23 (its teaching In various aspects): The skins of those who Fear
39: 23 their Lord tremble Thereat; then their skins And their hearts
39: 23 do soften To the celebration of Allah's praises. Such is The
39: 23 guidance of Allah: He guides therewith Whom He pleases, but such
39: 23 As Allah leaves to stray, Can have none to guide.
39: 24 Is, then, one who Has to fear the brunt Of the Penalty on the
39: 24 Day Of Judgment (and receive it) On his face, (like one Guarded
39: 24 therefrom )? It will Be said to the wrong-doers: "Taste ye
39: 24 (the fruits Of) what ye earned?"
39: 26 So Allah gave them A taste of humiliation In the present life,
39: 26 But greater is the Punishment Of the Hereafter, If they only knew!
39: 28 (It is) a Qur-an In Arabic, without any Crookedness (therein ):
39: 28 In order that they May guard against Evil.
39: 32 Who then, doth more wrong Than one who utters A lie concerning
39: 32 Allah And rejects the Truth When it comes to him? Is there not in
39: 32 Hell An abode for blasphemers?
39: 36 Is not Allah enough For His servant? But They try to frighten thee
39: 36 With other (gods) besides Him! For such as Allah leaves To stray,
39: 36 there can be No guide.
39: 37 And such as Allah doth Guide there can be None to lead astray
39: 37 Is not Allah Exalted In Power ,(Able to enforce His Will),
39: 37 Lord of Retribution?
39: 45 When Allah, the One and Only, Is mentioned, the hearts Of those
39: 45 who believe not In the Hereafter are filled With disgust and
39: 45 horror; But when (gods) other than He Are mentioned, behold ,
39: 45 They are filled with joy!
39: 47 Even if the wrong-doers Had all that there is On earth, and as
39: 47 much more, (In vain) would they offer it For ransom from the
39: 47 pain Of the Penalty on the Day Of Judgment: but something Will
39: 47 confront them from Allah, Which they could never Have counted
39: 47 upon!
39: 59 "(The reply will be:) 'Nay, But there came to thee My signs, and
39: 59 thou didst Reject them: thou wast Haughty, and became one Of those
39: 59 who reject Faith!"
39: 60 On the Day of Judgment Wilt thou see those Who told lies against
39: 60 Allah;- Their faces will be turned Black; is there not In Hell an
39: 60 abode For the Haughty?
39: 71 The Unbelievers will be Led to Hell in crowds;Until, when they arriv
39: 71 e there, its gates will be opened,And its Keepers will say; "Did not
39: 71 apostles come To you from among yourselves, Rehearsing to you the
39: 71 Signs Of your Lord, and warning you Of the Meeting of this Day Of
39: 71 yours?" The answer Will be: "True: but The Decree of Punishment Has
39: 71 been proved true Against the Unbelievers!"
39: 72 (To them) will be said: "Enter ye the gates of Hell, To dwell
39: 72 therein: And evil is (this) A bode of the arrogant!"
39: 73 And those who feared Their Lord will be led To the Garden in
39: 73 crowds. Until behold, they arrive there; Its gates will be opened;
39: 73 And its Keepers will say: "Peace be upon you! Well have ye done!
39: 73 Enter ye here, To dwell ;therein."
40: 3 Who forgiveth Sin, Accepteth Repentance Is Strict in Punishment,
40: 3 And hath a Long Reach (In all things). There is no god But He:
40: 3 to Him Is the Final Goal.
40: 5 But (there were people ) before them, Who denied (the Signs ),-
40: 5 The people of Noah, And the Confederates (Of Evil) after them;
40: 5 And every people plotted Against their prophet, To seize him,
40: 5 and disputed By means of vanities ,Therewith to condemn The
40: 5 Truth; but it was I That seized them! And how (terrible),
40: 5 Was my Requital!
40: 11 They will say:" Our Lord! Twice hast Thou made us Without life,
40: 11 and twice Hast Thou given us Life! Now have we recognised Our
40: 11 sins: is there Any way out (of this)?"
40: 16 The Day whereon They will (all) come forth: Not a single thing
40: 16 Concerning them is hidden From Allah. Whose will be The Dominion
40: 16 that Day; That of Allah the One The Irresistible!
40: 17 That Day will every soul Be requited for what It earned; no
40: 17 injustice Will there be that Day, For Allah is Swift In taking
40: 17 account.
40: 22 That was because there came To them their apostles With Clear
40: 22 (Signs), But they rejected them: So Allah called them. To account
40: 22 for He is Full of Strength, Strict in Punishment.
40: 32 "And, O my People! I fear for you a Day When there will be
40: 32 Mutual calling (and wailing),-
40: 33 A Day when ye Shall turn your backs And flee: no defender Shall
40: 33 ye have from Allah: Any whom Allah leaves To stray, there is
40: 33 none To guide...
40: 34 "And to you there came Joseph in times gone by With Clear Signs,
40: 34 but Ye ceased not to doubt Of the (mission) for which He had come:
40: 34 at length, When he died, ye said: 'No apostle will Allah send
40: 34 After him.' Thus doth Allah Leave to stray such as Transgress
40: 34 and live in doubt,-
40: 39 "O my People ! This life Of the present is nothing But
40: 39 (temporary) convenience: It is the Hereafter That is the Home
40: 39 That will last.
40: 40 "He that works evil Will not be requited But by the like thereof:
40: 40 And he that works A righteous deed- whether Man or woman-and is
40: 40 A believer-such will enter The Garden (of Bliss): therein
40: 40 Will they have abundance Without measure.
40: 43 "Without doubt ye do call Me to one who is not Fit to be called
40: 43 to, Whether in this world, Or in the Hereafter; Our Return will
40: 43 be To Allah; and the Transgressors Will be Companions Of the Fire!
40: 50 They will say:"Did there Not come to you Your apostles with Clear
40: 50 Signs?" They will say," Yes They will reply ,"Then 4423 Pray
40: 50 (as ye like ) ! But The Prayer of those Without Faith is nothing
40: 50 But (futile wandering) In (mazes of) error!"
