Patrick
McNamee earned a Bachelor of
Fine Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth
University in 1990 where he studied the art of metal forming. Upon earning
his degree, he accepted a traditional apprenticeship
for three years with Valerius Blacksmithing in Chicago, Illinois, under Master
Blacksmith, William Valerius. While working with Valerius, McNamee learned
the traditional ways and techniques of the blacksmith. At the end of his
apprenticeship, Patrick returned to Virginia to open his own studio, now
based in Midlothian, Virginia.
It is our belief, that it takes the best tools, the best material,
and above all the best artisans to produce work of the highest
quality and enduring design.

All of our work is custom made, by hand, for you our customer. Every
piece of hand crafted furniture that leaves our studio bears the stamp
of McNamee Studios, the signature of the artist, Patrick McNamee, and
the date of its completion.
