Currently the Group is designing a SharedUniverse involving far flung portions of the galaxy. The inhabitants of the SharedUniverse aren't the original developers of the technology they are using. They were the servants of All Powerful Masters who used the lower lifeforms as intelligent tools for their own purposes. It is a wonderfully diverse "universe" for fertile writer's imaginations.
If you wish to get involved in a new SharedUniverse Group, simply propose the basic tenets of a SharedUniverse (either Grand or Simple or somewhere in between) and we will try to generate interest among the participants of the SciFi_Discussion List and elsewhere. The new Group would have its own List for discussion and development of ideas, avoiding the confusion that would be possible if multiple Groups were trying to exist within one List.

The groups are limited in size (a Minimum of 6 and Maximum of 10 members) to provide optimum usage of each participant's skills. New applicants may have to wait several months before a place becomes available. However, we will try our best not to keep long waiting lists.
The List is not for lurkers or people looking to socialize via email.
New members will be assigned by the list owner/moderator to a Group as soon as an opening becomes available. Members who need time out from a group can request a leave of up to six months. This allows a quick return to a group without re-applying for membership.
We require our members to insure that all rights regarding intellectual property remain secure. Any person violating those rights will be subject to international laws addressing theft of such property. We will provide all reasonable assistance to any law enforcement agency attempting to enforce such laws.
The SharedUniverse Writer's Group is for authors of all skill levels. It is a place where they can meet with other writers who share the need to grow and improve. Members may be published or yet-to-be published emerging writers. All members are expected to apply the basics of good writing skills and should be seeking to build upon them. However, the SharedUniverse Group is NOT an appropriate group for aspiring writers who are still learning the Basics of the writing craft.
There is no Fee required of Members for participation in this Group. However, everyone is expected to act in a Professional Manner.
Please do not take offense at any of the above. These groups will be successful because we are serious about the work we share.