40: 50 SECTION 6.
40: 56 Those who dispute About the Signs of Allah Without any authority
40: 56 Bestowed on them, -there is Nothing in their breasts But
40: 56 (the quest of) greatness, Which they shall never Attain to: seek
40: 56 refuge, Then in Allah: it is He Who hears and sees (all things).
40: 59 The Hour will certainly come: Therein is no doubt: Yet most
40: 59 men believe not.
40: 61 It is Allah Who has Made the Night for you, That ye may rest
40: 61 therein, And the Day, as that Which helps (you) to see. Verily
40: 61 Allah is Full of Grace and Bounty to men: Yet most men give No
40: 61 thanks.
40: 62 Such is Allah, your Lord, The Creator of all things There
40: 62 is no god but He: Then how ye are deluded Away from the Truth!
40: 65 He is the living (One): There is no god but He: Call upon Him,
40: 65 giving Him Sincere devotion. Praise be To Allah, Lord of the
40: 65 Worlds!
40: 67 It is He Who has Created you from dust. Then from a sperm-drop,
40: 67 Then from a leech-like clot; Then does He get you Out (into the
40: 67 light) As a child: then lets you (Grow and) reach your age Of
40: 67 full strength; then Lets you become old,- Though of you there
40: 67 are Some who die before;- And lets you reach A Term appointed: In
40: 67 order that ye May learn wisdom.
40: 73 Then shall it be said To them:"Where are The (deities) to which Ye
40: 73 gave part-worship-
40: 76 "Enter ye the gates Of Hell, to dwell therein: And evil is
40: 76 (this) abode Of the arrogant!"
40: 78 We did aforetime send Apostles before thee: of them There are
40: 78 some whose story We have related to thee And some whose story
40: 78 We have not related To thee: It was not (Possible) for any
40: 78 apostle to bring a Sign except By the leave of Allah: But when
40: 78 the Command of Allah issued, The matter was decided In truth
40: 78 and justice, And there perished, There and then, those Who stood
40: 78 on Falsehoods.
40: 78 SECTION 9.
40: 80 And there are (other ) advantages In them for you (besides);
40: 80 That ye may through them Attain to any need (There may be)
40: 80 in your hearts; And on them and on ships Ye are carried.
41: 3 A Book, whereof the verses Are explained in detail;-A Qur-an in
41: 3 Arabic, For people who understand;-
41: 7 Those who practise not Regular Charity, and who Even deny the
41: 7 Hereafter.
41: 10 He set on the (earth), Mountains standing firm, High above it,
41: 10 And bestowed blessings on The earth, and measured therein All
41: 10 things to give them Nourishment in due proportion, In four Days,
41: 10 in accordance With (the needs of) Those who seek(sustenance).
41: 16 So We sent against them A furious Wind through days Of disaster,
41: 16 that We might Give them a taste Of a Penalty of humiliation In
41: 16 this Life, but the Penalty Of a Hereafter will be More humiliating
41: 16 still: And they will find No help.
41: 19 On the Day that The enemies of Allah Will be gathered together
41: 19 To the Fire, they will Be marched in ranks.
41: 28 Such is the requital Of the enemies of Allah,- The Fire: therein
41: 28 will be For them the Eternal Home: A (fit) requital, for That
41: 28 they were wont To reject Our Signs.
41: 31 "We are your protectors. In this life and In the Hereafter:
41: 31 Therein shall ye have All that your souls Shall desire; therein
41: 31 Shall ye have all that ye ask for !
41: 44 Had We sent this as A Qur-an (in a language) Other than Arabic,
41: 44 they would Have said:"Why are not Its verses explained in detail?
41: 44 What! (a Book) not in Arabic And (a Messenger) an Arab:?"
41: 44 Say:"It is a guide And a healing to those Who believe; and for
41: 44 those Who believe not, there is A deafness in their ears, And it is
41: 44 blindness in their (eyes); They are (as it were) Being called
41: 44 from a place Far distant!"
41: 44 SECTION 6.
41: 45 We certainly gave Moses The Book aforetime: but dispute Arose
41: 45 therein. Had it not Been for a Word That went forth before From
41: 45 thy lord, (their differences) would have been settled between them:
41: 45 but they Remained in suspicious Disquieting doubt thereon.
41: 47 To Him is referred The Knowledge of the Hour (Of Judgment: He
41: 47 knows all): No date-fruit comes out Of its sheath, nor does A
41: 47 female conceive (within Her womb) nor bring forth (Young),
41: 47 but by His Knowledge. The Day that (Allah) will Propound To
41: 47 them the (question), "Where are the Partners (Ye attributed)
41: 47 to Me?"They will say,"We do Assure Thee not one Of us can bear
41: 47 witness!"
42: 7 Thus have We sent By inspiration to thee An Arabic Qur-an:that thou
42: 7 mayest warn The Mother of Cities And all around her,- And warn
42: 7 (them) of The Day of Assembly, Of which there is no doubt: (When)
42: 7 some will be In the Garden, and some In the Blazing Fire.
42: 10 Whatever it be wherein Ye differ, the decision Thereof is with
42: 10 Allah:Such is Allah my Lord: In Him I trust, And to Him I turn.
42: 11 (He is) the Creator Of the heavens and The earth: He has made
42: 11 For you pairs From among yourselves, And pairs among cattle:
42: 11 By this means does He Multiply you: there is nothing Whatever
42: 11 like unto Him, And He is the One That hears and sees (all things).
42: 13 The same religion has He Established for you as that Which he
42: 13 enjoined on Noah- The which We have sent By inspiration to thee-
42: 13 And that which We enjoined On Abraham, Moses and Jesus: Namely,
42: 13 that ye should remain Steadfast in Religion, and make No divisions
42: 13 therein. To those who worship Other things than Allah, Hard is
42: 13 the (way) To which thou callest them. Allah chooses to Himself
42: 13 Those whom He pleases, And guides to Himself Those who
42: 13 turn (to Him).
