Clarence was a retired Molder and had worked for the Southern Railway Co. for many years. His job consisted of making molds for casting piston cylinders for steam engines. Clarence was a member of the Roman Catholic Church as was the rest of His Family.He had two brothers , E.T.[ Eddie ] , and F.A.[Aubrey] Clarke also Five sisters Mrs. Mabel McDonnell , Mrs. Lillie Harley , Mrs. Rosa Ferriter , Mrs. Julian Neal , and Mrs. Alma Taylor. They all lived in Richmond , Virginia.

Clarence's problems, as He determined from what the doctors told him , was Prostate enlargement , Hardening of the Arteries , Over worked Heart , Ulcer of the Stomach , Shortening of the Breath , and Pus on the Kidneys.
Clarence married Alene Bolton Childress Kersey Clarke, daughter of John Wesley Childress Sr. and Effie Lush Childress, on Aug 31, 1940 in Richmond, Virginia.
