   General Notes:

Phil was six years old when his Father died. He took it very hard, not knowing why it had to happened. At the time of his funeral his mother thought he was too young to attend. This has always left a gap in his life and has been hard to cope with thru the years. Phil was always a very inquisitive little boy and always wanted to know what made things tick and why. As a youngster he stayed in trouble with his mother for traveling the neighborhood alleys,going through all the interesting trash cans. He made frequent trips to the dump as well and gathered all the goodies that others did not want. He brought them home to examine and play with. Phil had lawn cutting customers as a youngster to give him spending money. Some would call the bank where his mother was employed to tell him to come cut the grass again. Phil took an interest in Radio and small and large appliance repairs. He per sued this path for twelve years, seven years in a partnership with James W.Grow Trading as Grow's Appliances. He later left the appliance business and went to work for Experiment Inc. as a technician in rocket research. He attained the level of technical engineer, when he left their employment sixteen years later. From there to Waste Combustion Corp.,later the name changed to Consumat Systems Inc., as a design engineer for electrical, pneumatic,and hydraulic control systems. Waste Combustion Corp. was a manufacturer of waste burning incinerators with steam energy recovery systems. Phil was there for nine years then on to Richmond Industrial Corp.. Here he also worked as a design engineer but the product manufactured was related to the paper converting industry. They manufactured Printing presses,laminators,splicers and all types of paper related requirements. He worked there until retirement, thirteen years, till nineteen ninety five and age sixty five. During Phil's life he has lived with ,if it is broke " Phil Fix It ". Phil has been well blessed and loved. He was appointed a certified rifle instructor by the National Rifle Association of America in August 1969 . He was also a certified High Powered Rifle Instructor .

   Medical Notes:

At age 61 yrs. Phillip suffered a cardiac arrest,but had no permanent heart damage. Since about 1981 he has had type ll Diabetes. His treatment for a blocked artery was a rotor rooter vessel clean out. It has worked well. This type of operation has since been discontinued. He has suffered from hypertension since about 1981.In the year 2002 ,January 8, he suffered with another heart attack . This angioplasty required a stint in the R. C. A ..In February of the same year he contracted pneumonia and bronchitis also in April he came down with shingles on his body on the right side.

John married Elizabeth Carmer Warren Kersey, daughter of Elmore Carmer Warren and Arhonton[Ora] Balasio Warren, on Mar 11, 1950 in St. Luke's Episcopal Church Richmond, Virginia. (Elizabeth Carmer Warren Kersey was born on Dec 29, 1931 in Richmond, Virginia and was baptized in Jan 1932 in St.Lukes Episcopal Church, Richmond, Virginia.)