42: 15 Now then, for that (reason). Call (them to the faith), And stand
42: 15 steadfast As thou art commanded, Nor follow thou their vain
42: 15 Desires but say:' I believe In the Book which Allah has sent down;
42: 15 And I am commanded To judge justly between you. Allah is our
42: 15 Lord And your Lord. For us (Is the responsibility for ) Our deeds,
42: 15 and for you For your deeds. There is No contention between us
42: 15 And you. Allah will Bring us together, And to Him is (Our)
42: 15 final goal.
42: 20 To any that desires The tilth of the Hereafter , We give increase
42: 20 In his tilth; and to any That desires the tilth Of this world, We
42: 20 grant Somewhat thereof, but he Has no share or lot In the
42: 20 Hereafter.
42: 23 That is (the Bounty) whereof Allah Gives Glad Tidings To His
42: 23 Servants who Believe and do righteous deeds. Say:"No reward do I
42: 23 Ask of you for this Except the love Of those near of kin." And if
42: 23 anyone earns Any good, We shall give Him an increase of good
42: 23 In respect thereof : for Allah Is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready
42: 23 To appreciate (service ).
42: 26 And He listens to Those who believe and Do deeds of righteousness,
42: 26 And gives them increase Of His Bounty: but For the Unbelievers
42: 26 there is A terrible Penalty.
42: 35 But let those know, who Dispute about Our Signs, That there is for
42: 35 them No way of escape.
42: 36 Whatever ye are given (here) Is (but) a convenience Of this Life:
42: 36 but that which is with Allah Is better and more lasting:
42: 36 (It is ) for those who believe And put their trust In their Lord;
42: 40 The recompense for an injury Is an injury equal thereto
42: 40 (In degree): but if a person Forgives and makes reconciliation,
42: 40 His reward is due From Allah: for (Allah) Loveth not those who
42: 40 Do wrong.
42: 41 But indeed if any do help And defend themselves After a wrong
42: 41 (done) To them, against such There is no cause Of blame.
42: 42 The blame is only Against those who oppress Men with wrong-doing
42: 42 And insolently transgress Beyond bounds through the land,
42: 42 Defying right and justice : For such there will be A Penalty
42: 42 grievous
42: 44 For any whom Allah Leaves astray, there is No protector thereafter
42: 44 And thou wilt see The wrong-doers,when In sight of the Penalty,
42: 44 Say:"Is there any way (To effect) a return?"
42: 46 And no protectors have they To help them, Other than Allah:
42: 46 And for any whom Allah Leaves to stray, there is No way
42: 46 (to the Goal).
42: 47 Hearken ye to your Lord, Before there come a Day Which there
42: 47 will be No putting back, because Of (the ordainment of) Allah!
42: 47 That Day there will be For you no place of refuge Nor will there
42: 47 be for you Any room for denial (Of your sins)!
42: 48 If then they turn away, We have not sent thee As a guard over them.
42: 48 Thy duty is but to convey (The Message). And truly, When We give
42: 48 man A taste of Mercy From Ourselves, he doth Exult thereat, but
42: 48 When some ill happens To him, on account Of the deeds which
42: 48 His hands have sent forth, Truly then is man ungrateful!
42: 52 And thus have We, By Our command, sent Inspiration to thee:
42: 52 Thou knowest not (before) What was Revelation and What was Faith:
42: 52 but We Have made the (Qur-an) A Light, wherewith We Guide such of
42: 52 Our servants As We will; and verily Thou dost guide (men) To the
42: 52 Straight Way,-
43: 7 And never came there A prophet to them But they mocked him.
43: 10 (Yea, the same that) Has made for you The earth(like a carpet)
43: 10 Spread out, and has made For you roads (and channels) Therein,
43: 10 in order that ye May find guidance (on the way);
43: 11 That sends down (From time to time ) Rain from the sky In due
43: 11 measure;- And We raise to life Therewith a land that is Dead;
43: 11 even so will ye Be raised (from the dead);-
43: 35 And also adornments Of Gold, But all this Were nothing but
43: 35 conveniences Of the present life: The Hereafter, in the sight Of
43: 35 thy Lord, is For the Righteous.
43: 35 SECTION 4.
43: 57 When (Jesus) the son Of Mary is held up As an example, behold, Thy
43: 57 people raise a clamour Thereat (in ridicule)!
43: 61 And (Jesus) shall be A Sign (for the coming Of) the Hour
43: 61 (of Judgment): Therefore have no doubt About the (Hour),
43: 61 but Follow ye Me: this Is a Straight Way.
43: 63 When Jesus came With Clear Signs, he said:"Now have I come To
43: 63 you with Wisdom, And in order to make Clear to you some Of the
43: 63 (points) on which Ye dispute: therefore fear Allah And obey me.
43: 71 To them will be passed Round, dishes and goblets Of gold: there
43: 71 will be There all that the souls Could desire, all that The eyes
43: 71 could delight in: And ye shall abide Therein (for aye).
43: 73 Ye shall have therein Abundance of fruit, from which Ye shall
43: 73 have satisfaction.
43: 74 The Sinners will be In the Punishment of Hell, To dwell therein
43: 74 (for aye):
43: 75 Nowise will the (punishment ) Be lightend for them, And in despair
43: 75 will they Be there overwhelmed.
44: 8 There is no god but He: It is He Who gives life And gives death,-
44: 8 The Lord and Cherisher To you and your earliest Ancestors.
44: 17 We did before them, Try the people of Paraoh: There came to them
44: 17 An apostle most honourable .
44: 27 And wealth (and conveniences Of life), wherein they Had taken such
44: 27 delight!
44: 33 And granted them Signs In which there was A manifest trial.
44: 35 "There is nothing beyond Our first death, And we shall not Be
44: 35 raised again.
44: 55 There can they call For every kind of fruit In peace and security;
44: 56 Nor will they there Taste Death, except the first Death: and He
44: 56 will preserve Them from the Penalty Of the Blazing Fire,-
45: 5 And in the alternation Of Night and Day, And the fact that Allah
45: 5 Sends down Sustenance from The sky, and revives therewith The
45: 5 earth after its death, And the change Of the winds,-are Signs For
45: 5 those that are wise.
