The Latest News

Five of the Vegas fighters have been on
Dana Huyler's Online Button Men Site for a little over a month now.
The new and improved Shamrock (2 7/13 7/13 7/13 7/13) currently has 20
games under her belt and has a 64.7% win percentage. I'm so proud of her.
I may just permenently change her recipe this new one.
The others on the site are the ones that don't introduce new rules (and
hence extra programming): Sly, Lola, Frankie, and a modified Black Jack
((1,1) 11 (8,8) (10,11) T). With any luck I'll be able to do some of the
programming to get Pai Gow, Crypto, Craps, and Wildcard up and going. I'll
work on Pai Gow first, since he's in the first pair planned for real live
production.
On a different subject, honest, I'll have artwork for Pai Gow "real soon now".

Changed some more names and descriptions:
- The name Bruno was already taken, so the Pit Boss has undergone
another name change to become Sly.
- It was getting a little ridiculous having Pai Gow's Pai Gow Dice
allow him to make a Pai Gow attack. PG Dice are now "Dual Dice", which
enable a "Dual Weapon Attack".
- Random little spelling, grammar and wording changes.

- Went over some sketches for Pai Gow with Bill Hartman, the artist.
We're going with a younger, more modern look than originally conceived.
- Decided to release the set to the Cheapasses mailing list for
comment and playtest data. Will worry about licensing after getting
some more playtest data and balancing the set against existing buttons.
- Added real names to some of the characters: The Pit Boss is now Ivan;
The Magician is now The Great Crypto; Showgirl is now Lola; The
Professor is now Frankie the bartender.
- Added alternate dice 'recipes' to Pai Gow, Black Jack, and Shamrock.
I'd like to see if Pai Gow's new dice combinations make him a little less
underpowered. Changing Black Jack's (20,1) Twin Die to a (10,10) should
make that die a little easier to manage and more in line with the
characters 'theme'. I gave Shamrock a fourth 7/13 because she needed
just a little more flexibility in choosing her dice and because the
9-sided die was harder to tie to her description.
If you have any comments on these issues, please
email me.
Sept 12, 2000 Currently working with the artist, Bill Hartman, on the
artwork for Showgirl. He says he'll start some sketches for Pai Gow. He's
trying to have these first two done before he leaves for his wedding on the
26th.
