The  rock climbing season started off slowly, with weather, work and other conflicts conspiring to delay the first trip up to the Gunks (even though we did have an early season day up at Allamuchy).   However, things picked up, with it being a great climbing season - and the Fall was an exceptional with us getting out onto real rocks well into December!    Kerry also had the chance to climb with several folks including Kathy, Richard, Angelique, Melissa, Sudha, Sam, Emily, Jean, Tom and Kari.  There were also several animal adventures including some cool snake encounters, a vulture's nest (complete with large fledglings) and of course Jean's dog Zoe.  Above you can see a couple of pictures of Kerry - on of him doing the hard start of Black Fly, and the other one showing him on Laurel (both up at the Gunks).    Also, there is a nice shot of the mother vulture in the next up on the Three Pines ledge.

Kerry climbed most frequently with Kathy this year, and we ended up doing quite a few great climbs, with the highlight being Shockley's ceiling (in the fog).  Below you can see a shot of Kathy on black fly, and they Kathy on the classic 5.10, Retribution. Next you can see Kathy on the first belay ledge of Shockley, followed by Kathy topping out on Shockley's in the heavy fog.   After this is a shot of Richard from the late season day of climbing that we had at Allamuchy.

One of the best days that we had up at the Gunks in 2006, was the day that Angelique and her daughter Melissa, headed up with Kari, Tom and Kerry.  It was just an incredible day.  The kids had a great time.  We got in some nice climbing and hiking, and had a GREAT time at the swimming hole.  Afterward we went into town and enjoyed another great meal!!  Once again, just a great day!!  The pictures below capture some of that day.   You can see Melissa rapping from Betty, and also you can see Tom moving up Betty.  Next you can see Angelique and Kerry (watching the kids climb Black Fly).  There is also a nice shot of the kids hanging out and scrambling, and another one of them on the carriage road as we were heading to the swimming hole (where you can see Tom, Melissa and Kari).

After nearly a five you absence,  Kerry got the chance to climb with Emily again, and there was some spectacular Fall foliage during some of those days.
Below you can see Emily coming up Middle Earth, and then her at the crux of Snooky's return.  Also, you can see Emily getting ready to start Snooky's while Sudha was giving her a belay.  Lastly, there is a shot of some of the Fall Foliage. This shot was take from Casa Emilio (which is WAY down along the Trapps - in the Gunks) and shows some of the foliage and the carriage road as it starts to head over to Skytop.

Kerry also had the chance to climb with Sudha about 4 times: twice at Allamuchy and then twice up at the Gunks.  The first picture below was taken on the first climbing trip of the year.  It was up at Allamuchy, and you can see Rhea & Rebel at the base of the Main Wall.  The next shot shows Sudha in the middle of Classic.

As mentioned earlier, Kerry also had the chance to climb with Sam and Jean.  Below you can see Sam on Laurel, and the there is a shot of Jean on the top pitch of Gelsa.  Of course Zoe (her dog) is always near Jean.  Lastly, there is a picture from one of our snake adventures - we had a double serpent day on June 6th, 6/6/06 - something akin to 6-6-6!!