45: 9 And when he learns Something of Our Signs, He takes them in jest:
45: 9 For such there will be A humiliating Penalty.
45: 24 And they say:" What is There but our life In this world? We shall
45: 24 die and we Live, And nothing but Time Can destroy us." But Of
45: 24 that they have no Knowledge; they merely conjecture:
45: 26 Say:"It is Allah Who Gives you life, then Gives you death; then
45: 26 He will gather you together For the Day of Judgment About which
45: 26 there is No doubt": but most Men do not understand.
45: 26 SECTION 4.
45: 32 "And when it was said That the promise of Allah Was true, and that
45: 32 the Hour- There was no doubt About its (coming), ye Used to
45: 32 say, We Know not what is The Hour: we only think It is an idea,
45: 32 and we Have no firm assurance.'"
45: 35 "This, because ye used To take the Signs of Allah In jest, and
45: 35 the life Of the world deceived you;" (From) the Day, therefore,
45: 35 They shall not be taken out Thence, nor shall they be
45: 35 Received into Grace.
46: 3 We created not The heavens and the earth And all between them
46: 3 But for just ends, and For a term appointed: But those who
46: 3 reject Faith Turn away from that Whereof they are warned.
46: 6 And when mankind Are gathered together (At the Resurrection),
46: 6 They will be hostile To them and reject Their worship
46: 6 (altogether )!
46: 8 Or do they say,"He has forged it"? Say:"Had I forged it, Then
46: 8 can ye obtain No single (blessing) for me From Allah. He knows
46: 8 best Of that whereof ye talk (So glibly)! Enough is He For a
46: 8 witness between me And you! and He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
46: 11 The Unbelievers say Of those who believe: "If (this Message)
46: 11 were A good thing, (such men) Would not have gone To it first,
46: 11 before us!" And seeing that they Guide not themselves thereby,
46: 11 They will say,"This is An (old), old falsehood!"
46: 14 Such shall be Companions Of the Garden, dwelling Therein
46: 14 (for aye): a recompense For their (good) deeds.
46: 17 But (there is one) Who says to his parents ,"Fie on you! Do ye
46: 17 Hold out the promise To me that I Shall be raised up, Even though
46: 17 generations Have passed before me (Without rising again)?'
46: 17 And they two seek Allah's aid,(and rebuke The son):'Woe to thee!
46: 17 Have Faith! For the promise Of Allah is true ." But he says," This
46: 17 is Nothing but tales Of the ancients!"
46: 21 Mention (Hud) One of Ad's (own) brethren: About the winding Sand-
46: 21 tracts: Behold, he warned his people But there have been Warners
46: 21 Before him and after him: "Worship ye none other Than Allah:
46: 21 truly I fear For you the Penalty Of a Mighty Day."
46: 24 Then, when they saw The (Penalty in the shape of) A cloud
46: 24 traversing the sky, Coming to meet their valleys, They said,"
46: 24 This cloud Will give us rain!" Nay, it is the (calamity) Ye were
46: 24 asking to be Hastened !-a wind Wherein is a Grievous Penalty!
46: 29 Behold, We turned Towards thee a company Of Jinns (quietly)
46: 29 listening To the Qur-an : when they Stood in the presence Thereof,
46: 29 They said:'Listen In silence!" When the (reading ) Was finished,
46: 29 they returned To their people, to warn (Them of their sins).
46: 35 Therefore patiently persevere As did (all) apostles Of inflexible
46: 35 purpose; And be in no haste About the (Unbelievers). On the Day
46: 35 That they see the (Punishment) Promised them (it will be) As if
46: 35 they had not Tarried more than an hour In a single day.(Thine But)
46: 35 to proclaim the Message: But shall any be destroyed Except those
46: 35 who transgress?
47: 4 Therefore, when ye meet The Unbelievers (in fight), Smite at
47: 4 their necks; At length ,when ye have Thoroughly subdued them Bind
47: 4 a bond Firmly (on them): thereafter (Is the time for) either
47: 4 Generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down Its burdens .
47: 4 Thus (are ye Commanded): but if it Had been Allah's Will, He
47: 4 could certainly have exacted Retribution from them (Himself);
47: 4 But (He lets you fight ) In order to test you, Some with others.
47: 4 But those who are slain In the way of Allah,- He will never
47: 4 let Their deeds be lost.
47: 13 And how many cities, With more power than Thy city which has
47: 13 Driven thee out, Have We destroyed (For their sins)? And there
47: 13 was none To aid them.
47: 15 (Here is) a Parable Of the Garden which The righteous are promised:
47: 15 In it are rivers Of water incorruptible; Rivers of milk Of which
47: 15 the taste Never changes; rivers Of wine a joy To those who drink
47: 15 And rivers of honey Pure and clear. In it There are for them All
47: 15 kinds of fruits, And Grace from their Lord. (Can those in such
47: 15 Bliss) Be compared to such as Shall dwell for ever In the Fire,
47: 15 and be given, To drink ,boiling water, So that it cuts up Their
47: 15 bowels (to pieces)?
47: 18 Do they then only wait For the Hour,-that it Should come on them
47: 18 Of a sudden? But already Have come some tokens Thereof ,and when
47: 18 it (Actually) is on them, How can they benefit Then by their
47: 18 admonition?
47: 19 Know, therefore that There is no god But Allah, and ask Forgiveness
47: 19 for the fault, And for the men And women who believe: For Allah
47: 19 knows how ye Move about and how Ye dwell in your homes.
47: 19 SECTION 3.
48: 5 That He may admit The men and women Who believe, to Gardens
48: 5 Beneath which rivers flow To dwell therein for aye, And
48: 5 remove their ills From them; and that is In the sight of Allah,
48: 5 The highest achievement (For man),-
48: 17 No blame is there On the blind, nor is There blame on the lame Nor
48: 17 on one ill (if he Joins not the war): But he that obeys Allah And
48: 17 His Apostle, -(Allah) Will admit him to Gardens Beneath which
48: 17 rivers flow; And he who turns back,(Allah) will punish him With
48: 17 a grievous Penalty.
