Walter was raised at Isle Of Hope , Georgia with His Step Father , Elmore Carmer Warren , His Mother , And His Mentally retarded brother George, who was the oldest child. Walter was educated in the Roman Catholic Church School System. He attended Benedictine High School in Savannah , Georgia.Walter's life was a full one ,living on the water and doing the things He enjoyed doing so much. Fishing and boating and playing golf. His Step Father built Him His own boat when He was a youngster.He and His friends would go fishing and shrimping together. As Walter grew older He got Him a job on the golf course as a caddy. It was then that He learned to play golf while waiting for a client to caddy for. Walter learned well and went on to play in many tournaments as a non-professional. He also worked on shrimp boats as a deck hand.Walter moved to Richmond , Virginia with His family in the year 1930. He took a job as a caddy on the local golf course. He met with employees of E.I.Dupont Chemical Company that He was cadding for and they took a liking to Him . They got Him full time employment with Dupont Co.even though the great depression was on and jobs were hard to find.Walter was lucky.He went on to work for Dupont for the next 40 or so years.He retired as a mil-wright.Walter was Good to His family.
