Oct. 10th - Tallapoosa Association - Prayer Walk
Sunny Level Baptist Church
What a wonderful day! Nine members of Canaan BC drove an hour and
a half to Alexander City for a prayer walk at Sunny Level Baptist Church.
Two more were at Wind Creek park and spent their day with us too. Bro.
Barry Cosper, Director of Missions for Tallapoosa association, was also present
and walked with us.
We prayed over the church building, every room, every pew, bathrooms, even a
trash can. We walked the surrounding neighborhood and passed out flyers
advertising their 49th homecoming tomorrow. We had a time of sharing
after the walk. All of us were touched in some way by the work God
provided for us today.
When we left Bessemer at 7:30AM it was raining and heavily overcast. It
rained on us on and off all the way there, almost. I prayed and I'm
sure others did too, for as we approached Alex City, there was a bright spot in
the clouds with blue sky. It did NOT rain and the sun shined the
entire time we were at the church!
Bro. Bill Middlebrook is the interim pastor. Please lift him and the
members of this church up in prayer. They were excited about our being
there and we all felt God had had a hand in the activities of the
day. We pray their Homecoming tomorrow will be well attended.
Our deepest gratitude to Bro. Barry, Margaret Rosser, Jane Folk, Hazel
McCrory, Tricia Shell, Betty Sanders, Neal Sanders, Mary Shaw, Roy and Annie Lou
Casey for sharing their day in this evangelistic work for the Lord with us.
You'll notice Neal found the piano and had the group
on their feet singing.

October 23, 25 & 26 - On Mission Celebration
Picked up WMU flags for use in Bessemer Association "On
Mission Celebration" planned for Sunday the 25th and Monday the
26th. We had a great rally on Monday evening and over 70
missionaries (those who have gone on missions this year + IMB, NAMB and State
missionaries) carrying flags of countries of the world.
October 30 - State Board of Missions
Collected and printed pictures for Affinity Groups at the State Board of
Missions for the week of prayer emphasis the first week of November.
Traveled to Montgomery to return the WMU flags used in the Bessemer Association
'On Mission Celebration' and to help Cynthia White setup displays for the 9
Affinity Groups - We had displays on all 4 floors of the building.
Cynthia had composed trivia questions and the answers could be found at the 9
displays - so the state missionaries had to visit each to get the answers.
Then on Wednesday, Nov. 4th, drawings were made for prizes after lunch - this
was a fun time for all, but it also focused their attention on the need for
prayer for missions.
