2: 19 Or (another similitude) Is that of rain-laden cloud From the sky:
2: 19 in it are zones Of darkness, and thunder and lightning: They press
2: 19 their fingers in their ears To keep out the stunning thunder-clap,
2: 19 The while they are in terror of death. But Allah is ever round the
2: 19 rejecters of Faith !
3: 56 "As to those who reject Faith, I will punish them With terrible
3: 56 agony In this world and in the Hereafter Nor will they have
3: 56 Anyone to help.
3:125 "Yea,"- if ye remain firm, And act aright, even if The enemy
3:125 should rush here On you in hot haste, Your Lord would help you
3:125 With five thousand angels Making a terrific onslaught."
3:151 Soon shall We cast terror Into the hearts of the Unbelievers, For
3:151 that they joined companions With Allah, for which He had sent No
3:151 authority: their abode Will be the Fire: and evil Is the
3:151 home of the wrong-doers!
6: 63 Say: "Who is it That delivereth you From the dark recesses Of land
6: 63 and sea, When ye call upon Him In meekness And silent terror: 'If
6: 63 He only delivers us From these (dangers), (We vow) or shall truly
6: 63 Show our gratitude?"
7:116 Said Moses: "Throw ye (first)." So when they threw, They bewitched
7:116 the eyes Of the people, and struck Terror into them: for they
7:116 Showed a great (feat of) magic.
7:164 When some of them said: "Why do ye preach To a people whom Allah
7:164 Will destroy or visit With a terriblepunishment?" - Said the
7:164 preachers: "To discharg Our duty to your Lord And perchance they
7:164 may fear Him."
8: 12 Remember thy Lord inspired The angels (with the message): "I am
8: 12 with you: give Firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror Into
8: 12 the hearts of the Unbelievers: Smite ye above their necks And smite
8: 12 all their Finger-tips off them."
8: 60 Against them make ready Your strength to the utmost Of your power,
8: 60 including Steeds of war, to strike terror Into (the hearts of) the
8: 60 enemies, Of Allah and your enemies, And others besides, whom ye may
8: 60 not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever Ye shall spend in the
8: 60 Cause Of Allah, shall be repaid Unto you, and ye shall not Be
8: 60 treated unjustly.
13: 18 For those who respond To their Lord, are (all) Good things. But
13: 18 those Who respond not to Him, Even if they had all That is in
13: 18 the heavens And on earth , and as much more, (In vain) would they
13: 18 offer it For ransom. For them Will the reckoning be terrible:
13: 18 Their abode will be Hell,-What a bed of misery!
13: 18 SECTION 3.
13: 21 Those who join together Those things which Allah Hath commanded
13: 21 to be joined, Hold their Lord in awe, And fear the terrible
13: 21 reckoning;
13: 25 But those who break The Covenant of Allah, after Having plighted
13: 25 their word there to And cut asunder those things Which Allah has
13: 25 Commanded To be joined, and work mischief In the land;- on them
13: 25 Is the curse; for them Is the terrible Home!
13: 32 Mocked were (many) apostles Before thee: but I granted respite to
13: 32 the Unbelievers, And finally I punished them: Then how (terribe)
13: 32 was My (requital!
14: 2 Of Allah, to Whom do belong All things in the heavens And on
14: 2 earth! But alas for the Unbelievers For a terrible penalty
14: 2 (Their Unfaith will bring them)!-
14: 7 And remenber! your Lord Caused to be declared (publicly):" If ye
14: 7 are grateful, I will Add more (favours) unto you; But if ye show
14: 7 ingratitude,Truly My punishment Is terrible indeed."
16:112 Allah sets forth a Parable: A city enjoying security And quiet,
16:112 abundantly supplied With sustenance from every place; Yet was
16:112 it ungrateful For the favours of Allah: So Allah made it taste Of
16:112 hunger and terror (in extremes), (Closing in on it )like a garment
16:112 (From every side), because Of the (evil )which (Its people )
16:112 wrought.
17: 5 When the first of the warnings Came to pass, We sent Against
17: 5 you Our servants Given to terrible warfare: They entered the
17: 5 very inmost Parts of your homes; And it was a warning (Completely)
17: 5 fulfilled.
17: 59 And We refrain from sending The Signs, only because The men of
17: 59 former generations Treated them as false: We sent the She-camel:
17: 59 To the Thamud to open Their eyes , but they Treated her wrongfully:
17: 59 We only end the Signs By way of terror (And warning from evil).
