Linton was married twice. Florence was his first wife and they had six children before Her death in 1918.Linton had two children by his second wife. He had two children named Linton Dunn Stables, one by each wife.The first Linton born to Florence died in 1909 as an infant.

Linton married Florence Elsie Kersey Stables, daughter of Philip Watkins Kersey and Emma Cornelia King Kersey, on Jul 23, 1908. (Florence Elsie Kersey Stables was born on Feb 28, 1885 in Hanover County, Virginia, died on Oct 31, 1918 and was buried kersey Family Cemetery in Kersey Family Farm State Rt.798 Hanover, Virginia.) The cause of her death was she died during the flue epidemic of 1918.

Linton also married Katherine (Kate) Gray Stables. (Katherine (Kate) Gray Stables was born on Apr 1, 1894 and died on Jan 24, 2000 in Richmond , VA. Hermitage Methodist Home.)
