*************************************************** .This is the first year I'm sad to say that Siltcoos Lk. where I've fished for 26 years has joined the ranks of overpopulated shores on lakes like tenmile and others flushing nitrates into it till poison bluegreen algea grows rampant...Seven people died because of it in Lake Mead from ingesting it.Also boats that come north may bring another plague in the form of the Qugga mussle,That made its way from The great lakes on trailers to Lake mead and each one can produce one million eggs per spawn and they are destructive to everything on,in,or around the water....It now will cost millions of dollars to maintain Hoover dam from the destruction this non-native invasive speices will cause. With responsible caution I hope they also don't infest beautiful Siltcoos Lake.Keep on fishing but be aware and do what you can to save our waters from overdevelopment and invasive species............><> ****************************************************** Trolling flashers with a worm behind or a wedding-ring tipped with worm will work for searun cutthroat and rainbow trout. Also fishing a worm on the bottom in clear areas near weedlines.Small lures such as rooster tails in white or black in 1/6 oz.will catch most fish that inhabit the lake. *************************************************** The future of the dam that regulates the water level of Siltcoos Lake is in question. Some groups would like to see it removed even though it has been proven important for maintaining the lakes water level during the summer months......As they have put a portage around the dam for canoes and kayaks I am optimistic the dam will stay in place and hopefully will be managed in a responsible and fish friendly way for years to come.><> ***************************************************** Pic at Rt.is 12 lb.coho and bottom pic are some of the Salmon lures on top and bass lures on the bottom... The size limit for jacks is 20 in. and under, one a day unless you have a tagged adult over 20 in. then you are not allowed to target Salmon.><> *****************************************************
