| INTRODUCTION The beginning of the Revolutionary War in 1776 found most of my ancestral lines already in America. Dutch, English, French, German, and Scots-Irish all thrown together in a vast new experience that would shape people even as they struggled to shape the land. Typically, my ancestors worked small family farms. As families grew and the soil "played out", new fertile lands and opportunities further west beckoned. Families moved through the Cumberland Gap into Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, and Illinois; others moved into the Ohio Valley and on to Kansas. By the early 1900's all four of my grandparents were in Colorado. The genealogies given below are a work in progress. The "Johnson Connections" is a link to my Dad's genealogy page. My maternal lineage is found in the "Young Connections". JOHNSON CONNECTIONS: BILLIOU, BILYEU, BRICKEY, BRIQUET, CLARKSON, COX, DEATON, HAMBY, HARRISON, HENDRICKS, HUNTER, JOHNSON, MCINTYER, MOORE, PORTER, SNYDER, SUTTON, WALKER, WELCH, WILLSON, WOERTMAN, WORKMAN, and MANY OTHERS YOUNG CONNECTIONS: BARKER, BETTIS, DAY, DRAPER, GLANVILLE, GREGG, JOHNSON, JONES, LAIR, LINDSEY, MANLEY, MOSS, NICHOLS, PEELER, ROSE, SMITH, WELLER, WHITLOCK, WRIGHT, YOUNG, and OTHERS DIRECT ANCESTORS OF DARRYL JOHNSON: Ancestors by Generation (Ahnentafel) DARRYL'S LINKS