17: 60 Behold! We told thee That thy Lord doth encompass Mankind round
17: 60 about: We granted the Vision Which We showed thee, But as a
17: 60 trial for men,- As also the Cursed Tree (Mentioned)in the Qur-an
17: 60 We put terror (and warning) Into them, but it only Increases
17: 60 their inordinate transgression!
17: 60 SECTION 7.
18: 2 (He hath made it) Straight (And Clear) in order that He may
18: 2 warn (the godless) Of a terrible Punishment From Him, and that
18: 2 He May give Glad Tidings To the Believers who work Righteous
18: 2 deeds, that they Shall have a goodly Reward,
18: 18 Thou wouldst have deemed them Awake, whilst they were asleep And
18: 18 We turned them On their right and on Their left sides: their dog
18: 18 Stretching forth his two fore-legs On the threshold :if thou
18: 18 Hadst come up on to them, Thou wouldst have certainly Turned back
18: 18 from them in flight And wouldst certainly have been Filled
18: 18 with terror of them:
18: 49 And the Book (of Deeds) Will be placed (before you); And thou
18: 49 wilt see The sinful in great terror Because of what is (recorded)
18: 49 There in ; they will say, "Ah! woe to us! What a book is this!
18: 49 It leaves out nothing Small or great, but Takes account thereof!"
18: 49 They will find all that they Did, placed before them: And not one
18: 49 will thy Lord Treat with injustice.
18: 49 SECTION 7.
20:102 The Day when the Trumpet Will be sounded: that Day, We shall
20:102 gather the sinful, Blear-eyed (with terror).
21:103 The Great Terror will Bring them no grief: But the angels will
21:103 meet them (With mutual greetings): " This is your Day,-
21:103 (The Day) that ye were promised."
22: 1 O mankind ! Fear your Lord! For the convulsion of the Hour (Of
22: 1 Judgment) will be A thing terrible!
22: 44 And the Companions Of the Madyan people: And Moses was rejected
22: 44 (In the same way). But I Granted respite to the Unbelievers
22: 44 And (only) after that Did I punish them: But how (terrible)
22: 44 was My rejection (of them)!
27: 22 But the Hoopoe tarried not Far: he (came up and) said:' I have
27: 22 compassed (territory) Which thou hast not compassed, And I have
27: 22 come to thee From Saba with tidings true.
27: 87 And the Day that the Trumpet Will be sounded- then will be
27: 87 Smitten with terror those Who are in the heavens And those who
27: 87 are on earth Except such as Allah will please (To exempt):
27: 87 and all shall come To His (Presence) as beings Conscious of
27: 87 their lowliness.
27: 89 If any do good good will (Accrue) to them therefrom; And they
27: 89 will be secure From terror that Day.
33: 26 And those of the people Of the Book who aided Them-Allah did take
33: 26 them Down from their strongholds And cast terror into Their hearts,
33: 26 (so that). Some ye slew, and some Ye made prisoners.
34: 15 There was for Saba Aforetime a Sign in their Homeland-two Gardens
34: 15 To the right and to the left. "Eat of the Sustenance (provided)
34: 15 By your Lord and be grateful To Him: a territory fair and happy,
34: 15 And a Lord Oft-Forgiving!
34: 23 "No intercession can avail In His Presence except for those For
34: 23 whom He has granted Premission. So far (is this The case) that
34: 23 when terror Is removed from their hearts (At the Day of Judgment,
34: 23 then) Will they say, 'What is it That your Lord commanded?' They
34: 23 will say, 'That which is True and just ; and He is The Most High,
34: 23 Most Great."
34: 45 And their perdecessors rejected (The Truth); these have Not
34: 45 received a tenth Of what We had granted To those: yet when they
34: 45 rejected My apostles, how (terrible) Was My rejection (of them)!
34: 45 SECTION 6.
34: 46 Say: "I do admonish you On one point: that ye Do stand up before
34: 46 Allah,- (It may be) in pairs, Or (it may be ) singly,- And reflect
34: 46 (within yourselves): Your Companion is not Possessed: he is no
34: 46 less Than a Warner to you, In face of a terrible Penalty."
34: 51 If thou couldst but see When they will quake With terror; but
34: 51 then There will be no escape (For them), and they will be Seized
34: 51 from a position (Quite) near.
