Movie Title 映画の題名


There are a lot of Hollywood movies in rental video shops in Japan. Many of them are with Japanese subtitles. So even though you can't understand Japanese language very well, you can enjoy them in English. So as far as you can read titles in Japanese, you can borrow them.
In many cases original titles are translated to Japanese literally. So if you are good at Japanese, you can translate them back to the original titles. When titles are in KATAKANA, usually no translation is necessary.
But sometimes translaters don't like direct translation and make Japanese titles very different from original ones. In these cases your Japanese skill can't help you. You can not tell the original title from Japanese title. It's not your fault.

この映画は日本であんなに有名なんだから、当然このアメリカ人も 知ってるはずなのに、なぜか話が通じない。どうも日本語の題名が オリジナルの題名と随分違うようだ。 なんて経験はありませんか？ そんな映画を集めています。
