My Little Corner of Culinary Basics

Guidelines for Food Handling

Welcome to the Awareness Information Section of "My Little Corner of Culinary Basics". In this section, after a couple of years of compiling information, I give to you some basic information on Food Safety, the Handling of Food, Illnesses you might contract if handled improperly, and some Basic Guidelines of how to treat food during an Emergency.

This information has been collected from several sources, mostly from US Government Agencies; USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture), USDA/FSIS (U.S. Department of Agriculture/ Food Safety and Inspection Service), CDC (Centers for Disease Control), FDA (Food and Drug Administration), FDA/CFSAN (Food and Drug Administration/ Center for Food Safety & Applied Nutrition), The National Food Safety Database and others.

My efforts here are an effort to PROMOTE AWARENESS on the proper handling of foods. I did this to only make people aware and not to discourage your exploration and experimentation in the kitchen.

If you read something you don't fully understand or question, please by all means research it and collect information to satisfy your inquiry.