35: 7 For those who reject Allah, Is a terrible Penalty: but For those
35: 7 who believe And work righteous deeds Is Forgiveness, and A
35: 7 magnificent Reward.
35: 7 SECTION 2.
35: 10 If any do seek For glory and power, To Allah belong All glory and
35: 10 power. To Him mount up (All) Words of Purity: It is He Who exalts
35: 10 Each Deed of Righteousness. Those that lay Plots Of Evil ,- for
35: 10 them Is a Penalty terrible; And the plotting of such Will be void
35: 10 (of result).
35: 26 In the end did I Punish those who rejected Faith: and how
35: 26 (terrible) Was My rejection (of them)!
35: 26 SECTION 4.
38: 22 When they entered The presence of David ,And he was terrified Of
38: 22 them, they said:"Fear not: we are two Disputants ,one of whom
38: 22 Has wronged the other: Decide now between us With truth, and
38: 22 treat us not With injustice, but guide us To the even Path...
40: 5 But (there were people ) before them, Who denied (the Signs ),-
40: 5 The people of Noah, And the Confederates (Of Evil) after them;
40: 5 And every people plotted Against their prophet, To seize him,
40: 5 and disputed By means of vanities ,Therewith to condemn The
40: 5 Truth; but it was I That seized them! And how (terrible),
40: 5 Was my Requital!
42: 16 But those who dispute Concerning Allah after He Has been accepted,-
42: 16 Futile is their dispute In the sight of Their Lord: on them
42: 16 Is wrath, and for them Will be a Penalty Terrible.
42: 26 And He listens to Those who believe and Do deeds of righteousness,
42: 26 And gives them increase Of His Bounty: but For the Unbelievers
42: 26 there is A terrible Penalty.
52: 45 So leave them alone Until they encounter That Day of theirs,
52: 45 Wherein they shall (perforce) Swoon (with terror),-
54: 6 Therefore, (O Prophet,) Turn away from them. The Day that the
54: 6 Caller Will call (them) To a terrible affair,
54: 16 But how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning?
54: 18 The 'Ad (people) (too) Rejected (Truth): then How terrible was
54: 18 My Penalty and My Warning!
54: 21 Yea, how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning!
54: 30 Ah! how (terrible) was My penalty and My Warning!
59: 2 It is He Who got out The Unbelievers among The People of the
59: 2 Book From their homes At the first gathering (Of the forces).
59: 2 Little did ye think That they would get out: And they thought
59: 2 That their fortresses Would defend them from Allah! But the (Wrath
59: 2 of) Allah Came to them from quarters From
59: 2 which they little Expected (it) and cast Terror into their
59: 2 hearts. So that they destroyed Their dwellings by their own
59: 2 Hands and the hands Of the Believers. Take warning, then, O ye
59: 2 with eyes (to see) !
59: 13 Of a truth ye are Stronger (than they) Because of the terror
59: 13 In their hearts (Sent) by Allah: This is because they are Men
59: 13 devoid of understanding.
67: 7 When they are cast therein, They will hear The (terrible)
67: 7 drawing in Of its breath Even as it blazes forth,
67: 17 Or do ye feel secure That He Who is in Heaven Will not send agains
67: 17 you A violent tornado (With showers of stones,) So that ye shall
67: 17 Know how (terrible) Was My warning?
67: 18 But indeed men before them Rejected (My warning): Then how
67: 18 (terrible) was My rejection (of them)
69: 5 But the Thamud,- They were destroyed By a terrible Storm Of thunder
69: 5 and lightning!
80: 2 Because there came to him The blind man (interrupting).
STRING = NATI
2:124 And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord, With certain
2:124 Commands, Which he fulfilled: He said: "I will make thee An Imam to
2:124 the Nations." he pleaded: "And also (Imams) from my offspring!" He
2:124 answered: "But My Promise Is not within the reach Of evil-doers."
2:126 And remember Abraham said: "My Lord, make this a City Of Peace, and
2:126 feed its People With fruits, -such of them As believe in Allah and
2:126 the Last Day." He said: "(Yea), and such as Reject Faith,_ for a
2:126 while Will I grant them their pleasure, But will soon drive them To
2:126 the torment of Fire,- An evil destination (indeed)!"
2:143 Thus have We made of you An ummat justly balanced, That ye might be
2:143 witnesses Over the nations, And the Apostle a witness Over
2:143 yourselves; And We appointed the Qibla To which thou wast used,
2:143 Only to test those who followed The apostle from those Who would
2:143 turn on their heels (From the Faith). Indeed it was (A change)
2:143 momentous, except To those guided by Allah, And never would Allah
2:143 Make your faith of no effect, For Allah is to all people Most
2:143 surely full of kindness, Most Merciful.