48: 17 SECTION 3.
48: 21 And other gains (there are) Which are not within Your power but
48: 21 which Allah has compassed: and Allah Has power over all things.
48: 25 They are the ones who Denied revelation and hindered you From
48: 25 the Sacred Mosque And the sacrificial animals Detained from
48: 25 reaching their Place of sacrifice. Had there Not been believing men
48: 25 And believing women whom Ye did not know that Ye were trampling
48: 25 down And on whose account A crime would have accrued To you
48: 25 without (your) knowledge. (Allah would have allowed you To force
48: 25 your way, but He held back your hands) That He may admit To His
48: 25 Mercy whom He will. If they had been Apart, We should Certainly
48: 25 have punished The Unbelievers among them With a grievous punishment
50: 2 But they wonder that There has come to them A Warner from among
50: 2 Themselves. So the Unbelievers say: "This is a wonderful thing!
50: 6 Do they not look At the sky above them?- How We have made it And
50: 6 adorned it, And there are no Flaws in it?
50: 7 And the earth- We have spread it out And set thereon mountains
50: 7 Standing firm, and produced Therein every kind of Beautiful growth
50: 7 (in pairs)-
50: 9 And We send down From the sky Rain Charged with blessing, And
50: 9 We produce therewith Gardens and Grain for harvests;
50: 11 As sustenance for (Allah's) Servants;- And We give (new) life
50: 11 Therewith to land that is Dead: thus will be The Resurrection.
50: 12 Before them was denied (The Hereafter) by the People Of Noah, the
50: 12 Companions Of the Rass, the Thamud,
50: 18 Not a word does he Utter but there is A sentinel by him, Ready
50: 18 (to note it).
50: 20 And the Trumpet Shall be blown: That will be the Day Whereof
50: 20 Warning(had been given).
50: 21 And there will come forth Every soul: with each Will be an
50: 21 (angel) to drive, And an (angel) to Bear witness.
50: 23 And his Companion will say:" Here is (his Record) ready With me!"
50: 30 One Day We will Ask Hell, "Art thou Filled to the full?" It will
50: 30 say, "Are there Any more (to come)?"
50: 35 There will be for them Therein all that they wish,- And more
50: 35 besides In Our Presence.
50: 36 But how many Generations before them Did We destroy (for their
50: 36 Sins),- stronger in power Than they? Then did they Wander through
50: 36 the land: Was there any place Of escape (for them)?
51: 35 Then We evacuated Those of the Believers Who were there,
51: 36 But We found not there Any just (Muslim) persons Except in one
51: 36 house:
51: 37 And We left there A Sign for such as Fear the Grievous Penalty.
52: 8 There is none Can avert it;-
52: 16 'Burn ye therein: The same is it to you Whether ye bear it With
52: 16 patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense Of your (own)
52: 16 deeds."
52: 23 They shall there exchang One with another, A (loving) cup Free of
52: 23 frivolity, Free of all taint Of ill.
52: 29 Therefore proclaim thou The praises (of thy Lord): For by
52: 29 the Grace Of thy Lord, thou art No (vulgar) soothsayer, nor Art
52: 29 thou one possessed.
52: 44 Were they to see A piece of the sky Falling (on them), they Would
52: 44 (only) say: "Clouds Gathered in heaps!"
52: 45 So leave them alone Until they encounter That Day of theirs,
52: 45 Wherein they shall (perforce) Swoon (with terror),-
52: 47 And verily, for those Who do wrong, there is Another punishment
52: 47 besides this; But most of them Understand not.
53: 23 These are nothing but names Which ye have devised,- Ye and your
53: 23 fathers,- For which Allah has sent Down no authority
53: 23 (whatever). They follow nothing but Conjecture and what Their own
53: 23 souls desire !- Even though there has already Come to them Guidance
53: 23 From their Lord!
53: 27 Those who believe not In the Hereafter, name The angels with
53: 27 female names.
53: 28 But they. have no knowledge Therein . They follow nothing But
53: 28 conjecture; and conjecture Avails nothing against Truth.
53: 29 Therefore shun those who Turn away from Our Message And desire
53: 29 nothing but The life of this world.
53: 32 Those who avoid Great sins and shameful deeds, Only (falling
53: 32 into) small faults,- Verily thy Lord is ample In forgiveness.
53: 32 He knows You well when He brings You out of the earth, And when ye
53: 32 are hidden In your mother's wombs, Therefore justify not yourselves
53: 32 He knows best who it is That guards against evil.
53: 32 SECTION 3.
54: 4 There have already come To them Recitals wherein There is
54: 4 (enough ) to check (them),
54: 6 Therefore, (O Prophet,) Turn away from them. The Day that the
54: 6 Caller Will call (them) To a terrible affair,
54: 9 Before them the People Of Noah rejected (their apostle): They
54: 9 rejected Our servant, And said," Here is One possessed!"' and he
54: 9 Was driven out .
54: 15 And We have left This as a Sign (For all time): then Is there
54: 15 any that will Receive admonition ?
54: 17 And We have indeed Made the Qur-an easy To understand and
54: 17 remember: Then is there any that Will receive admonition?
54: 22 But We have indeed Made the Qur-an easy To understand and
54: 22 remember : Then is there any that Will receive admonition ?
54: 22 SECTION 2.
54: 32 And We have indeed Made the Qur-an easy To understand and remember:
54: 32 Then is there any that Will receive admonition?
54: 40 And We have indeed Made the Qur-an easy To understand and
54: 40 remember: Then is there any that Will receive admonition?
54: 40 SECTION 3.
54: 51 And (oft) in the past, Have We destroyed gangs Like unto you:
54: 51 then Is there any that Will receive admonition?
55: 11 Therein is fruit And date-palms , producing Spathes (enclosing
55: 11 dates);
55: 46 But for such as fear The time when they will Standbefore
55: 46 (the Judgment Seat Of) their Lord, There will be two Gardens-
55: 60 Is there any Reward For Good- other than Good?
