Age 84, passed away Thursday morning at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center, Neenah after a short illness. He was born June 27, 1903 in Onaka, South Dakota, the son of Joseph and Magdalena Sahli. He had been a resident of Menasha since 1945. He owned and operated, with his brother John, the Menasha Hotel. He had been active in the Neenah-Menasha Senior Citizens and was a businessman in his early years in Hague, North Dakota, until 1945. He is survived by his wife, Anna (Lipp) Sahli; two daughters: Mrs. Fabian (Mary) Schwalen, Menasha; Esther Broehm, Appleton; a son and daughter-in-law; Norb and Jeanne, Appleton; two brothers: John, Appleton; Frank, Perham, Minnesota; three sisters: Mrs. Katherine Hulm, Strasburg, North Dakota; Mrs. Henry (Gladys) Hummel, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Mrs. Donald (Julia) Kelvie, Minneapolis, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren. Mr. Sahli was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Glatt; a brother, Martin Sahli and a daughter, Clara. Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at the Laemmrich Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Menasha with Rev. Michael Noreika S.S.S. officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Laemmrich Funeral Home, Friday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. There will be an 8 p.m. prayer service.


Mrs. Peter (Anna) Sahli (Aug. 12, 1992)

Age 87, passed away on Wednesday morning August 12, 1992 at Colony Oaks Care Center, Appleton, Wisconsin. She was born September 16, 1904 in Hague, North Dakota, the daughter of Michael and Katherine (Pfeifer) Lipp. She is survived by two daughters: Mary Schwalen and Esther Broehm, both of Appleton; a son and daughter-in-law: Norbert and Jeanne Sahli, Appleton; a brother, Leo Lipp, Strasburg, North Dakota; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday evening August 13, 1992 at 7 p.m. at the Laemmrich Funeral Home, Menasha with Father William O’Halloran S.S.S. officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Laemmrich Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 4 until 7 p.m.
