Worlhie L. Childress died Friday January 8. 1988, He is survived by his Wife, Mrs. Virginia S. Childress; two sisters, Gertrude Childress and Mrs. Charles Williams; one brother, Garland W. Childress. His remains rest at the Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd. Funeral notice later. Mr. Childress was retired from Federal Reserve Bank, a member of Manchester Lodge No. 14 AF & AM, and Order of Eastern Star No. 53 and a member of McGuire United Methodist Church.

Worthie married Gladys Virginia Shelton Childress on Nov 8, 1940. (Gladys Virginia Shelton Childress was born in 1914.)
