Islanders vs. Kings

>

The New York Islanders and Los Angeles Kings met at the Sprint Center for an NHL exhibition game. The game took place on Tuesday, September 22, 2009. The Los Angeles Kings beat the New York Islanders 4-2 in front of a crowd of 9,792.
There was and is speculation about another NHL team testing the waters of KC. Islanders owner Charles Wang is said to be frustrated by the lack of progress by local politicians (Long Island, NY) for a project to update or replace the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, the Islanders home arena.
While Kc may be a possibility for Wang, don't get too excited, KC has been through this before. The Pittsburgh Penguins used KC as a bargaining chip to secure a new arena, which is scheduled to open in 2010. The Nashville Predators also flirted with KC before finding local ownership.