2:164 Behold! In the creation Of the heavens and the earth; In the
2:164 alternation Of the Night and the Day, In the sailing of the ships
2:164 Through the ocean For the profit of mankind; In the rain which
2:164 Allah Sends down from the skies; And the life which He gives
2:164 therewith To an earth that is dead; In the beasts of all kinds That
2:164 He scatters Through the earth; In the change of the winds, And the
2:164 clouds which they Trail like their slaves Between the sky and the
2:164 earth;- (Here) indeed are Signs For a people that are wise.
2:213 Mankind was one single nation , And Allah sent Messengers With glad
2:213 tidings and warnings; And with them He sent The Book in truth, To
2:213 judge between people In matters wherein They differed; But the
2:213 People of the Book, After the Clear Signs Came to them, did not
2:213 differ Among themselves, Except through selfishcontumacy. Allah by
2:213 His Grace Guided the Believers To the Truth, Concerning that
2:213 Wherein they differed. For Allah guides Whom He will To a path That
2:213 is straight.
3: 42 Behold!the angels said: O Mary! Allah hath chosen thee and Purified
3: 42 thee- chosen thee Above the women of all nations.
3:190 Behold! In the creation Of the heavens and the earth, And the
3:190 alternation Of Night and Day,- There are indeed Signs For men of
3:190 understanding,-
4: 59 O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Apostle, And those
4: 59 charged With authority among you, If ye differ in anything Among
4: 59 yourselves, refer it To Allah and His Apostle, If ye do believe in
4: 59 Allah And the Last Day: That is best, and most suitable For final
4: 59 determination.
4: 59 SECTION 9.
5: 4 Forbidden to you (for food) Are: dead meat, blood, The flesh of
5: 4 swine, and that On which hath been invoked The name of other than
5: 4 Allah, That which hath been Killed by strangling, Or by a violent
5: 4 blow, Or by a headlong fall, Or by being gored to death: That which
5: 4 hath been (partly) Eaten by a wild animal; Unless ye are able To
5: 4 'slaughter it (in due form); That which is sacrificed 693 On stone
5: 4 (altars); (Forbidden) also is the division (Of meat) by raffling
5: 4 With arrows: that is impiety. his day have those who Reject Faith
5: 4 given up All hope of your religion: Yet fear them not But fear Me.
5: 4 This day have I Perfected your religion For you, completed My
5: 4 favour upon you, And have chosen for you Islam as your religion.
5: 4 But if any is forced By hunger, with no inclination To
5: 4 transgression, Allah is Indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
5: 93 O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (Dedication of)
5: 93 stones, And (divination by) arrows, Are an abomination,- Of Satan's
5: 93 handiwork: Eschew such (abomination), That ye may prosper.
6: 42 Before thee We sent (Apostles) to many nations And We afficted
6: 42 the nations, With suffering and adversity, That they might learn
6: 42 humility.
6: 86 And Isma'il and Elisha, And Jonas, and Lot: And to all We gave
6: 86 Favour above the nations;
6: 90 Those were the (prophets) Who received Allah's guidance: Copy the
6: 90 guidance they received; Say: "No reward for this Do I ask of you:
6: 90 This is no less than A Message for the nations."
6: 90 SECTION 11.
6:145 Say: "I find not In the Message received By me By inspiration Any
6:145 (meat) forbidden To be eaten by one Who wishes to eat it, Unless it
6:145 be dead meat, Or blood poured forth, Or the flesh of swine,- For it
6:145 is an abomination- Or, what is impious, (meat) On which a name has
6:145 been Invocked, other than Allah's." But (even so), if a person Is
6:145 forced by necessity, Without wilful disobedience, Nor transgressing
6:145 due limits,- Thy Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
7: 69 "Do ye wonder that There hath come to you A messege from your Lord
7: 69 Through a man of your own People, to warn you? Call in remembrance
7: 69 That He made you Inheritors after the people Of Noah, and gave you
7: 69 A stature tall among the nations. Call in remembrance The benefits
7: 69 (ye have received) From Allah: that so Ye may prosper."
7:140 He said: "Shall I seek for you A god other than the (true) Allah,
7:140 when it is Allah Who hath endowed you With gifts above the
7:140 nations?"