55: 62 And besides these two, There are two other Gardens,-
56: 8 Then (there will be) The Companions of The Right Hand; What will
56: 8 be The Companions of The Right Hand?
56: 10 And those Foremost (In Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter).
56: 19 No after -ache will they Receive therefrom, nor will they
56: 19 Suffer intoxication :
56: 22 And (there will be) Companions With beautiful, big And lustrous
56: 22 eyes,-
56: 25 No frivolity will they Hear therein, nor any Taint of ill,-
56: 44 Nothing (will there be) To refresh, nor to please:
56: 50 "All will certainly be Gathered together for the meeting Appointed
56: 50 for a Day Well-known.
56: 53 "Then will ye fill Your insides therewith,
56: 89 (There is for him) Rest And Satisfaction, and A Garden of Delights.
57: 4 He it is Who created The heavens and the earth In six Days, and
57: 4 is moreover Firmly established on the Throne (Of authority). He
57: 4 knows What enters within the earth And what comes forth out Of
57: 4 it ,what comes down From heaven and what mounts Up to it, And
57: 4 He is With you wheresoever ye May be. And Allah sees Well all that
57: 4 ye do.
57: 7 Believe in Allah And His Apostle, And spend (in charity) Out of
57: 7 the (substance) Whereof He has made you Heirs. For, those of you
57: 7 Who believe and spend (In charity),- for them Is a great Reward.
57: 12 One Day shalt thou see The believing men and The believing
57: 12 women- How their Light runs Forward before them And by their right
57: 12 hands: (Their greeting will be ): "Good News for you this Day!
57: 12 Gardens beneath which flow rivers! To dwell therein for aye! This
57: 12 is indeed The highest Achievement!"
57: 13 One Day, will the Hypocrites- Men and women -say To the Believers:"
57: 13 Wait For us ! Let us borrow (A light) from your Light !" It will
57: 13 be said: "Turn Ye back to your rear! Then seek a light (where Ye
57: 13 can)!" So a wall Will be put up betwixt them, With a gate therein.
57: 13 Within it will be Mercy Throughout, and without it, All alongside,
57: 13 will be (Wrath and) Punishment!
57: 14 (Those without) will call out, "Were we not with you?" (The
57: 14 others) will reply,"True ! But ye led yourselves Intotemptation;
57: 14 ye looked forward (To our ruin); ye doubted (Allah's Promise);
57: 14 and(your false) Desires deceived you; until There issued the
57: 14 Command Of Allah. And the Deceiver Deceived you in respect of
57: 14 Allah.
57: 20 Know ye (all) that The life of this world Is but play and
57: 20 amusement, Pomp and mutual boasting And multiplying , (in rivalry)
57: 20 Among yourselves riches And children : Here is a similitude:
57: 20 How rain and the growth Which it brings forth, delight (The hearts
57: 20 of) the tillers; Soon it withers; thou Wilt see it grow yellow;
57: 20 Then it becomes dry And crumbles away. But in the Hereafter
57: 20 Is a Penalty severe (For the devotees of wrong), And Forgiveness
57: 20 from Allah And (His) Good Pleasure (For the devotees of Allah).
57: 20 And what is the life Of this world, but Goods and chattels Of
57: 20 deception?
57: 21 Be ye foremost (in seeking) Forgiveness from your Lord, And a
57: 21 Garden (of Bliss), The width whereof is As the width of Heaven
57: 21 and earth, Prepared for those who believe In Allah and His
57: 21 apostles: That is the Grace of Allah, Which He bestows on whom He
57: 21 pleases: and Allah is The Lord of Grace abounding.
58: 4 And if any has not (The wherewithal). He should fast for Two
58: 4 months consecutively Before they touch each other. But if any is
58: 4 unable To do so, he should feed Sixty indigent ones. This, that ye
58: 4 may show Your faith in Allah And His Apostle. Those are limits
58: 4 (set By) Allah. For those who Reject (Him), there is A grievous
58: 4 Penalty.
58: 7 Seest thou not that Allah doth know (all) that is In the
58: 7 heavens and On earth? There is not A secret consultation
58: 7 Between three, but He Makes the fourth among them, -Nor between
58: 7 five but He makes the sixth ,- Nor between fewer nor more,
58: 7 But He is in their midst Where soever they be : In the end will He
58: 7 Tell them the truth Of their conduct, on the Day Of Judgment For
58: 7 Allah Has full knowledge Of all things.
58: 12 O ye who believe! When ye consult The Apostle in private, Spend
58: 12 something in charity Before your private consultation. That will
58: 12 be best for you, And most conducive To purity (of conduct). But
58: 12 if ye find not (The where withal) Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most
58: 12 Merciful.
58: 16 They have made their oaths A screen (for their misdeeds):
58: 16 Thus they obstruct (men) From the path of Allah: Therefore shall
58: 16 they have A humiliating Penalty.
58: 17 Of no profit whatever To them, against Allah, Will be their
58: 17 riches Nor their sons: They will be Companions Of the Fire,
58: 17 to dwell Therein (for aye)!
58: 22 Thou wilt not find Any people who believe In Allah and the Last
58: 22 Day, Loving those who resist Allah and His Apostle Even though they
58: 22 were Their fathers or their sons, Or thier brothers, or Their
58: 22 kindred. For such He has written Faith In their hearts and
58: 22 strengthened Them With a spirit From Himself. And He Will admit
58: 22 them to Gardens Beneath which Rivers flow, To dwell therein (for
58: 22 ever). Allah will be well pleased With them, and they With Him They
58: 22 are the Party Of Allah. Truly it is The Party of Allah that Will
58: 22 achieve Felicity.
59: 3 And had it not been That Allah had decreed Banishment for them,
59: 3 He would certainly have Punished them in this world: And in the
59: 3 Hereafter They shall (certainly) have The Punishment of the Fire.
59: 15 Like those who lately Preceded them, they have Tasted the evil
59: 15 result Of their conduct, and (In the Hereafter there is)
59: 15 For them a grievous Penalty;-
59: 17 The end of both will be That they will go Into the Fire dwelling
59: 17 Therein for ever: Such is the reward Of wrong-doers.
