Rock Climbing in
2007
2007 turned out to be a great year for climbing. Kerry got out
onto real rock more than 20 times!! He also had the chance to
climb with better than 18 different partners/folks! In addition
he had two great ice climbing
trips during the winter. Kerry took the above shot of Kevin
leading the Dangler up at the Gunks. One the highlights included
Kerry finally getting the opporutnity to climb at Millbrook up at the
Gunks. That was an incredible experience. The first
two pictures below show Kerry climbing at Millbrook: the first one is
pulling the final roof/crack on Cruise Control, while the next one
shows Kerry on a hard 5.8 variation of the classic "High
Traverse". Below these, is a shot of Kerry on Hyjek's Horror, and
then Kari climbing at Allamuchy.
Some of the folks that Kerry got to climb with included Kari, Kathi,
Geoff, Jennifer, Jean, Monica, Emily, Sam, Lucas, Ben, Emily, Jim (and
his kids Sam and Caroline), and Marty. Kathi and Geoff ended up
being Kerry's most common partners. One of the real joys of
climbing this past season was watching Geoff improve. Geoff
climbed (outdoors) for the very first time in April, and it was amazing
to see how far he had come and progressed by the time we climbed over
the Thanksgiving holiday. A few pictures of some these folks are