7:160 We diveded them into twelve Tribes Or nations. We directed Moses
7:160 by inspiration, When his (thirsty) people asked Him for water:
7:160 "Strike the rock With thy staff": out of it There gushed forth
7:160 twelve springs: Each group knew its own place For water. We gave
7:160 them The shade of clouds, and sent Down to them manna and quails,
7:160 (saying):"Eat of the good things We have provided for you":
7:160 (But they rebelled); to Us They did no harm but They harmed
7:160 their own souls.
9: 15 And still the indignation of their hearts. For Allah will turn
9: 15 (in mercy) To whom He will; and Allah Is All-Knowing, All-wise.
9: 95 They will swear to you by Allah, When ye return to them, That ye
9: 95 may leave them alone. So leave them alone: For they are an
9: 95 abomination, And Hell is their dwelling-place,- A fitting
9: 95 recompense For the (evil) that they did.
10: 6 Verily, in the alternation Of the Night and the Day, And in all
10: 6 that Allah Hath created, in the heavens And the earth, are Signs
10: 6 For those who fear Him.
10: 19 Mankind was but one nation, But differed (later). Had it not Been
10: 19 for a Word That went forth before From thy Lord, their differences
10: 19 Would have been settled Between them.
10: 37 This Qur-an is not such As can be produced By other than Allah :
10: 37 On the contrary it is A confirmation of (revelations) That went
10: 37 before it, And a fuller explanation Of the Book -wherein There is
10: 37 no doubt- From the Lord of the Worlds.
11: 12 Perchance thou mayest (feel The inclination) to give up A part of
11: 12 what is revealed Unto thee, and thy heart Feeleth straitened
11: 12 lest they say, "Why is not a treasure sent down Unto him, or why
11: 12 does not An angel come down with him?" But thou art there only
11: 12 to warn! It is Allah that arrangeth All affairs!
11: 78 And his people came Rushing towards him, And they had been long
11: 78 In the habit of practising Abominations. He said: "O my people!
11: 78 Here are My daughters: they are purer For you (if ye marry)!
11: 78 Now fear Allah, and cover me not With shame about my guests! Is
11: 78 there not among you A single right-minded man?"
17: 35 Give full measure when ye Measure, and weigh With a balance that
17: 35 is straight; That is the most fitting And the most advantageous In
17: 35 the final determination.
20: 86 So Moses returned to his people In a state of indignation And
20: 86 sorrow. He said: "O my people ! did not Your Lord make a handsome
20: 86 Promise to you? Did then The promise seem to you Long (in coming)?
20: 86 Or did ye Desire that Wrath should Descend from your Lord on you,
20: 86 And so ye broke your promise To me?"
21: 71 But We delivered him And (his nephew) Lut (And directed them) to
21: 71 the land Which We have blessed For the nations.
21: 74 And to Lut too, We gave Judgment and knowledge, And We saved him
21: 74 From the town which practised Abomination: truly they were A
21: 74 people given to Evil A rebellious people.
22: 30 Such (is the Pilgrimage ): Whoever honours the sacred Rites of
22: 30 God, for him It is good in the sight Of his Lord. Lawful to you
22: 30 (For food in Pilgrimage) are cattle Except those mentioned to
22: 30 you (As exceptions): but shun The abomination of idols, And shun
22: 30 the word That is false,-
22: 48 And to how many populations Did I give respite, which Were given
22: 48 to wrong-doing? In the end I punished them To Me is the
22: 48 destination (of all).
22: 48 SECTION 7.
22: 72 When Our Clear Signs Are rehearsed to them, Thou wilt notice a
22: 72 denial On the faces of the Unbelievers! They nearly attack with
22: 72 violence Those who rehearse Our Signs To them. Say ," Shall I
22: 72 Tell you of something (Far) worse than these Signs? It is the
22: 72 Fire (of Hell)! Allah has promised it To the Unbelievers!
22: 72 And evil is that destination!"
22: 72 SECTION 10.
23: 80 It is He Who gives Life and death, and to Him (Is due) the
23: 80 alternation Of Night and Day: Will ye not then understand ?
25: 33 And no question do they Bring to thee but We Reveal to thee the
25: 33 truth And the best explanation (thereof ).
