2004 proved to be a great year. At times it did, however,
seem like it was being dominated by
soccer, soccer and more soccer. The Spring '04 Travel Team (the
Charge - U14G) had a
very good season culminating in a great tournament in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
The Charge team was a GREAT
bunch of girls. After summer tryouts, Kari made the Girls' High School
varsity soccer team, and they went deeper into the State Tournament
than they had in the past 23 years (making the semi-finals of the Sectional).
Currently, there is Kari's PDA (Player Development Association)
team (winter and Spring of '05). Below you can see a picture of the
High School Varsity team at their annual "car" wash fund raiser,
and you can see Kari working with some very young soccer players at the
PDA's Soccer Festival
Tom also had an eventful year: graduation from Lincoln Elementary school,
and starting Middle School. He also had a very good year in
baseball, making the playoffs in both Spring and Fall ball (and making
the championship game in the Fall). One of the highlights in the Spring
was the 5th grade's three day camping trip to Camp Bernie. Kerry
had the opportunity to be a day chaperone, and in the pictures below you
can
see him trying to help during the rope "course". If you click the
below images, you'll see slightly larger versions.
Tom also surprised us quite a bit by actually doing "work" around the house
this year, including working on the roof (helping the
"chimney guy" replace and work on our chimney - this was actually during
a very very odd and warm Indian summer day in
late February), mowing the yard, raking leaves in the, and
manning the grill during the annual dive club (MUD) picnic!!
There were also a lot of other activities throughout the year. A
few of these include a couple of GREAT ice climbing trips , and several
ski trips (some locally - to the Poconos, and a couple of trips out to Keystone
in Colorado). Click the images to go to the 2004 ice climbing and the
skiing 2004 pages)
During the Spring there were hikes, trips to Six Flags, bike rides, while
the summer included SEVERAL rock climbing trips (Tom
climbed outside for the first time this past summer), a family trip to
the ,Adirondacks water skiing, and scuba diving. During the
summer Adirondack trip we stayed at a really nice Bed and Breakfast. One
of the below pictures shows one of the breakfasts ...
can you pick out the morning and non-morning people??