59: 17 SECTION 3.
59: 22 Allah is He, than Whom There is no other god;- Who knows (all-
59: 22 things) Both secret and open; He Most Gracious Most Merciful.
59: 23 Allah is He, than whom There is no other god;- The Sovereign, the
59: 23 Holy One, The Source of Peace (and Perfection) The Guardian of
59: 23 Faith, The Preserver of Safety, The Exalted in Might, The
59: 23 Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory to Allah! (High is He) Above the
59: 23 partners They attribute to Him.
60: 4 There is for you An excellent example (to follow) In Abraham and
60: 4 those with him, When they said To their people : "we are clear of
60: 4 you And of whatever ye worship Besides Allah: we have rejected
60: 4 You, and there has arisen Between us and you, enmity And
60: 4 hatred for ever,- unless Ye believe in Allah And Him alone": But
60: 4 not when Abraham Said to his father: "I will pray for
60: 4 forgiveness For thee, though I have No power (to get) aught On
60: 4 thy behalf from Allah." (They prayed): "Our Lord! In Thee do
60: 4 we trust And to Thee do we turn In repentance to Thee Is (our)
60: 4 final Goal.
60: 6 There was indeed in them An excellent example for you To follow,-
60: 6 for those Whose hope is in Allah And in the Last Day. But if
60: 6 any turn away, Truly Allah is Free of all Wants, Worthy of all
60: 6 Praise.
60: 6 SECTION 2.
60: 10 O ye who believe ! When there come to you Believing women refugees,
60: 10 Examine (and test) them : Allah knows best as to Their Faith:
60: 10 if ye ascertain That they are Believers, Then send them not back
60: 10 To the Unbelievers. They are not lawful (wives) For the
60: 10 Unbelievers, nor are The (Unbelievers) lawful (husbands) For them
60: 10 But pay The Unbelievers what they Have spent( on their dower). And
60: 10 there will be no blame On you if ye marry them On payment of
60: 10 their dower To them. But hold not To the guardianship of
60: 10 Unbelieving women: ask For what ye have spent On their dowers,
60: 10 and let The (Unbelievers) ask for What they have spent (On the
60: 10 dowers of women Who come over to you). Such is the command Of
60: 10 Allah: He judges (With justice) between you: And Allah is Full of
60: 10 Knowledge and Wisdom.
60: 13 O ye who believe! Turn not (for friendship) To people on whom
60: 13 Is the Wrath of Allah. Of the Hereafter they are Already in
60: 13 despair, just as The Unbelievers are In despair about those
60: 13 (Buried) in graves.
63: 3 That is because they believed Then they rejected Faith: So a seal
63: 3 was set On their hearts : therefore They understand not.
63: 8 They say, "If we Return to Medina, surely The more honourable
63: 8 (element) Will expel there from the meaner," But honour belongs
63: 8 to Allah And His Apostle, and To the Believers; but The Hypocrites
63: 8 know not.
63: 8 SECTION 2.
64: 6 That was because there Came to them apostles With Clear Signs But
64: 6 they said: "Shall (mere) human beings Direct us ?" So they rejected
64: 6 (The Message) and turned away. But Allah can do without (them):
64: 6 And Allah is Free of all needs Worthy of all praise.
64: 8 Believe, therefore, in Allah And His Apostle, and In the Light
64: 8 which We Have sent down. And Allah Is well acquainted With
64: 8 all that ye do.
64: 9 The Day that He assembles You (all) for a Day Of Assembly,-
64: 9 that will be A day of mutual loss And gain (among you). And those
64: 9 who believe In Allah and work righteousness,- He will remove
64: 9 from them Their ills, and He will admit Them to gardens
64: 9 beneath which Rivers flow to dwell therein For ever: that will
64: 9 be The Supreme Achievement!
64: 10 But those who reject Faith And treat Our Signs As falsehoods, they
64: 10 will be Companions of the Fire, To dwell therein for aye: And evil
64: 10 is that Goal.
64: 10 SECTION 2.
64: 13 Allah! There is no god But He: and on Allah, Therefore, let
64: 13 the Believers Put their trust.
65: 1 O Prophet ! When ye Do divorce women, Divorce them at their
65: 1 Prescribed periods, And count (accurately) Their prescribed
65: 1 periods: And fear Allah your Lord: And turn them not out Of
65: 1 their houses, nor shall They (themselves) leave, Except in case
65: 1 they are Guilty of some open lewdness. Those are limits Set by
65: 1 Allah : and any Who transgresses the limits Of Allah, does verily
65: 1 Wrong his (own) soul: Thou knowest not if Perchance Allah will
65: 1 Bring about thereafter Some new situation.
65: 10 Allah has prepared for them A severe Punishment (In the Hereafter).
65: 10 Therefore fear Allah, O ye men of understanding - Who have
65: 10 believed ! For Allah hath indeed Sent down to you A Message,-
65: 11 An Apostle, who rehearses To you the Signs of Allah Containing
65: 11 clear explanations, That he may lead forth Those who believe And do
65: 11 righteous deeds From the depths of Darkness Into Light. And those
65: 11 who Believe in Allah and work Righteousness, He will admit To
65: 11 Gardens beneath which rivers Flow, to dwell therein For ever:
65: 11 Allah has indeed Granted for them A most excellent provision.
66: 3 When the Prophet disclosed A matter in confidence To one of his
66: 3 consorts, And she then divulged it (To another), and Allah made it
66: 3 Known to him, he confirmed Part thereof and repudiated A part. Then
66: 3 when he Told her thereof, she said, "Who told thee this?" He said,"
66: 3 He told me Who knows and is well-acquainted (With all things)."
67: 7 When they are cast therein, They will hear The (terrible)
67: 7 drawing in Of its breath Even as it blazes forth,
67: 8 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group Is cast therein its
67: 8 Keepers Will ask, "Did no Warner Come to you?'
67: 20 Nay, who is there That can help you, (Even as) an army, Besides
67: 20 (Allah) Most Merciful? In nothing but delusion Are the Unbelievers.