33: 23 Among the Believers are men Who have been true to Their Covenant
33: 23 with Allah: Of them some have completed Their vow to (the extreme),
33: 23 And some (still) wait But they have never changed (Their determ-
33: 23 ination) in the least:
33: 33 And stay quietly in Your houses and make not A dazzling display,
33: 33 like That of the former Times Of Ignorance; and establish
33: 33 Regular Prayer and give Regular Charity; and obey Allah and His
33: 33 Apostle. And Allah only wishes To remove all abomination From
33: 33 you ye Members Of the Family, and to make You pure and spotless.
35: 18 Nor can a bearer of burdens Bear another's burden. If one heavily
35: 18 laden should Call another to (bear) his load, Not the least portion
35: 18 of it Can be carried (by the other), Even though he be nearly
35: 18 Related. Thou canst but Admonish such as fear Their Lord unseen And
35: 18 establish regular Prayer And whoever purifies himself Does so for
35: 18 the benefit Of his own soul; and The destination (of all) Is to
35: 18 Allah.
37: 79 "Peace and salutation to Noah Among the nations!"
38: 64 Truly that is just and fitting -The mutual recriminations Of
38: 64 the People of the Fire!
38: 64 SECTION 5.
43: 51 And Pharaoh proclaimed Among his people, saying: "O my people!
43: 51 Does not The domination of Egypt Belong to me, (witness) These
43: 51 streams flowing Underneath my (palace)? What! See ye not then?
44: 32 And We chose them aforetime Above the nations, knowingly,
45: 5 And in the alternation Of Night and Day, And the fact that Allah
45: 5 Sends down Sustenance from The sky, and revives therewith The
45: 5 earth after its death, And the change Of the winds,-are Signs For
45: 5 those that are wise.
45: 11 This is (true) Guidance: And for those who reject The Signs of
45: 11 their Lord, Is a grievous Penalty Of abomination.
45: 11 SECTION 2.
45: 16 We did aforetime Grant to the Children Of Israel the Book, The
45: 16 Power of Command And Prophethood; We gave Them, for Sustenance,

48: 6 And that He may punish The Hypocrites, men and Women and the
48: 6 Polytheists, Men and women who imagine An evil opinion of Allah.
48: 6 On them is a round Of Evil: the Wrath of Allah Is on them:
48: 6 He has cursed Them and got Hell ready For them: and evil Is it
48: 6 for a destination.
49: 13 O mankind! We created You from a single (pair) Of a male and a
49: 13 female And made you into Nations and tribes, that Ye may know
49: 13 each other (Not that ye may despise Each other). Verily The most
49: 13 honoured of you In the sight of Allah Is (he who is) the most
49: 13 Righteous of you And Allah has full knowledge And is well
49: 13 acquainted (With all things).
58: 8 Turnest thou not thy sight Towards those who were Forbidden secret
58: 8 counsels Yet revert to that which They were forbidden (to do)?
58: 8 And they hold secret counsels Among themselves for iniquity And
58: 8 hostility and disobedience To the Apostle. And when They come to
58: 8 thee They salute thee, Not as Allah salutes thee, (But in crooked
58: 8 ways): And they say to themselves, "Why does not Allah Punish us
58: 8 for our words ?" Enough for them is Hell: In it will they burn,
58: 8 And evil is that destination!
65: 11 An Apostle, who rehearses To you the Signs of Allah Containing
65: 11 clear explanations, That he may lead forth Those who believe And do
65: 11 righteous deeds From the depths of Darkness Into Light. And those
65: 11 who Believe in Allah and work Righteousness, He will admit To
65: 11 Gardens beneath which rivers Flow, to dwell therein For ever:
65: 11 Allah has indeed Granted for them A most excellent provision.
67: 6 For those who reject Their Lord (and Cherisher) Is the Penalty of
67: 6 Hell: And evil is (such) destination.
74: 5 And all abomination shun!
78: 22 For the transgressors A place of destination:

2: 36 Then did Satan make them slip From the (Garden), and get them out
2: 36 Of the state (of felicity) in which They had been. We said : "Get
2: 36 ye down, all (ye people), With enmity between yourselves. On earth
2: 36 will be your dwelling place And your means of livelihood - For a
2: 36 time.
3:104 Let there arise out of you A band of people Inviting to all that is
3:104 good, Enjoining what is right, And forbidding what is wrong:- They
3:104 are the ones To attain felicity.
