George Ben has been a dairy farmer for most of His adult life.He has been a deacon in the Piedmont Baptist Church, Amelia County Virginia for many years.His farm is Lushaven and it was not untill 1998 that He gave up His dairy herd that He and His son Sandy had been operating for years.

George Ben was raised in Chesterfield County,Va , He later bought a dairy farm in Amelia,where he was active in community affairs. He helped to bring the telephone to the county, build the War Memorial Building and served as president of Ruritans and Young Farmers.He was active in Mount Herman Baptist Church in Chesterfield and later in Piedmont Baptist Church in Amelia where he was a deacon for over 50 years until his death. George Ben Lush, an Amelia County dairyman, died November 9, 2001 at age 93. Raised in Chesterfield, Va., he later bought a dairy farm in Amelia where he was active in community affairs. He helped to bring the telephone to the county, build the War Memorial Building and served as president of Ruritans and Young Farmers. He was active in Mount Herman Baptist Church in Chesterfield and later in Piedmont Baptist Church in Amelia where he was a deacon for over 50 years until his death. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Brooks Lush; daughters, Gail Powell of New Zealand and Bonnie Yospin of Amelia; son, Sandy R. Lush of Amelia; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be I held at Lushaven Farm in Ame- lia on Saturday, November 10 from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Piedmont Baptist Church, 17801 Genito Road, Amelia, on Sunday, November 11 at 4 p.m., followed by fellowship. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Piedmont Baptist Church Building Fund or the James L. Hamner Library.
