Valerie Oxley Keener, 42, of Mechanicsville, died suddenly April 27, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Charles Kevin Keener; children, Grayland Scott and Amber Bell Keener; mother and father, Carol and Russell Draper Sr.; father, Robert Oxley Sr.; sister, Carolyn Canupp; brother, Robert (Pete) Oxley Jr.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Remains rest at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2001, with burial in Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A.

Valerie married Charles Kevin Keener, son of Dana Grayland Keener and Rebeka Ann Johnson (Becky) Keener. (Charles Kevin Keener was born in 1963.)
