   General Notes:

Jean Jacquelyn was known to her brothers and sisters as Jackie and still is. Jackie was ten years old when her father died. She like her sister Ann was expected to help with the chores of the home. With out this help from them our home would most likely of had to split up,mother just could not handle it all. The girls helped with the house cleaning and took turns with the cooking. The boys always kidded that they were the guinea pigs for their cooking, but they all survived. Donald Ray Kersey was known to the family as Donnie and still is. Donnie was the baby at Stuart's death, he was two years old. Jackie took it upon herself to look after Donnie, she with the help of her girl friend from next door,Dorothy Lowisser, would bath him and keep him in clean clothes. They would comb his hair in a fashion that was popular at that time, like Baby Snooks. She would take him to the grocery store with her and the grocer Mr.Zemburg thought he was the grandest. He gave him cookies, that in those times were a great treat. The girls were good students in school and did well. Jackie was a leader in the Victory Corps at John Marshall High School when she was a student there. This was during the world war II era and it was to brighten the spirits on the home front,it did. When Jackie's sister,Ann,finished school and went to work she began buying her own clothes. Ann bought herself a dress on one occasion carried it home and had not worn it . At a later date Ann was looking at some pictures that Jackie had taken when she was on a date with her boy friend and there she discovered that Jackie had worn her new dress on a date with out Ann knowing it. The pictures had given her away. Jackie as well as Ann were good to their brothers, after they went to work earning there own money they would buy nice expensive gifts for them at the occasion of there birthdays and at Christmas time. There was not a stingy bone in there body's. We all loved our brothers and sisters and got along very well with one another.
