I got all of my yard and house obligations taken care of on Saturday, so I'd have Sunday to ride, but I was so lazy I almost missed it. I finally got it together after lunch and headed over to Ballenger Creek Elementary School to start my ride.
I haven't ventured into the southern parts of Frederick County too much yet, but I was pretty sure that these roads would be mostly flat, and I'm glad they were. I wasn't looking for much of a workout.
Ballenger Creek Pike took me quickly out of the suburbs into the country and down to the small town of Point of Rocks on the banks of the Potomac River.
Once there I turned parallel to the river and followed Tuscarora Rd. (MD 28) for a bit. At New Design Rd. I turned and went all the way to the river at the C&O's Nolan's Ferry entrance. Then I headed back to Frederick at almost a straight shot, right up New Design Rd.
