The first time we went to the beach, it was by a place called an ocean. It was a very unpleasant experience. We couldn't catch anything to eat. When we were thirsty and tried the water it was really yucky. The water wouldn't stand still. When we stood at the edge, we were suddenly up to our noses in water that ran at us.
Today we went to another beach. It was close to home, at a place called a lake. Our human companions said we would have a good time there. To get ready, we sharpened our fish-catching claws on the best furniture. When we got to the beach, it looked very nice and we felt encouraged by the scene. The lake was very large and set in among the mountains. It was a very warm sunny day, and it just felt good to be by the water. This water stood still, so we could get right to the edge. Much to our delight, we found lots of small, bite-size fish swimming right at the edge of the water. We had a good time fishing and feasting, while our humans sat at a table and ate what they brought with them.
There were also little humans on the beach who we had never seen before. They seemed to like to see us, and petted us a great deal.
We had a very good day at the beach, and we want to go there again.
