Trip to Cleveland Zoo

June 2005

Jeanne, Emma, and I made a three day, two night trip to Cleveland to visit the Zoo.  We also spent a half day at a water park in Erie, Pa.  The pictures on this page will take a while to load.

Emma in her car seat, all ready to go!
At the rest stop in Ohio.  Emma thought it was great fun to smell all the flowers in the planters.
In our hotel room in Cleveland.
Supper was a room order pizza.  Emma liked eating in bed!
We went for a swim in the hotel pool after supper.  Here's Jeanne trying to convince Emma to go in the pool.  Emma thought the water was too cold for swimming, but the pool was great for running around and driving Mommy crazy.
We were at the zoo the next morning, promptly at opening time, 10:00 am.
It was a hot day, but we had Emma's wagon with a cooler full of cold drinks and sandwiches & salad for lunch.
The elephants were eating breakfast.
Jeanne and Emma looking at the sheep in the Australia exhibit.
Waiting for the Dr. Zoolittle Wild Animal Show to start.
Part of the Wild Animal Show
The Cleveland Zoo has one of the largest primate collections.  Here's Jeanne posing with a sculpture of an a monkey.  Emma refused to sit on the bench.
It was so hot, we stopped for ice cream in the middle of the afternoon, mainly to get out of the sun.  Emma ate her entire bowl of ice cream!
Pink flamingos
Koala Bears

Getting a drink of water.  Emma thought the drinking fountain was a terrific toy.
Another monkey sculpture.
In the Rain Forest exhibit.
It started pouring shortly before closing time, Grandma ran and got the car and brought it closer to the zoo entrance, but we all got wet!
Emma watching a movie back in the hotel room in the evening.  She loved watching the DVD player.
