It takes lots of high-tech equipment and hard work behind the scenes to make for a smooth concert at the Music Center. Here are some examples.

What's behind the glass wall at the rear of the orchestra? A sound board.

What makes a star a star? Hard work and charisma, sure. But a spotlight doesn't hurt! (It's pointing to the right.)

There's an extensive array of sound and lighting equipment above the ceiling. Here's a look at the stage from up there.

There's also plenty of sound equipment behind the walls, such as black curtains called "banners" that are electronically rolled and unrolled to tune the sound in the Concert Hall.

One acoustical feature you can see are the 43 acrylic acoustical "clouds" above the stage that are raised, lowered, and tilted to tune the sound. Each corner of each cloud is attached by wire to one of these motors in the ceiling.