67: 21 Or who is there That can provide you With sustenance if He
67: 21 Were to withhold His provision? Nay, they obstinately persist
67: 21 In insolent impiety And flight (from the Truth).
67: 24 Say: "It is He Who Has multiplied you Through the earth And to
67: 24 Him shall ye Be gathered together."
68: 19 So there came, On the (garden) A visitation from thy Lord,
68: 19 (Which swept away) all around, While they were asleep.
68: 20 So the (garden) became, By the morning, like A dark and desolate
68: 20 spot, (Whose fruit had been gathered)
68: 33 Such is the Punishment (In this life), but greater Is the
68: 33 Punishment In the Hereafter,- If only they knew!
68: 33 SECTION 2.
69: 19 Then he that will be Given his Record In his right hand Will say:"
69: 19 "Ah here! Read ye my Record!
69: 23 The Fruits whereof (Will hang in bunches) Low and near.
69: 32 "Further, make him march In a chain, whereof The length is
69: 32 seventy cubits!
69: 35 "So no friend hath he Here this Day,
69: 49 And We certainly know That there are amongst you Those that
69: 49 reject (it).
70: 2 The Unbelievers The which there is none To ward off,-
70: 4 The angels and The Spirit ascend Unto Him in a Day The measure
70: 4 where of Is (as) fifty thousand years:
70: 5 Therefore do thou hold Patience,- a Patience Of beautiful
70: 5 (contentment )
70: 43 The Day whereon They will issue From their sepulchres In sudden
70: 43 haste As if they were Bushing to a goal-post (Fixed for them),-
71: 1 We sent Noah To his People (With the Command): "Do thou warn
71: 1 thy People Before there comes to them A grievous Penalty."
71: 20 "That ye may go about Therein in spacious roads.'"
71: 20 SECTION 2.
72: 2 It gives guidance To the Right And we have believed therein: We
72: 2 shall not join (in worship ) Any (gods) with our Lord .
72: 4 There were some foolish ones Among us who used To utter
72: 4 extravagant lies Against Allah;
72: 6 True there were persons Among mankind who took shelter With
72: 6 persons among the Jinns But they increased them In folly.
72: 9 We used indeed to sit there In (hidden) stations to (steal) A
72: 9 hearing; but any Who listens now Will find a flaming fire Watching
72: 9 him in ambush.
72: 11 There are among us Some that are righteous And some the contrary:
72: 11 We follow divergent paths.
72: 23 "Unless I proclaim what I received from Allah And His Messages:
72: 23 For any that disobey Allah And His Apostle,- for them Is Hell:
72: 23 they shall dwell Therein for ever."
73: 7 True there is for thee By day prolonged occupation With ordinary
73: 7 duties:
73: 9 (He is) Lord of the East And the West: there is No god but He:
73: 9 Take Him therefore For (thy ) Disposer of Affairs.
73: 18 Whereon the sky will be Cleft asunder? His Promise needs must Be
73: 18 accomplished.
73: 19 Verily this is an Admonition: Therefore, whoso will, let him
73: 19 Take a (straight) path To his Lord!
73: 19 SECTION 2.
73: 20 The Lord doth know That thou standest forth To (prayer) nigh
73: 20 two-thirds Of the night, or half The night or a third Of the
73: 20 night, and so doth A party of those with thee But Allah doth
73: 20 appoint Night And Day in due measure. He knoweth that ye are
73: 20 Unable to keep count thereof. So He hath turned to you (In mercy):
73: 20 read ye Therefore, of the Qur-an As much as may be Easy for you.
73: 20 He knoweth That there may be (some) Among you in ill-health;
73: 20 Others travelling through the land Seeking of Allah's bounty;
73: 20 Yet others fighting In Allah's Cause. Read ye, Therefore as
73: 20 much of the Qur-an As may be easy (for you): And establish
73: 20 regular Prayer And give regular Charity ; And loan to Allah A
73: 20 Beautiful Loan. And whatever good Ye send forth For your souls, Ye
73: 20 shall find it In Allah's Presence, Yea better and Greater, in
73: 20 Reward. And seek ye the Grace of Allah: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving.
73: 20 Most Merciful.
74: 47 "Until there came to us (The Hour ) that is Certain."
74: 53 By no means! But They fear not the Hereafter.
75: 10 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?"
75: 16 Move not thy tongue Concerning the (Qur-an) To make haste therewith
75: 21 And leave alone The Hereafter.
75: 27 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (To restore him)?'
76: 1 Has there not been Over Man a long period Of Time when he was
76: 1 Nothing- (not even) mentioned?
76: 6 A Fountain where The Devotees of Allah Do drink , making it Flow
76: 6 in unstinted abundance.
76: 13 Reclining in the (Garden) On raised thrones They will see there
76: 13 neither The sun's (excessive heat) Nor (the moon's) excessive cold,
76: 14 And the shades of the (Garden) Will come low over them And the
76: 14 bunches (of fruit), There will hang low In humility.
76: 16 Crystal-clear made of silver: They will determine The measure
76: 16 thereof (According to their wishes).
76: 17 And they will be given To drink there of a Cup (Of Wine) mixed
76: 17 With Zanjabil,-
76: 18 A fountain there Called Salsabil.
76: 20 And when thou lookest It is there thou wilt see A Bliss and A
76: 20 Realm Magnificent.
76: 24 Therefore be patient With constancy to the command Of thy Lord,
76: 24 and hearken not To the sinner or the ingrate Among them.
77: 27 And made therein Mountains standing firm, Lofty (in stature); And
77: 27 provided for you Water sweet (and wholesome )?
77: 33 "As if there were (A string of ) yellow camels (Marching swiftly)."
78: 13 And placed (therein) A Light of Splendour?
78: 15 That We may produce Therewith corn and vegetables,
78: 19 And the heavens Shall be opened As if there were doors,
78: 23 They will dwell therein For ages.
78: 24 Nothing cool shall they taste Therein, nor any drink,
78: 31 Verily for the Righteous There will be A fulfilment of (The
78: 31 Heart's) desires;
