CHILDRESS Died Wednesday, January 1, 1969, at a local hospital, Worthie Lee Childress Sr. of 5249 Bassett Ave, aged 81 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl Clary Childress; three daughters, Miss Gertrude Childress, Mrs. V. W. Hague and Mrs. C. L. Wil- liams; two sons, Garland W. and Worthic Lee Childress Jr., all of Richmond; five sisters, Mrs. F. A. Clarke, Mrs. Alene Clarke and Mrs. T. D. Stuart, all of Richmond; Mrs. J. R. Wooldridge of Midlothian, Va., and Mrs. Frank Keener of Mineral, Va., one brother, George R. Childress of Santa Barbara, Calif.; six grandchil- dren and three great-grand- children. Remains rest at the Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., where services will be conducted Friday @ 11 A. M. Interment in Maury Cemetery. Mr. Childress was a member of Mc-' Guire Park United Methodist 'Church, past master of Man- chester Lodge No. 14, AF&AM; Manchester Royal Arch Chap- ter No. 48; Scottish Rite, Manchester Gang, Plumbers and Steamfitters Local No. 10. Manchester Lodge No. 14 AF&AM, will have memorial services Thursday at 8 P. M. at the funeral home.
Worthie married Pearl Estelle Clary Childress on Apr 25, 1909. (Pearl Estelle Clary Childress was born on Aug 14, 1889 in Manchester, Virginia and died in 1971.)
