In looking back at our 2003 reunion, I am so pleased with the way those two great days came together. It was so wonderful to have that many people show up. Everyone seemed to have such a good time. When I stood up with the microphone to start the family introductions I did not want to say anything because everyone was so busy talking and laughing that I hated to interrupt.
Our gathering tallied 155 people from 13 states. Our only remaining aunt, Julie and Don Kelvie from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota were our special guests. And the cousins from Wisconsin, which many of us had never met, all helped make the two days even more special.
I had a friend draw up Sahli and Glatt family trees. After I added all the names and dates the Glatt family tree was really "crowed". But the guests spent a lot of time in viewing them.
My family and my siblings were all behind me and helped with the planning in any way they could and that all helped make my job easier. I hope we can do this again in a few years.
As the saying goes, "Build it and they will come," I can say invite them and they will come.