3:167 And the Hypocrites also. These were told: "Come, Fight in the way
3:167 Allah , Or (at least) drive (The foe from your city). "They said;
3:167 "Had we known How to fight, we should, Certainly have followed
3:167 you." They were that da, Nearer to Unbelief Than to Faith, Saying
3:167 with their lips What was not in their hearts. But Allah hath full
3:167 knowledge Of all they conceal.
7: 43 And We shall remove From their hearts any Lurking sense of injury;-
7: 43 Beneath them will be Rivers flowing;- and they Shall say: "Praise
7: 43 be to Allah, Who hath guided us To this (felicity): never Could we
7: 43 have found Guidance, had it not been For the guidance of Allah:
7: 43 Indeed it was the truth That the Apostles of our Lord Brought unto
7: 43 us." And they Shall hear the cry: "Behold! the Garden before you!
7: 43 Ye have been made Its inheritors for your Deeds (of
7: 43 righteousness)."
7: 82 And his people gave No answer but this: They said, "Drive them out
7: 82 Of your city: these are Indeed men who want To be clean and pure!"
7: 88 The leaders, the arrogant Party among his people, said: "O Shu'aib!
7: 88 we shall Certainly drive thee out Of our city- (thee) and those Who
7: 88 believe with thee: Or else ye (thou and they) Shall have to return
7: 88 To our ways and religion." He said: "What! even Though we do
7: 88 detest (them)?
7:123 Said Pharaoh: "Believe ye In Him before I give You permission?
7:123 Surely This is a trick which ye Have planned in the City To drive
7:123 out its people: But soon shall ye know (The consequences).
9: 89 Allah hath prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow, To
9: 89 dwell therein : That is the supreme felicity.
9: 89 SECTION 12.
9:100 The vanguard (of Islam)- The first of those who forsook (Their
9:100 homes ) and of those Who gave them aid, and (also) Those who follow
9:100 them In (all) good deeds,- Well-pleased is Allah with them, As
9:100 are they with Him: For them hath He prepared Gardensunder which
9:100 rivers flow, To dwell therein for ever: That is the supreme
9:100 Felicity.
10: 64 For them are Glad Tidings , In the life of the Present And in the
10: 64 Hereafter : No change can there be In the Words of Allah. This is
10: 64 indeed The superme Felicity .
12: 30 Ladies said in the City: "The wife of the (great)' Aziz Is seeking
12: 30 to seduce her slave From his (true) self: Truly hath he inspired
12: 30 her With violent love: we see She is evidently going astray."
14: 35 Remember Abraham said:"O my Lord!make this city One of peace And
14: 35 security And preserve me and my sons From worshipping idols.
15: 67 The inhabitants of the City Came in (mad) joy (at news of the
15: 67 young men).
24: 51 The answer of the Believers, When summoned To Allah and His
24: 51 Apostle . In order that he may judge between them, Is no other
24: 51 than this : They say,"We hear and We obey" It is such as these
24: 51 That will attain felicity.
27: 48 There were in the City Nine men of a family, Who made mischief in
27: 48 the land, And would not reform.
27: 56 But his people gave No other answer but this: They said, "Drive out
27: 56 The followers of Lut from Your city: these are Indeed men who
27: 56 want To be clean and pure!"
27: 91 For me, I have been Commanded to serve the Lord Of this City, Him
27: 91 Who has Sanctified it and to Whom (Belong) all things: And I am
27: 91 commanded To be of those who bow In Islam to Allah's Will,-
28: 15 And he entered the City At a time when its people Were not
28: 15 watching; and he Found there two men fighting,- One of his own
28: 15 religion And the other, of his foes. Now the man of his own
28: 15 Religion appealed to him Against his foe, and Moses Struck him
28: 15 with his fist And made an end of him He said: "This is a work
28: 15 Of Evil (Satan): for he is An enemy that manifestly Misleads!"
28: 18 So he saw the morning In the City looking about, In a state of
28: 18 fear, when Behold the man who had The day before sought his help
28: 18 Called aloud for his help (Again). Moses said to him: "Thou art
28: 18 truly, it is clear. A quarrelsome fellow!"
28: 20 And there came a man, Running from the furthest end Of the City.
28: 20 He said: "O Moses ! the Chiefs Are taking counsel together About
28: 20 thee, to slay thee: So get thee away, for I Do give thee
28: 20 sincere advice."
33: 14 And if an entry had Been effected to them From the sides of the
33: 14 (City), And they had been Incited to sedition, They would
33: 14 certainly have Brought it to pass with None but a brief delay!
