Susan and Tina stayed at home when Mommy went shopping. A black Persian cat came to the house and they opened a can of salmon and fed the cat. Mommy said don't give the cat salmon because it is expensive. So the next day when the cat came back they gave it tuna. Mommy went to the store and purchased cat food. The cat was a regular at the house.
Mommy asked the girls "who owns this cat?" Soon they found out it was a family on the next street and his name was Scott. He started traveling away from home when the owners brought in a white Persian. Then when 5 grey Persians came to live Scott refused to go home.
Along with Mommy and the girls 5 or 6 families in the neighborhood were feeding Scott. He got very fat. If your food wasn't what he wanted he went to the next house.
One time he got into a fight and Mommy took him to the Vets. Another neighbor got him a Rabis shot.
Finally a neighbor moved in across the street who's cat had died. She permantly adopted Scott. When she went on vacation Scott came to Mommy. In the meantime the girls had finished grade school, middle school, high school and college. Scott continued to live across the street.
Mommy got a dog because Scott never came over and the lady across the street stopped traveling. The girls went to work, moved into their own homes, and had pets of their own.
We calculated Scott to be at least 25 years old. He was almost blind and lost his teeth but continued to climb and be happy with the lady across the street.
