Summer 2004 (and a little into the early
Fall)
Needless to say soccer and baseball continued into and through the summer.
However, there were several
other activities that we did including: rock climbing , hiking , a short vacation to the
Adirondacks , water skiing ,
work around the house, walking the pups, softball, and picnics. In
late July, we headed up to Lake Hopatacong for a day
of water skiing. We had a blast, and we even met an amazing water
ski dog. He didn't actually ski, but he was on the boat
and was very helpful. He was indeed a cool dog. The kids water
skied, did wake boarding, and then did some tubing.
the ski boat was a VERY fast custom ski boat, and as such we hit some pretty
high speeds on the tube: and as such
I think the tubing was the overall favorite. As you can see the kids and
the dog enjoyed the day out on the water. Afterwards
we went to a waterfront restaurant, and had lunch while watching the boats
on the lake. It reminded me a bit of the old
days when we would go eat nachos at the "Oasis" on Lake Travis (outside Austin,
Texas) after a day of windsurfing!!
In September, Kerry's dive club (MUD - Metuchen Underwater Divers) had their
annual picnic. During it Tom played
horseshoes, bocce, and even manned the grill. In the "bocce" picture
you can see two-thirds of the Lavitt clan (Carol, and Katie
standing behind Tom), while in the cooking picture you can see the newest
Castellano and his mother. You can't recruit
these divers at too early an age!