33: 60 Truly, if the Hypocrites And those in whose hearts Is a disease
33: 60 and those who Stir up sedition in the City, Desist not We shall
33: 60 certainly Stir thee up against them: Then will they not be Able
33: 60 to stay in it As thy neighbours For any length of time :
36: 13 Set forth to them, By way of a parable, The (story of) the
36: 13 Companions Of the City. Behold, There came apostles to it.
36: 20 Then there came running. From the farthest part Of the City, a
36: 20 man, Saying, "O my People ! Obey the apostles:
37: 43 In Gardens of Felicity,
47: 13 And how many cities, With more power than Thy city which has
47: 13 Driven thee out, Have We destroyed (For their sins)? And there
47: 13 was none To aid them.
58: 22 Thou wilt not find Any people who believe In Allah and the Last
58: 22 Day, Loving those who resist Allah and His Apostle Even though they
58: 22 were Their fathers or their sons, Or thier brothers, or Their
58: 22 kindred. For such He has written Faith In their hearts and
58: 22 strengthened Them With a spirit From Himself. And He Will admit
58: 22 them to Gardens Beneath which Rivers flow, To dwell therein (for
58: 22 ever). Allah will be well pleased With them, and they With Him They
58: 22 are the Party Of Allah. Truly it is The Party of Allah that Will
58: 22 achieve Felicity.
59: 20 Not equal are The Companions of the Fire And the Companions Of the
59: 20 Garden: It is the Companions Of the Garden That will achieve
59: 20 Felicity.
89: 7 Of the (city of) Iram With lofty pillars,
90: 1 I do call to witness This City;-
90: 2 And thou art a freeman Of this City;-
95: 3 And this City Of security,-

12: 53 certainly prone to evil, Unless my Lord do bestow His Mercy:

12:109 Nor did We send before thee (As apostles) any but men Whom We
12:109 did inspire, (Men) living in human habitations. Do they not travel
12:109 Through the earth, and see What was the end Of those before them?
12:109 But the home of the Hereafter Is best, for those who do right.
12:109 Will ye not then understand?
14: 10 Their apostles said:"Is there A doubt about Allah, The creator
14: 10 of the heavens And the earth? It is He Who invites you, in order
14: 10 That He may forgive you Your sins and give you Respite for a
14: 10 term appointed!"They said:"Ah! ye are No more than human, Like
14: 10 ourselves! Ye wish To turn us away from The (gods) our fathers
14: 10 Used to worship: then Bring us some clear authority."
14: 11 Their apostles said to them:"True, we are human Like yourselves,
14: 11 but Allah Doth graht His grace To such of His servants As He
14: 11 pleases. It is not For us to bring you An authority except as
14: 11 Allah Permits. And on Allah Let all men of faith Put their trust.
15: 85 We created not the heavens, The earth and all between them, But
15: 85 for just ends: And the Hour is surely Coming (when this will be

64: 6 That was because there Came to them apostles With Clear Signs But
64: 6 they said: "Shall (mere) human beings Direct us ?" So they rejected

2:228 Divorced women Shall wait concerning themselves For three monthly
2:228 periods. Nor is it lawful for them To hide what Allah Hath created

4: 25 SECTION 5.
4: 32 And in no wise covet Those things in which Allah Hath bestowed

4: 32 allotted what they earn, And to women what they earn: But ask Allah
4: 32 of His bounty: For Allah hath full knowledge Of all things.
4: 34 Men are the protectors And maintainers of women, Because Allah has
4: 34 given The one more (strength) Than the other, and because They
4: 34 support them From their means. Therefore the righteous women Are
4: 34 devoutly obedient, and guard In (the husband's) absence What Allah
4: 34 would have them guard. As to those women On whose part ye fear
4: 34 Disloyalty and ill-conduct, Admonish them (first), (Next), refuse

4: 75 And why should ye not Fight in the cause of Allah And of those who,
4: 75 being weak, Are ill-treated (and oppressed)?- Men, women, and
4: 75 children, Whose cry is: "Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, Whose

4:127 unto you In the Book, concerning The orphans of women to whom Ye
4:127 give not the portions Prescribed, and yet whom ye Desire to marry,
4:127 as also Concerning the children Who are weak and oppressed: That ye

5: 6 the Hereafter He will be in the ranks Of those who have lost (All
5: 6 spiritual good).
5: 6 SECTION 2.
5: 7 O ye who believe! When ye prepare For prayer, wash Your faces, and
