I
love to travel! I have been able to visit 46 of the 50 States, Canada,
Ireland, England, France, Spain and most recently Mexico.

I
had been to Mexico on several occasions and visited Tijuana, Nogales
and Juarez. Border towns all. In March I had the opportunity to
venture to Mazatlan on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. Warm weather,
beautiful beaches, great tacos and cheap beer greeted us. My college
Spanish came back to me well enough to order a kg of tortillas in
a little tortilleria in Malpica that were the freshest I have ever
had. I was impressed with the friendliness of the Mexican people
and enjoyed exemplary service in all of the restaurants we visited!
Mazatlan
had a beautiful old cathedral in the heart of town. Near the square
and near the market, the cathedral served as the reference point
with its towering spire.

While
the peddlers on the beach were persistent, the warm sand and gentle
tides made for lazy afternoons. We spent a lot of time just enjoying
the view from our balcony, reading and enjoying Pacifico beer.
